Histroy is full examples of underdogs criing major empires. Revolutionary War, War of 1812. Both were won by an inferior military, and boom we have the USA which has had the best military on the planet for 200 plus years.

The difference here is that the US was a country engaged in guerrilla warfare with the English with rather primitive technology, here we have entire fleets that could simply bombard the planet's surface.

One single planet up against a galaxy-spanning empire, for example, is not going to hold out for long.

Unless the force needed was underestimated, and to scale the British did have the strongest navy at the time and the USA had no Navy until after the Revolutionary War.

Regardless of the arguments... it may be possible to stop a Dom once, but you are correct it may not be readable a second time.

there's a reason Canada's are called 'storm troopers'. and we're not even the best ourselves anyway. that would most likely be Russia, with the most nuke warheads, and the largest mechanized army in the world.

A minor faction being able to defend a planet that they've RP'd on and probably have a rich history on before a major faction lays claim to it through a dominion? Whaaaat? That would just make too much sense, crazy talk up in here.
