It's Not the Cargo, It's the Destination

They were nearing the warehouse. Gray agreed that it would be good if there were windows in the warehouse, it would be great help knowing how many they would face. "Right before dawn sounds good. We'll be covered by the darkness, and it'll be easier to strike." But returning to the ship to get supplies and prepare would also be a good idea.

Then he heard that he had mentioned Nar Shaddaa. In his head, he paniced and swore to himself. Well, there was no reason to hide it, and he had to give an answer. "In a way," he said reluctantly. "In my teenage years, I lived there. Sometimes when I was out trying to get Food or looking for a New Place to stay, I saw People lying around. Dead. Looking familiar to the Picture [member="Thraxis"] showed me. It couldn't have been the same spice, but it was something." As he spoke, it gradually got easier. At the end, it sounded more like he was talking to himself than Lori. "The first times, I would tell my father, but like always, he didn't care about it. He mostly sat in his own thoughts, so I stopped caring about it too. But I never forgot."

Then they arrived at the Warehouse. It was big, and luckily, had Windows. Gray looked in. It wasn't easy to see everything, but it didn't look like there were too many goons there. Nothing the two of them couldn't handle. He moved so [member="Loreena Arenais"] could look. After she was done, he turned to walk back to the ship.

Lori couldn't imagine what it was like for [member="Gray Venasir"] to see dead bodies every day. And for his own father not to care? For people to grow numb to the fact that lives were being stolen all around them? It was...unheard of and unthinkable. She hoped that there would never come a time when she'd be numb to it all.

"That sucks, Gray.
I'm glad that you haven't become like your father, and that you care."
He seemed to anyways.

She approached the warehouse with him and waited for Gray to finish with his inspection before she got to take a look herself. Her eyes squinted as she focused on counting the goons within. From what she could see, there appeared to be eight of them. That wasn't too bad. Windows higher up gave her a good reason to smile. She could use those.

Almost with a bounce in her step, Lori turned from the window and started back towards their ship. "I'm going to need my jetpack, some flash grenades and a blaster. I can fly up to those windows and shatter them, then stun the goons with the grenades so that they can be taken out by you on the ground level. If I time it right and move fast enough, they'll think that we have dozens of people attacking them, instead of only two. Whatcha think so far?"

[member="Thraxis"]

"Sounds good, Lori," Gray answered, his tone having changed back to normal. He didn't feel much like talking on the way back to the ship, mostly because he thought of the best way to do this. Lori's plan was good, but Gray liked to think of a backup in case Things didn't og as planed. And like [member="Thraxis"] had said, 'They never do'.

When they arrived back at the ship, Gray went to his room and began looking for what he would need. What he had on this ship was far from what he had on his own, but that ship was somewhere far away. He prepared another leather jacket for the next day, but this one was black, longer, had longer sleeves and was made of thicker material. It wouldn't save him from Direct shots, but it could lessen the damage. In the Pockets on the inside of this jacket had he put some thermal detonators and other grenades. Hopefully, his blasters would be enough, but he liked to be prepared. Then it was the blasters. A S-5 and a holdout blaster. Not the best combo for this mission, but they were all he had brought along. And they were also his favorites. In a hidden Pocket in his boot, he had put a vibroknife, in case there would be a melee. Lastly, he found a bandana, to cover his face.

After he had found the Things for the day after, he walked over to where [member="Loreena Arenais"] was. He assumed she had also prepared. It was beginning to get late, but Gray had to Clear something out first. "Hey. About before, that you said about being glad I didn't turn out like my father, that I cared. He did care, he just had a hard time after my mother died. Having to take care of a preteen me on a Dangerous planet like Nar Shaddaa, and always having to looke over his shoulder. Luckily, I learned to take care of myself. Just didn't want you to have a wrong image of him." He tried to be selective about what he had said. But at the end of the conversation, he said: "I can tell you the Whole story after we're done With this drug mission, if you want. Good night." Then he went to his room, and went to sleep. The day after, he woke up, got dressed in what he had prepared the day before, and walked out. He assumed Lori would take the lead.
