He was confident that he wouldn’t have any further issues with his patient. As his master gave him another warning to be careful, Makari simply nodded.
Once he was left alone with his patient, he began to draw upon the force with a controlled hunger. Like his master told him, moderation was the key. He had to pace himself properly in order to draw upon the force for a long period of time.
As the man’s temperature was slowly raised, they had a light conversation about their work history. Makari was surprised to learn that the man hailed from District 9, which was his old stomping grounds back when he used to work with the Ralla Group.
After the man’s core temperature was returned to normal, they shook his hands and promised to speak later if there was an opportunity.
As he was seeking out his master, Makari reflected on the fact that he needed to get stronger. While there had been no mishap with his patient, he still felt weary from using just this small application of the force. What would happen when he was in a real battle? He wondered.
His thoughts came to a halt as he spotted his master. He approached her in a casual stride, bowing his head with respect as he came closer.
“Am I interrupting something?” he asked, taking note of the nurses that were still with her. “I just came to report that everything went accordingly. Like you said, I just had to pace myself and everything else fell into place.”
He didn’t expect any praise but he was happy that he wouldn’t get scolded at the least. As he waited for her answer, he crossed his arms and leaned against a nearby wall with a thoughtful expression. He started to think about what else he would have to focus on in his off-time. This trip to Rhen Var had truly been illuminating. There would be many things he would have to work on whenever they returned back to the temple.
