Public [Jakku Enclave] - In From the Wild

Cerys Dyn

to keep the oaths of old
| Jakku
| Outside Jakku Enclave
| Early Morning

I will remove my heart from the equation.
I will have compassion on all equally.
I will not attach my spirit to any.
I will be free in the Force to protect the vulnerable.

I will free myself of the ties of corruption.

Her master was dead. Her body burned on a pyre one click out from the Enclave. Her mast had fallen in defence of Coruscant, and Cerys had fled with a transport full of refugees, and her master’s corpse. Even insisting on bringing it had shown attachment. Cerys had chastised herself as she watched the flames lick up the body of her master. She should not have gone back for her. It showed attachment. In this, Cerys knew her training was not done. She had not detached like she was supposed to.

She walked purposefully across the windswept sands of Jakku. Her destination was the Jakku Enclave. If she was going to complete her training, she would need to find some smaller community of Jedi with hopefully less corruption from the true path. She had left the ship, only good for scraps now, and brought only a bag of her limited possessions. Hopefully, someone would would be home at the Enclave. Perhaps she could be of use with healing.

As she approached a small hangar bay door, Cerys reached forth and depressed the comm button through use of the Force. She could see the light stop flash as she approached the closed door.

Gatz was not exactly in the best shape of his life. A baker's dozen of fresh incisions dotted his body, wrapped in gauze, hidden under his dark robes. But though he couldn't see them, he certainly felt them. The marks of his battle with Adeline Noctua Adeline Noctua during the Siege of Coruscant were a permanent reminder of his limitations, and the pain that accompanied the still healing wounds were a reminder that, well...

He really ought to be taking it easy.

But Romi Jade Romi Jade was gone. And with her passing, a hole had been left behind in the heart of Jakku, her students, and even Gatz himself. No living Jedi could ever replace her. Gatz certainly wasn't going to try. But without her, the enclave needed help now more than ever. Was he the right Jedi, to help guide the next generation, and to lead the enclave into the future?

Ha! Fuck no!

That was for Lossa and Briana to do. Suckers, they'd been tricked into being groomed as Romi's successors. But they were here, and so therefore Gatz was here. That was the promise he had made to Master Jade: to watch over the greatest of her students, as they watched over her legacy. It had been the last thing he'd ever said to Romi, the mentor he had been robbed of so suddenly, before he'd truly gotten the chance to become her student.

But it was a vow all the same. Gatz Derrevar had been many things, and few of them good. But even at his lowest, his word had meant something. He would not renege on a promise, not now, not ever.

The veiled hangar opened, rather suddenly. Gatz blinked—disrupted from where he was fixing the hydraulic ram on his ship's boarding ramp—surprised that anyone was coming into the enclave this early. He didn't remember anyone passing him on their way out. Unless they'd risen before he did, somehow. Which, considering that he'd been up long before the sun, suggested that whoever was coming through the door might have unhealthy sleep habits.

"I know they say 'the early bird gets the worm,'" Gatz called out, not looking up from his repair work, "but waking too early is actually bad for your circadian rhythm."

She felt lighter than she had in some time. Meditation came easier now, if at the cost of some mental space given to her mirror sitting with her. Reflecting on the past and letting go of what could not be changed. Instead shifting their focus to what could be done in the now.

The warning of a failing transport within atmosphere sent to all within the Enclave as Lossa concluded her mediation with a final draw of air.

Centering herself as those with the skill prepared to move to the crash site. Something tugging at her sense to remain as she scanned the room to search for the source of that tug. A smaller transport departing to search the wreck for anyone to rescue as Lossa lingered, her new arm tracing the doorway as a tug along that unseen string pulled her towards the lift. Eyes drifting back and forth across the halls as the controlled energy flowed around her.

Sid was no doubt securing her daughter in her quarter's, and that worry passed over her before leaving her.

The chime for the lift sounding as she entered the tube, the door closing as she settled into place and waited as the lift rose and deposited itself in the Hangar. Gatz was already present it seemed as he announced himself. The familiar sound of a wrench and other tools making it clear where his attention was for the moment.

The unknown approaching the lift had her full attention however had her arms settling at her sides, speculation in her eyes as she spoke. Enhancing her voice to carry clear and true to the unknown being approaching.

The echo within the Hangar resounding over Gatz voice.

"Welcome to the Jakku Enclave. I am Lossa Aureus, one of two overseeing this place. Who do I have the pleasure of meeting?" Unsure if this was where that unseen thread had meant to pull her just yet, or if there was yet more to be found. A glance sideways to Gatz confirming that he was bound up in his repair work for the moment.

“I awoke at my normal time,” replied Cerys in her normal calm, but clipped tone.

She offered the man (the Jedi?) a soft, non-committal smile. Her expression spoke more to her desire for the man to feel comfortable around her more than any enjoyment from his levity. “I come from Coruscant…by way of Chandrila…I seek a new Master after mine perished in defence of the lower level slums.”

Despite her master being the only person she had seen every day for the last seven years, Cerys showed no sign of grief or distress. Even her aura held a resolute, unnatural calm to it.

Another approached, pink of skin, likely Zeltron? Cerys bowed her head politely. Wisps of golden blonde hair wiped across her face due to the slight breeze. “Master,” she said, assuming the title upon the senior Jedi, “I am Jedi Apprentice, Cerys Dyn, keeper of the oaths and bound to the vows of my former master, Ev‘Lana Vaas. I seek instruction so as to completely my training.”

Her sect of itinerant Jedi were not the most well known, but many a Jedi thought them akin to religious zealots. Some even considered them heretics. It was unlikely that Cerys could get away with these Jedi thinking of her oaths as anything less than overly-strict.

She had heard the news of Coruscant and it was saddening... Romi was a friend who had come to the jedi master for things a few times... SHe lingered on a few things mostly if what Romi had asked her to make for her had failed.... but that was something for another time.. she would have to look into that as Jadelight beacon gleamed and was traveling through hyperspace. The work they could do for it with the newest tech and engines would allow it to move like a normal vessel even with its massive size. They had also been working on new fabrication and medical technologies when the news came of the attack on Coruscant.

"Exiting hyperspace." The voice came, one of the Arisen who oversaw Romi's temple here in space... Exis station which Shmi had asked for and given was in the far galaxy now that they had the hyperlanes to move between them and the jedi master looked out the window as she remained there. Allowing the force to wrap around herself when the station came into orbit of the planet and moved in close enough. She remained there for a moment longer looking on. THen was moving down to the lowest point of the station. Her attention on where the enclave was and the jedi master remained standing there in the observation chamber as she checked the readings.

"Begin." The hissing was the first sound... and then ice crystals as she knew how to make an entrance before wrapping the force around herself for a moment. The door opened and she was weightless... moving at speeds she couldn't imagine as the full body wrapping of the force glowed absorbing the friction and heat... strengthening itself. She could feel other jedi were there as she was moving through the air and once she knew she was back in the atmosphere... back into the air and able to move she did... allowing the force to let her moved when she turned the decent speed into power to fly forward with a sonic boom and her arms were extended forward.

She was moving freely and her hair trailed behind her with the black acting like a curtain and her silvery rrobes... the small kyber bells jingling for a moment before she rotated and touched down on the sands into a quick walk... and then a slid down one of the dunes towards the enclave. She allowed the force to guide her and stopped with her hands in front of herself... black eyes looking at other jedi who were there as she moved down with a look. "I heard the news of Coruscant and returned as quickly as possible." THe jedi master looked at the ones there and bowed her head though as she was prepared for just about anything.

Gatz felt Lossa before he heard her. A smile graced his face. Was it silly to still be so infatuated with her? Yeah, most definitely. But he'd spent so much of the last few years focused on doing things for others. Didn't he deserve something for himself? His feelings for Lossa were his, and he was going to hold onto them. If that was selfish of him, then so be it.

She made keeping his promise to Romi that much easier.

Cerys' story was one that many in the Order were living these days. This damn war had taken many things from them, and the loss of so many Jedi at the Siege of Coruscant was one of them. If Inanna had been there, on the front lines, would Gatz have lost her like they'd lost Romi? He didn't want to know the answer. He was just glad that she was still around.

Gatz came to stand at Lossa's side: partially to greet Cerys... but mostly because he just wanted to stand next to Lossa. That was probably taking advantage of the situation, but where else was he supposed to stand if the three of them were having a conversation?

"Gatz Derrevar," he introduced himself with a smile, "technically a Jedi Padawan, seeing as how I'm hiding out here on Jakku to avoid my own knighting ceremony."

Gatz told it like a joke, but those close to him—like Lossa—knew all too well that he used humor to mask what he was really feeling. And the truth was: he was afraid. He didn't know how to do this on his own. He didn't feel ready, even though the Order itself seemingly disagreed. So, he'd run; fled The Vonnuvi the moment he'd had the chance.

Valery Noble Valery Noble was going to smack him upside the head, probably. That was fine. A stinging cheek was a fair price to pay for the few extra days he needed to come to terms with the decision to knight him.

"It's good to meet you, Cerys. I'm filling in as Jakku's Chief Healer at the moment, so if you need anything, just come by the medbay—"

But then another Jedi waltzed in, one that Gatz had met before.

"Master Ike?" He allowed himself another smile, "it's good to see you again."

As much as Coruscant had been an unsettling event, Lossa maintained the aura of calm about herself. Especially with the news of another master succumbing to the fighting that had taken place there. A shame given how they had not been able to meet under better conditions, but the galaxy was strange that way.

Wars were never kind, and it seemed more and more the way of the Force to take in some strange balancing of the scales.

The cut and dry mannerisms did not escape notice, nor the restraint in her presence within the Force. A respectful nod to Cerys in return as she explained her situation.

"Jakku welcomes you Cerys. We will discuss your continued training once we have determined where you are at in your path. For now-" Her words cut short at the appearance of a familiar presence. A respectful bow given to Matsu as the master spoke.

"Coruscant was not kind to many. Especially to Jakku. I, and Jakku, thank you for coming Master Ike." Her greeting to Matsu finished she shared a look to Gatz.

Knighting was a proper scare in its own way, and like herself, he'd avoided it for the time being. But all things happened in their own time.

"A person often meets their destiny on the path to avoid it." The single offer of wisdom she would share in this moment as she shook her head at Gatz. She'd avoided her own ceremony for what felt like years. Not interested in taking responsibility for others until Romi had somehow convinced her to remain on Jakku and oversee the Enclave here in her stead.

Paired with Briana to keep her grounded during that time, she had solidified her path forward without intending to.

"And hiding out in this Enclave to avoid such a thing is a horrible choice given I can call upon Master's Noble or Vanagor for an assessment of you." Humor inside the otherwise serious words as she regarded Serys and Matsu.

"Come inside and drinks will be brought. You've walked too long for someone not accustomed to it." Her comment pointed to Cerys as she beckoned them all to the lift before taking them to the audience chamber.

Water and other beverages made available upon request as Lossa spoke with an Anchorite briefly off to the side. Frowning as she examined the time.

"There are bottles in the cooler." A soft bow shared between herself and the Anchorite, before returning to her seat.

"Your Master, Ev‘Lana Vaas, did she leave you with any instructions beyond your current goal?" Her hands placed in her lap for the time being.

"Good to be seen. We have been busy with the chapter houses." SHe said it and offered a small grin as the padawans were taling and Lossa was bringing them around. She walked with a look though. She loloked at the enclave going in and the padawan who had lost her master as she bowed her head. THe lift going to the audience chamber was welcomed when she had the chance to catch up and see if anything was happen. She looked around the audience chamber for a moment when the words to the padawan came and were going towards her it seemed... she had met Valery Noble sure but didn't have an opinion one way or the other and Caltin was Caltin. As good as he was... she doubted he had with his tenure in the Silvers seen a fraction of a fraction of some of the things she had been working on ort planning. The eight galaxies filled with jedi or the twenty billion trrained were a showing of that. "Drrinks will be fine." She looked at Dats and offered a bow though. "It is good to see you though padawan and I am glad to see you at least stayed around some of the jedi."

Cerys Dyn

Cerys shot Gatz a glare. “Why would you purposefully avoid such an honour? Do you have issues with your mental acuity?”

”I do have a stiff shoulder after jarring it in a fall. Should it not resolve itself by tomorrow, I will attend your clinic, Padawan,”
she said to Gatz.

Cerys walked with the group as pleasantries were exchanged. She then gratefully took the beverage that was on offer. She was indeed parched. The desert was not a place that she frequented, though she felt obliged to correct the Zeltron on one comment. “I am more than accustomed to travelling long distances on foot. Just…not in the desert.”

She looked down at her uniform. It’s teal fabric and copper coloured accents were diminished greatly by the dust blown about on Jakku’s surface. Why the Jedi would choose such a lifeless word for an Enclave was beyond her. Her hand moved briefly over her sleeve, but she stopped after seeing the cloud of sand kicked up. “Apologies…it seems I should ask for usage of a refresher and laundry facilities.”

“Master Vaas was to introduce me to another of the Oaths. They have not permanent meeting place. Nor do they have any scheduled gatherings. They meet as the Force requires. Apparently…it was not required before Master Vaas’ passing,
” Cerys said. Just for the barest of moments, a flash of grief passed across her eyes. It was faint and gone in less than a blink. “My only recourse is to resort to the more mainline Jedi Order for completion of my training…though..”

She addressed all three Jedi with her words. “…I am unsure if there is much left of the old path among the New Jedi.“

“Why would you purposefully avoid such an honour? Do you have issues with your mental acuity?”

"Generally speaking, yes." Gatz beamed, "I like to think of it this way: Briana's the smart one. Lossa here is the fun one. I'm the pretty one."

Although, this new, professional, put together version of Lossa seemed as though she'd... lost a bit of that wild spirit he'd come to love. Maybe that was a good thing though. For all his fondness for the Zeltron Jedi, she'd been the least stable of the three of them until recently. If being mentally and emotionally healthy meant that she wasn't quite as chaotic as she'd once been, then that was a worthy trade.

Besides... it was kind of hot to watch her take charge. Gatz kept that to himself though. He didn't think the group would appreciate that observation.

"And hiding out in this Enclave to avoid such a thing is a horrible choice given I can call upon Master's Noble or Vanagor for an assessment of you."

"If you call Val, I'll tell her how much you really love her." Gatz threatened, "then you'll be forced to admit that you actually look up to her."

As if this wasn't the first place Valery would look for him. She could have found him within an hour. Called. She hadn't. Gatz knew why. Val was trying to give him the time and space he needed.

His trademark humor aside, it was nice to see the Jakku Enclave actually... have Jedi around. Especially a former Grandmaster of the Silvers. Matsu Ike's wisdom was something they all sorely needed. She couldn't fill the hole Romi had left behind, but hopefully she could guide them as they tried to honor the legacy the legendary Jedi Master had left behind.

Gatz was quiet during their trip in the lift, and quiet as he took a seat in the audience chamber. Lossa was doing her thing, and there really wasn't anything he could add. He didn't think Cerys would appreciate his input all that much anyways: she was, very much, a traditional Jedi.

And he was very much the opposite. Still, he found her training and her philosophy interesting, if nothing else.

"I have no doubt given all the goings on with the galaxy as it is. I appreciate your stopping by." Her comment directed to Matsu as they began their journey inside.

The conversation between Cerys and Gatz however took a sharp turn, and Lossa kept herself quiet at the comment. Differing practices and beliefs required room to co-exist with any ounce of peace, and suddenly being thrust together was no doubt bound to bring friction. Lossa did manage to keep herself from doing anything more than regarding the two with a watchful look.

Noting the shift away from potential conflict to something closer to amicable tolerance. Without needing to step in, she did listen to the statements made by Cerys.

"A refresher and laundering units are available for use. If you have nothing to change into we can provide Robes or other garments in the meantime." Her tone kept polite as she took her seat. The mention of being used to settings other than the desert wasn't missed as she doubled back.

"Arid settings present an altogether different set of challenges, and offer a surprising number of skills that can be applied to different environs." Ideas forming about getting another survival course going already alight in her mind as she looked to Gatz with a grin.

"Right now, that doesn't seem a bad idea to admit." Her usually sass gave way to the reminder of how quickly the galaxy could shift. Contemplative silence followed her words before she blinked, breathing deep.

The lack of meetings for her order was nothing of tremendous surprise. Different orders hosted different systems and even in the Outer Rim, meetings were usually only held as required without an sort of fixed schedule. Why would it be different for a group that seemed so reclusive?

"While the tenants of the mainline organizations may differ, many will respect your ways given the diversity of the Orders. I will not lie though, there will be those that challenge them. Or you personally for that matter." Polite but firm in her warning as she sipped from her own water.

"But that may simply be a way of affirming your beliefs in an ever changing galaxy, if you choose to view it that way."

She listened to the two padawans talking and the one seemed highly orthodox in ways... which was nice to see when she stood there. Getting a drink and she took a sip with a nod of her head. She looked at Gatz and spoke taking a small sip. "Fairly certain Lossa is the pretty one, you seem more the one with the strange powers." She said it while remaining there and the other padawan needed a few things as she spoke. IF you need equipment we have Jadelight in orbit, the fabricators can make some new clothing for you." She looked at Lossa. "THat was one of the things I guess I need to talk with you about. Exis and Jadelight stations are wonderful but they were made for Romi or left to her. THey will need a place to be kept now and the enclave could use them still. Her cache of crystals is also onboard."

Gatz sat there, cold bottle in his hand unopened. First he'd been called an idiot. Now he was being told he was strange.

All he'd tried to do was be affable and friendly.

"If you'll excuse me, there's something I need to tend to in the medbay."

With as polite a bow as he could manage, Gatz strode away.

Lily had a bit of a sweat on. She was fresh from a training session, having spent her morning pushing her fighting skills to their limit, she was still attempting to master the basics of every form as well as advancing her skills in Vaapad. Then she was also doing cardio and strength training to ensure that her body was getting stronger and improving to keep up with her combat skills. She dreaded the idea of being in a fight to her death and the weak link in her chain being the stamina she had. That was something she was hoping to weed out and ensure that she could move past. Jakku was a great place to do the training as well since the planet was a desert it pushed her to her limits even faster than she had been pushed on Eshan or Coruscant.

However, this had the consequence of training being extremely sweaty.

Having a towel wrapped around her neck and wiping the last bits of sweat that were coming off her, she noticed Lossa with two faces she was not super familiar with. One of them looked to be a Padawan around her age. Her mind clicked that this could be perfect in meeting someone new and getting a new friend in a Jedi. Walking over to the trio, she gave a beaming smile.

"Hey! I'm Lily Decoria. Padawan to Briana Sal-Soren Briana Sal-Soren and pleasure to meet you both." There was an excited tone to her voice as she introduced herself, "apologies for the sweaty appearance, I have been pushing my training as hard as I can. Hopefully it isn't too bad of a first impression for either of you." Lily's voice was deeply apologetic and held the accent of her nobility as she did think first appearances were very important when meeting new people.

The Force has a sense of humor.

A funny statement really, considering all that the Force encompasses and entails. Vanagor was in the middle of a workout and could swear that someone nearby was speaking of him. Mind you that he was not being paranoid (any more than normal) or hear anything ut the Force was telling him this happened.

So Vanagor stopped his workout and "followed the scent."

Down the corridors, in and out of the rooms, brought put out no results.

Ignoring the weird and "wanting" looks from others (afterall, the big man was in workout clothes) he plodded on. He found the aura of Matsu Ike Matsu Ike and Lossa Aureus Lossa Aureus so that was his heading. There was a pretty big group there as Gatz Derrevar Gatz Derrevar almost bumped into him, which would probably have knocked the poor kid on his butt.

Looking around he spike up.

Someone call me? Hey Master Ike? What are you doing here?

A welcoming smile crept across his face. It was new, but meaningful, she came through for him and his family at their lowest and he'd never forget that. Pointing towards Derravar in his last direction.

What's with him?

As more and more people joined the conversation, Cerys felt her shoulders tensing. She sipped her water, and bowed her head slightly. When the one Jedi known as Gatz departed, her brow furrowed. Perhaps he was going to schedule his promotion ceremony?

”Greetings…Jedi Decoria…you need not apologise for being consistent with your training. It shows a dedication to your purpose,”
she said, but quietly wondered just how many more muscles the woman really needed.

And then the personification of Lily’s possible target mass walked in the door. Cerys’ eyes grew slightly wider. Was this man human? “Ah…I believe Jedi Derrevar…had some healing tasks to perform.”

She turned back to Lossa, and finally addressed the suggestion of challenging one another‘s dogmas. “I do not fear their challenge…they will find the way of Oaths to be superior to any path offered by…” She paused looking about the room. She was after all a guest here. “…forgive me. I believe you are correct. It could be edifying for all involved.”

Well that was.... different as the one padawan suddenly left and almost ran into Caltin who came. She offered a bow of her head and looked at him. "I was bringing Romi her stations back after the refits when I heard the news about Coruscant... now I guess I am here to pass them along with several other things to Lossa and the enclave. as well as offer what I can." She said it while seeing Lily and gave a bow of her head. "Welcome." The petite jedi master remained there as the one padawan talking about her path and view was interesting enough.. she would love to hear more but now was not the time.. later perhaps. Her confidence was maybe the best part as the jedi master looked at Lossa and motioned with her eyes. "THat one is a keeper and could help you out well enough."

Gatz departing came as a surprise, and while she had intended to stop him, the arrival of Lily and Caltin gave her pause. Not allowing the lingering irritation to betray itself across her features as she watched Lily interact with Cerys.

The suspicion of Lily's hesitance with new people growing more from her watchful gaze on Kattada. A matter to address privately as Caltin mentioned someone speaking of him. A grin forming as Lossa raised her hand.

"I spoke of you. Good to see you Master Vanagor. You as well Lily." Amusement curling the edges of her grin further as her better judgment kept her from pinching her nose at their joint arrival. The feeling washed out the irritation thankfully as her eyes continued to look over each present. A brow raised at the topic of which path in life was superior bringing a thoughtful look to the Zeltron before she spoke.

"I won't argue the merits of one path over another without knowing the one that walks the path. But it is commendable to remain steadfast. I hope that Jakku will add to your commitment and see you along your path." Not wanting to be drawn into a long discussion before Cerys could get comfortable, she attempted to head off that vein of conversation for another time. Eyes drawn to the slight inward shift of her posture.

The body language Cerys was using suggested a similar case to Lily given the bustle of new faces present. Until she knew better and gained insight, was left unspoken to address other matters. Catching the look from Matsu she leaned a little in her seat to give the woman her attention.

"Agreed. Jakku will likely be best for her in the meantime. And thank you, for bringing what you have. I'll have to go over it with the Anchorites to properly catalog and implement things. Hopefully there are some training systems we can add to what we have. As exemplified by Vanagor and Decoria-" Flexing her own arm to further her point. "We may need to figure out how to alter the environment to provide a proper challenge at some point."

Inside the Enclave's audience chamber, away from the dry heat of the desert, Master Oukranos Cthylla stood staring at a wall. His back was to his wife Kassogtha, who watched him with all of her eyes. She didn't know the significance of the wall or why he had stopped here, but she sympathized with his grief.

Master Romi Jade Romi Jade 's death had hit them both quite hard. It felt like only yesterday Kass had planned out a hidden Jedi archive with her. But Romi had been one of Oukranos' instructors. He had grown up here at the Jakku Enclave. This was once his Temple, his Academy, his home.

"Do you think she'll come back as a Force Ghost?" Oukranos asked suddenly, turning his head slightly to peer at her over his shoulder. "Like Master Farlander?"

Kass hesitated. There had been rare occasions in which her long-dead master appeared in spirit to offer her guidance. "Romi was a very accomplished Jedi," she replied. "She touched the lives of many. If the Force wills it, perhaps she will make an appearance."

"Probably not for me," he murmured. "I never got to know her as well as I wish I had." Then, in almost a whisper, "I wish I had fought on Coruscant."

"Why?" she asked. When he didn't immediately answer, she moved closer to him, curling a comforting tentacle around his shoulders. His hand clasped it gratefully and he sighed.

"I know I wouldn't last ten minutes on a battlefield like that. But at least I would have been there. Sometimes being Pylantian feels less like I am an innocent, and more like I'm a coward."

The door opened and a small party of Jedi entered the chamber. Oukranos and Kass were far enough away from them so as not to be too disturbed by their presence, though Kass couldn't help but observe the group out of curiosity with some of her other eyes. She recognized Matsu Ike Matsu Ike and Gatz Derrevar Gatz Derrevar among them; the rest were strangers to her. Two women, a Zeltron and a blonde, were having a discussion about traditional and non-traditional Jedi. After just a few minutes, Gatz left, apparently upset about something one of the others had said. His exit coincided with the arrival of Master Caltin Vanagor Caltin Vanagor and Lily Decoria Lily Decoria , both of whom seemed to have just come from physical training.

It made for a rather eclectic group, one that seemed largely disconnected from the tragedy which had brought the Cthyllas here. Kass made no attempt to bridge the gap. They didn't need her raining on their parade, so to speak.

Faith is the heroism of the intellect.

Caltin was willing to stand there and listen to the conversation, but Darcu… Er Aureas seemed to be taking charge and showing a new ward around. MatsU was doing her thing.

Why do I suddenly want a Slurpee?

Realizing how badly he needed a sonic shower, the big man was just about to excuse himselv when Master Cthylla made an appearance and made a remarkable comment that stopped him cold.

Wait, what?

In an instant the massive Jedi Master’S disposition changed from from happy-go-lucky to suspicious and combative at the mention of Romi Jade Romi Jade in the manner it was.

Wwwhy is Master Jade being referred to in the past tense?

Looking between Lossa, Matsu and Kassogatha, Caltin's demeanor sank to anger? Not at them, clearly, but the news he is anticipating hearing.

What happened?

in the time they worked alongside each other, there was a friendship, a respect… almost familial…

… and anyone who knows Caltin knows how protective he is of family.
