"I- okay. I don't- I don't want to rest anymore."

Loomi was very happy to hear this. Maybe it was a little selfish of her. Right now that didn't really matter. Her friend was back and would be staying around. That was enough for her. The Godoan finally stepped back, giving Aliris the space she no doubt needed after the length of her hug. It was very good to finally have her back.

"R-right," Loomi sighed with an awkward smile, rubbing at her neck. "I'll let you get ready then. Th-there's an orientation right now, and Braze should be there. I'll meet you there okay?"

Mica arrived a little late.

Still struggling to adjust to her new life as a Jedi on Coruscant, Mica found solace in her training; the constant distraction of lightsaber drills, the deeper sleep she got after exhausting days in the training room, and the feeling of progress measured by the soreness of her muscles. Unfortunately, youthful vigor and mild dissociation could only fuel her so much. Some of her instructors suggested she relax, get away for a bit. Attending the Veridian Academy orientation and spending some time there would be good for her, they said. Well, they probably knew best.

Mica drifted quietly into the grand auditorium. She could immediately feel a buzz of chatter and energy amongst the attendees. There were a lot of Jedi here, obviously, but none looked familiar. She didn't really know anyone, anyway. But there was still plenty of time to remedy that.

Situated in the back of the hall, the young padawan leaned her small frame on an elegantly sculpted pillar. As she waited for the ceremony to begin, her tummy began to rumble. Mica looked around curiously, even standing on her tippy-toes to get a better view of her surroundings. Weren't there supposed to be snacks at these kinds of things? She would kill for an Adarian-style donut and a cup of caf right now.

Tirin smiled as he watched the two girls. He was overjoyed to have Aliris back, and even more so to have been lucky enough to witness her waking up. He knew he would have to ensure she was alright and check for any lingering effects on her psyche from the traumatic experience, but for now, he was happy to let them just be kids and enjoy their time together.

Tirin made sure the place was tidied up, and once Aliris was ready, he led her out of the newly minted medical facility she'd been staying in and into the courtyards. The place had undergone major developments and was now abuzz with activity. He led her to the auditorium, walking with the two girls in tow.

"We can celebrate this evening and have a nice dinner for you, Aliris," Tirin assured her. "You can also pick out your own room within the temple as you see fit," he added with a warm smile. "I'm sure you girls will enjoy making it into a cozy little home."

Once they had settled in, Tirin approached his colleagues and greeted them all fondly, thanking them for their attendance and support. He smoothed down his robes before stepping up to greet and welcome the new students, introducing himself as the Headmaster of the academy.

"Welcome, Padawans, to the Viridian Jedi Academy. Today marks the beginning of a journey that will shape you into the Jedi Knights you are destined to become. You have taken your first steps into a larger world, and it is our privilege as instructors to guide you."

He paused, letting his words settle before continuing.

"At this academy, you will learn the ways of the Force—the importance of unity, discipline, and compassion. Together, we will create a community that supports each other through both trials and triumphs. The Force flows through each of us and connects all living things. It is what binds us, and through it, we will find our strength."

He looked over the gathered Padawans with a reassuring smile.

"Trust your Masters, trust each other, and most importantly, trust yourselves. Believe in your intuition, be confident in your abilities, and understand that you can overcome any challenge. Look to your fellow Padawans for friendship and support, as our relationships will make us stronger. This journey will be challenging, but it will provide you with the opportunity to grow in wisdom, bravery, and attunement to the Force."

Tirin gestured toward the other instructors.

"I am honored to introduce myself as Headmaster Tirin. Now, I will give the floor to my fellow instructors, who are just as eager to welcome you and share their wisdom. May the Force be with you, always, as you embark on this journey."

Braze smiled at Jackie. "That's okay, you don't need to worry too much about making a big name for yourself. You can take things one step at a time. If you ever wanna learn a thing or two about sparring, I'd be—"

He paused, his eyes dilating as his words caught in his throat. Something shifted in the air, an unfamiliar but unmistakable feeling. It couldn't be… could it? Without thinking, his hand moved to the Eshan charm around his neck—the same charm that matched the one Aliris Tremiru had. It glowed softly, and in that moment, he wondered if hers might be glowing too.

Braze shifted uneasily in his seat, his attention snapping away from Jackie as he looked around, scanning the room. His voice dropped to a murmur, tinged with sadness. "I don't see her…" His words hung in the air as he clutched the charm tighter, his brow furrowing. It felt too real, too different to be something he'd imagined.

He glanced around again, his expression flickering with a hint of anxiety before he forced himself to refocus. "Sorry… uh… I thought I felt someone familiar nearby." His voice was steadier now, though a note of hesitation lingered. "But yeah, if you need help with anything, I'd be happy to help. Do you know where you wanna set up your bunk? Or what section you want a room in?"

Braze was there?

Aliris smiled softly as she nodded to Loomi. It'd be good to see Braze again, to see them both. Her gaze shifted to Tirin as she nodded once, giving him a brighter smile. Picking her own room? "So long as there's no bacta tanks, yeah?" She joked before she did finally get up to get ready, draping a robe over the medsuit she'd been wearing. She'd change out of that later, probably. Part of her was sure the robot monitor in the corner of the room was still glaring daggers at all of them.

She followed Tirin, her gaze traveling over the unfamiliar temple. It was warm here. Cozy. And- Aliris paused for a moment, her gaze fixating on something. She saw something shifting. Something that didn't match the warmth. But it was fleeting, it seemed, as it was gone the moment she looked. Her brow furrowed, but the moment she was asked if she was alright she glanced back and nodded.

A side effect of the coma, perhaps. That was fine. She didn't want to be put back in the medical wing so soon. Especially since as she gripped the charm around her neck she could feel the connection.

She stepped into the room, eyes wide as she scanned through the crowd. Where was he? Her gaze paused once she did find him. Silver hair, green eyes. Older looking now. Taller. A pained expression took over for a moment, regret that she had been asleep for so long before overwhelming joy at seeing her friend safe and sound. So, she ran, sprinting right for Braze.

Only to trip the last couple of feet. Her legs weren't completely hers again yet.

Speeches were not necessarily a task Orion planned out beforehand nor something he so readily gave out without any warning. He preferred giving such encouraging remarks or arguments when the moment required it and nothing less. While perhaps an audience of bright-eyed younglings and padawans would be a situation where a speech or two might be required, there were far better people appointed to the task than himself. Jedi Knights and Masters who had gained much more life experience and teaching through their years than Orion ever had.

And thank goodness for that. Orion had no idea what he would say up on the stage. Instead, his arms remained crossed as he leaned against one of the auditorium walls. His eyes remained trained on the exits before scanning across the wide arrangement of various students. His job was to keep everyone here safe. Nothing more and nothing less. At least until he was given a different assignment and would be required to leave.

Then his attention snapped to something fast moving. A girl ( Aliris Tremiru Aliris Tremiru ). She belonged here, as far as Orion could tell, but there was something . . . off. A bad feeling. Perhaps intrinsic due to his training and instincts.

However, Orion shook it off as he watched the girl trip and fall. It was like watching the entire ordeal in slow motion. He could have ran over there and caught her before she fell. But he did not want to spook the students or the girl for that matter.

Nor should he tip his hand so early.

Instead, his eyes closed as he focused. His light brown eyes briefly flashing a subtle shade of blue as he reached out with the Force, past dozens if not hundreds of students. The blonde girl would be given strength and composure as her body moved out a volition that was not her own. Instead, Orion course corrected her feet to catch herself before she tripped completely and to keep her steady, long enough for someone to help her or for the blonde child to help herself.

And at that moment, Orion would release his hold on keeping her upright and steady. His eyes opened before he returned to his duties at his post. Watching and waiting.

" . . . "

Silent as his attention immediately shifted to the student body and teachers as a whole.

He was not here to recruit, or give speeches. He was here to support.

I must admit, this place is impressive.

Walking out and around the other Jedi, he listened to the administrator. There were clearly several who wanted to learn the “old ways” and definitive methods on how to act and look like the Jedi as a whole. This was something he hoped would succeed. He was determined to make it work and help others to do the same. He was confident that with hard work and dedication, this Academy would help enable the Jedi to be stronger than ever. He was actually excited to be here to witness the beginning of it.

Walking up to one of the larger groups, he noticed the Administrator and approached. Though they might have never met, he already had, and showed an appreciation for those who show it. This facility definitely showed it.

Greetings. Impressive facility. If you need any assistance from the Shadow Temple on Kashyykk, I’ll be sure to leave my contact information.

Loomi smiled as Aliris followed Tirin off. She'd be happy to see Braze, no doubt. Loomi herself? She needed to go dry herself off. The Godoan was so concerned with seeing her awakened friend that she had gotten herself covered in Bacta in the process. She should dry off before going back into the orientation room. The young padawan was quick about it, scrambling back to her room and quickly changing into a different set of clothes. As she was returning to the hall, she could hear the words of her master on the center stage...

"I am honored to introduce myself as Headmaster Tirin. Now, I will give the floor to my fellow instructors, who are just as eager to welcome you and share their wisdom. May the Force be with you, always, as you embark on this journey."

That was good. She wasn't late to anything. Loomi smiled and turned her head...

Only to trip the last couple of feet. Her legs weren't completely hers again yet.

Only to see her freshly awoken friend trip.

"I am honored to introduce myself as Headmaster Tirin. Now, I will give the floor to my fellow instructors, who are just as eager to welcome you and share their wisdom. May the Force be with you, always, as you embark on this journey."

"Right... guess someone has to start..."

Jasper hoisted himself up to his feet, stepping up to the stage's podium. He gave a half-wave as he stepped up, quickly composing himself before speaking.

"Morning, everyone," he began. "Jasper Kai'el, Jedi Master... A lot of you may know me from my time on the New Jedi Order's high council, but I'll be acting as the academy's battlemaster for the foreseeable future. That means I'll be responsible for seeing you prepared for encounters within combat scenarios. Even if you lean more towards pacifism, it is inevitable that every Jedi will find themselves raising their lightsaber to defend themselves or another. I hope to foster the skills you all will need to not only see you survive these encounters, but hopefully also see other lives preserved in the process. This, of course, will culminate in your Trials of Skill, a vital benchmark on the road to knighthood. For some of you, combat may be the cornerstone of your demonstration of skill. Regardless of such, I look forward to working with you all to hone your talent. Thank you."

That felt wordy. Had he said too much or too little? No, it was probably fine. With a polite dip of his head, Jasper returned to his seat and left the floor open for others of the faculty to speak.

“Well being with jedi, I assumed that being a big shot was out of the question entirely. You know, no emotions or passions or whatever.” To Jackie it felt like he would need to disregard his own dreams now. At least for the time being. Then the pale boy trailed off, seemingly distracted by something.

They seemed to be looking for some sort of girl. Maybe they just recalled something about someone. Jackie merely shrugged as Brazed explained their sudden distraction. “Nah I ain’t got any idea about where I’ll be staying here or what I’ll be doing. I don’t even know why ‘old man’ wants me here anyway. Maybe just to get away from all the hustle and bustle or something, I duno’.”

A second later Jackie senses something too. Causing him to look over to witness what was just about to occur. Noticing it before it actually happened. His blue eyes focused on some girl just before she tripped and fell. Jackie didn’t react to it beyond raising a brow some. Unfazed by the little mistake

Braze was listening to Jackie talk, and he was admittedly finding the way he spoke kind of amusing. He briefly wondered if Jackie had picked up that manner of speaking from where he came from, and he also found himself wondering who his old man was.

"Well, I don't have anyone near where I've picked to sleep, so you're welcome to be my neighbor if you like," Braze offered softly. Before he could ask any of the hundreds of questions swirling in his mind, he glanced over and his eyes lit up at the sight of Aliris Tremiru Aliris Tremiru running toward him. He blinked, watching her trip, and instinctively moved to help her if she fell, offering his hand despite his own injuries.

"Woah, hey there, Goldilocks, don't go falling for me now," Braze teased. "Are you alright?" he asked, offering her a warm smile as he quickly scanned her for any minor scrapes or wounds. He wanted to pull her tightly into a hug but held back. Pulling her in would only reveal this was a dream, and he'd wake up to find his friend wasn't really there.

He felt an odd mix of surreal sensations as he marveled at her. The force radiated from him like a heat lamp, his emotions flickering on and off like a switchboard. He was positively elated to see her, and his mental and emotional shields dropped completely. He was simply overjoyed—and perhaps a bit stunned—to see her, even if she had tripped.

Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted Loomi Loomi and smiled even brighter, before feeling a fleeting twinge of unease at the memory of the last time they'd all been together. He shook his head briefly, dismissing the thought, and continued to smile—a goofy, real smile that reached his eyes.

He waved Loomi over. They could all sit together with their new... pink... friend. The irony of the moment was not lost on Braze.

"Shi-"

Aliris had never been shy on swearing, but stopped herself juuust shy of the actual swear as she found herself not hitting the ground. The Force. Someone had used it to keep her upright, much to her surprise. Who? She wasn't sure, but that didn't matter right now. She might thank them later. Instead, she was focused on Braze. She didn't even take his hand, just taking the moment she didn't fall on her face to instead throw her arms around his shoulders and hug him tight.

Or, well, tight as she could. She wasn't strong, not after how long she'd been asleep.

"I'm sorry- I- I'm just-"

There weren't any words. Like she had with Loomi, she just hugged Braze as tight as she could. He was alright. He seemed injured, but, he wasn't dead. That was enough for her right now.

Loomi was all smiles as she made her way over. This was nostalgic. She couldn't even remember how long ago it had been since they had been together like this. It wasn't enough to distract her from the new person, on account of how tall and pink she was. The Godoan stepped over, giving a polite dip of her head.

"Nice to meet you," she greeted. "I'm Loomi. The headmaster of the academy is my teacher."

Oh, right. And Aliris's too now that she thought about it. There was so much going on it was hard to keep heads or tails of it all. It seemed they were going to have a great deal to do.

"Your master's up there right now," Loomi noted to Braze. She paused before turning back to Jackie. "Who's your master?"

It seemed as though the no emotions part of the code must not be that strictly enforced. At least that’s how the zeltron felt while watching the scene unfold. He felt a little awkward witnessing what must’ve been a long awaited reunion between three best friends. Part of it made him internally miss his own friends back on Bonadan. Looking away from the friendly reunion Jackie slouched in his seat and crossed his arms.

That was until he was addressed again. This time by one of the girls that approached and introduced herself. The zeltron wondered if she was kind of like the daughter of the principal at this school. He looked up at the yellow one eyed girl. “Hey… I’m Jackie…” He replied simply, giving her his name. “I’m currently Master Valendale’s responsibility." Jackie added, answering Loomi’s question.

Braze embraced Aliris, hugging her tightly. Despite his injury and the doctor's orders, he lifted her up and spun her around once before setting her gently back on her feet.

"You're just perfect!" he said simply, a warm smile on his face.

"Aliris, this is Jackie. Jackie, this is Aliris," Braze added, feeling the need to introduce his new friend to the blonde girl. Loomi and Jackie seemed to have exchanged greetings well enough already. "We were just talking about lightsabers, I think," Braze trailed off. He turned to Aliris with a curious look. "You've never made one of those either, have you, Aliris?" he asked.

die2vs5-7dd4a30c-7114-4607-a099-2b5886945431.png

Aliris's face burned, but whether it was because of the spin or the follow up question she didn't know. "No.. I hadn't, yet." In fact, the closest she'd gotten was when she stole Braze's lightsaber to try and only partially bleed his kyber to make it her own. It was an embarrassing thought, to say the least.

"Are we going to mame some soon..?" She.. Wasn't ready for that, that much was certain. Her eyes shifted to the Zeltron as she gave a little nod. "Aliris, yeah. My name. I- .. Hi." Her face burned now as she stared towards the ground. She'd realized it. Hugging Braze like that, in this crowd.

How embarrassing! She could melt into the floor now. Not that she regretted it, but still! Was he bkushing? Was he embarrassed? She glanced up, briefly, to her friend.

Ah. No. He wasn't. Another simbering realization that things had changed. Her gaze fell back down for a brief moment before she sucked in a breath. And exhaled. The smile returned, bright as ever.

"It's good to meet you, Jackie. I kinda slept in m, so, that's why I'm late."

"It's good to meet you, Jackie. I kinda slept in m, so, that's why I'm late."

"That's a way to put it," Loomi noted with a chuckle.

It was nice to be more carefree about the whole ordeal now that it was finally over. She was happy that her friend was back. And there was a new friend, one who was training under the winged man. She had met him a few times, and he certainly seemed like a kind man.

He felt off. Awkward, maybe. Did he feel like an outsider? Loomi understood that feeling pretty well.

"W-well, it's very nice to meet you," she stated in response. "Uhhhh... Oh, that reminds me. I was thinking that I'd organize for all of us to bring food for a first-week, welcome, party sort of thing. I think that you should come and get to know everyone. And there will be free food..."

A wide, warm smile spread across her face. People liked free food. She certainly did. That was a great way to get people included and not feeling left out, right?

Jackie really felt like he had no place in the friendly reunion that was taking place before him. He figured that they’d all just wanna interact with each other and leave him alone for the rest of the orientation. But the three of them seemed pretty adamant about incorporating the zeltron in the moment.

He listened to Braze introduce him to the blond girl, Aliris. Who then explained that she’d almost overslept through this whole orientation. “Oh, um, nice to meet you too, Aliris.” These three just seemed far too friendly for him. Not like that other pale boy he was in class with prior who had kinda gotten on Jackie’s nerves. It seemed like Jedi might be a bit of a mixed back. Which wasn’t shocking if the order was casting such a large net to recruit new members like himself.

“Bring food?” The zeltron teen asked after Loomi shared her idea. “I ain’t no cook. I wouldn’t have any idea what to make or bring…” He expressed, sharing some concern over messing up such an idea if he was invited to it. Getting to actually experience ‘proper food’ was a new thing for him also.

Braze flashed Jackie a smarmy grin. "Well, you could just bring yourself. Or maybe ask your Master to teach you how to make something—or help you out," he suggested, his tone laced with playful mischief.

"I think it's a great idea, though, Loomi Loomi . " His gaze shifted, spotting Thea Nyko Thea Nyko nearby. He raised a hand to wave her over, a friendly gesture inviting her to join the small group. "Hey Thea, You can come too, if you like," he called lightly. As he spoke, his fingers brushed against the little trinket he carried—a match to the one Aliris had.

A devious smirk crept across his face as he leaned ever so slightly into Aliris Tremiru Aliris Tremiru 's shoulder, nudging her gently. The motion was subtle, more a slow, deliberate press of his shoulder against hers than an actual shove—enough to be noticeable, but not enough to send her tumbling. He stepped back, a peculiar, knowing smile playing on his lips.

Loomi Loomi might recognize the gesture. Braze had pulled this little trick on her a few times. He seemed smug about it, as if he'd found some private amusement in her reaction. Aliris's response, however, was anyone's guess.

Despite the silly grin on his face, Braze appeared to be in an unusually giddy mood, his demeanor light and carefree. Still, there was a hint of caution in his actions. He had to be especially careful with Aliris, knowing how weak she was after nearly losing her balance just moments ago.

Thea had been leaning against a nearby pillar, arms loosely crossed, watching the scene unfold from a comfortable distance. She wasn't the type to insert herself into every conversation, preferring instead to observe until something piqued her interest—or until someone noticed her.

At the sound of her name, though, her expression shifted ever so slightly, the guarded lines of her face softening. She pushed off the pillar with a graceful ease, stepping closer.

"And what are you inviting me to come do exactly?" She hadn't been paying attention to their conversation, so was unaware of what they were planning to do.
