It's Complicated

Sage felt his twin drawing energy into herself, and he shifted his weight, preparing for her attack. As Sayl's telekinetic pulse came flying towards him, his hand shot up, fingers spread. He let out a pulse of dark energy, that mingled with hers, blocking her attack. The one amphistaff attached to Sayl's neck felt the brunt of the attack, and hissing, it uncoiled itself from around the girl's neck. He felt the creature's rage and its hunger for flesh as deeply as if they were his own emotions and desires. The infernal keening of the creature almost drowned the more rational voice in his head, which soon asserted its dominance. Control had been a vicious tug of war with the limb since he had the biot implanted.

She's your sister, you cur. You and she shared your whore of a mother's womb. The least you could do is, I don't know, NOT MURDER her.

Sage's leathery amphistaves finally turned docile and dropped to his side. One reared up suddenly, and he gave it a stern look before it returned to its brothers. Finally he raised his gaze to Sayl once again.

"Fine, continue to goad me sister." His brown eyes flashed towards Dair. "And continue to bed the padawan. What do I care?"

In the next moment, the Sith Knight whirled on his heel, and headed for the cantina's exit. He stopped and turned to look directly at Dair.

"If I meet you on the battlefield, I will kill you. No matter how much you mean to my sister."

Then he disappeared into the night.

Sage always did like to have the last word.

Dair watched silently as [member="Sage Bane"] walked out of the Cantina. He had a feeling, really a pit in his stomach, that he was going to see Sage in the future. It would not be nearly as friendly as today had been.

Dair took a deep, calming breath, centering himself in the ice that was his connection to the force, and looked at [member="Sayl Bane"].

"That went well..." He said in a deadpan voice dripping with sarcasm. His right eyebrow lifted and his eyes shifted to Sayl's neck. "How bad is it?" He indicated her neck with a nod as he slipped the lightsaber back up his sleeve and placed his hands on her shoulders, drawing her close into a partial hug. He still looked into her face, a worried look on his own.

"It went better than it could have. At least we're able to walk away." It wasn't likely he would grow to appreciate the little things like that right away, but when it came to her brother it really was the small blessings that counted for the most. Given the more serious events that could have transpired, Sayl ruled this to be one of the more civil meetings with Sage. At this point there wasn't any telling how he would react to any situation. "Dealing with him isn't going to get any easier. If anything he'll become more convinced that he needs to be involved." Here she flashed a wry smile. "Still think he's not so bad just because he's related to me? Trust me, I'm the sanest of the Bane siblings. Hopefully you won't have to meet my half-brother."

One hand reached up to gently probe the bruises about her neck, and she shrugged. "It's fine. I'll be fine." Never had she been one to speak overly much about her personal feelings, and this was no different. Closing the distance between them, she simply hugged him for a long moment. "I'm just glad he didn't try anything with you. That's all I care about."

Dair did in fact appreciate the small things. No true harm had come to them, despite the volatility of the sibling rivalry. Sayl's safety was and is the only thing concerning Dair at the moment.

Dair smiled back at her. "I am sure that he will do what he can to make good on his threat. All in all he's not too bad, those biot's are another story...and as long as your half-brother isn't the Dark Lord himself, I can't imagine a meeting going much worse than this one without weapons being drawn."

As she stepped in to hug him, he ran his hand up into her hair and held her there. He planted a kiss on the top of her head before they moved towards the door. Neither of them seemed to pay any heed to the fact that many of the cantina's patrons were eyeballing them. Violence in a bar was one thing, but everyone liked to see family drama, and this place had seen a lot of it shoved into a small package.
