Jedi Brainstorming

I could care less what your tags say, if you want to write, I welcome you gladly!

If you want, we can go over your character sheet and see how he might fit in best IC with the faction!

Regarding the Anzat story-line, I want to voice my support of it. I think it's interesting and a good way to introduce the incoming wave of FU writers to the GR Jedi community.

As for initiating the story, I like the idea of a sudden intervention by the Anzat, but feel that the target should be something crucial to the Jedi. A repository of knowledge, a critical political summit between Jedi leaders, or another kind of Jedi facility that is important to the Republic and the Order both.
We want these Anzat to be taken seriously as a threat, so their entrance ought to be substantial, I would say.

[member="Michael Sardun"], I understand you're hesitant to jump into a story, and that the status of the faction may change your perception of the Order, but I think we can find a happy middle ground for the time being. If your character were to respond to the initial Anzat actions as an individual, rather than a part of the greater Jedi Order (which very well makes sense considering he only recently returned), then his views on the overall Order may not necessarily come into play yet. That at least buys you some time to find out where the faction is going, but does not require we delay the story or your participation in it.

Fall stories can be wonderful to lead and merely participate in. One issue I think we tend to run into however is these developments taking place without any discussion between writers. Not to say any writer needs permission to turn their character from the light to the dark, but seeing as it does alter relations IC, writer relations tend to suffer in cases where no warning or discussion takes place.
Often times our characters are more intimately linked to one another than we realize, and making such alterations suddenly can force other writers to either figure out how to compensate within their own characters, or simply accept the new-dark sider regardless.
Things go more smoothly for all involved when writers desiring to turn their characters to the dark side talk about doing so with their peers, giving everyone a chance to participate in the story at a capacity that makes IC sense for their own characters.

[member="Ali Hadrix"] I'm up for cracking some Anzati skulls, but when it comes to locations, I don't know anything since nothing listed and I've just returned.

[member="Dax Fyre"]

That's definitely a valid storyline and certainly an interesting one to play. Feel free to roll with it and toss in ideas that might lead to the fall, so we can help you out with that storyline!

I definitely agree that Jedi exist to fight the Dark Side, and it's something we should work with. A surprise attack from the Anzati is a good call, I think, and I agree with [member="Ali Hadrix"] that we should aim for something more substantial. I think they wouldn't care a whole lot about the Republic, but specifically about the Republic, since they were between various iterations of the Republic. A Jedi summit or really important ceremony might be a good one to start with.

We can figure out locations pretty easy, I think, once we figure out a big plot.

Yeah I've had expierence with sch things happening in other roleplay forums. Hence why I intend to keep people I rp with in those related threads apprised of Dax's current affiliation. At the moment he's a new character though and I'm still working on building relations for him and what not.

[member="Tiland Kortun"]
I'm still working on how the fall will happen. It'll largely depend on Dax's relations with other and what happens in regards to them, since he doesn't care very much about himself, but cares deeply for others. [member="Krest"] had already offered his assistance, and so I've begun talking to him. Whether or not Dax's fall gets incorporated into this story we're talking about here, remains to be seen.

In regards to the overall story, I like the idea of an Anzati ambush. Just tossing in an idea, they could attack as several prominent members of the Order, accompanied by various others, go on a pilgramige to a newly discovered Force Wellspring? Sacred ground and all that.

What if the Jedi were working within Hutt Space, on Nar Shaddaa for example, amidst a ruined Hutt Crime Syndicate? As all that territory is now unoccupied, the Jedi could attempt to improve the region for the better. That would provide us with stories consisting of Jedi-led efforts to wipe out remaining crime organizations, drug production, slaving rings, etc.
CSAF could provide a lot of assistance in this effort, essentially cleaning up the region. The Anzat Dark Siders could be manipulating the criminal infrastructure against the Jedi to thwart our efforts and destroy the budding Jedi Order before it can achieve its first validating victory.
This is something we can certainly approach Crime writers with to act as participants/opposition. If they're looking to acquire worlds for a major faction, we could write part of these stories within one of their dominions in exchange for their characters' participation.
It would be interesting to approach this story of Dark Side revenge and intrigue from the angle of geopolitical police actions.

Communication is definitely important. I often forget to remain cognizant of who all is involved in the threads I'm writing with, so I fail to communicate properly with even important characters' writers at times.
That's why knowing one another as writers is important too. Only communicating here and there through PM can limit the evolution and inclusion of the discussion between writers. Each writer is free to maintain their anonymity, but I prefer to get to know the people I work with. :)

[member="Michael Sardun"]

I'm glad you agree. ^_^

[member="Ali Hadrix"]

That idea of working out in Hutt space is a really good idea. That's a really rich story background for us to build on, especially if we talk to the criminal writers and bring some of them in. Not sure if we have any criminal factions trying to get to major yet though.

I'm actually not worried about figuring out how to involve Krest in it. He's a friend of Lady Kay, and a simple introduction would get that ball rolling.

And I still offer Ferus as the big dude behind the Anzati if you lot are interested. He seeks nothing but knowledge and corruption, so to give a driving force behind why Anzati would suddenly attack and how they knew where could offer a potential investigation RP, which I see rarely done. Especially with Jedi. [member="Tiland Kortun"] [member="Zaren Bouqi"] [member="Dax Fyre"]

And there's always the PC people I could bring in as opposition. If you guys are interested of course. Otherwise, I'm completely down with following what ever else you peeps want to happen!

Kay hasn't been directly involved in the Republic since Jack Sparrow was elected Supreme Chancellor and she quit(was fired) from the Senate. But she has helped them out from time to time. So she can still help with introductions. She just doesn't have any say in what the Republic does...lol

[member="Tiland Kortun"]

Thanks! I see it as a good opportunity as well. We can extend the invitations at the very least and see if anyone bites.

[member="Krest"]

Ferus sounds like a big deal that we could get a lot of writing value out of. I would support his inclusion in the story, though if we go with the Anzat Force Users, maybe Ferus could operate as a contending force of his own?

[member="Ali Hadrix"]

Most definitely! Sounds like a really good plan.

@Krest

Ferus could also add quite a bit to the story, and I think especially as a force of his own. The Anzati are more set up now as a threat returning from the past with their own vendetta, but adding Ferus in with the mix would certainly make things quite a bit more challenging.

[member="Ali Hadrix"] @Krest @Michael Sardun [member="Zaren Bouqi"]

I talked with Xis, whose starting up the Black Sun again, and things are good to go with some initial Black Sun opposition/ writing partners as they get people. So, unless anyone has more ideas to add, I'll try and get the post up today.
