Strengths:
  • The Blueshift mounts highly advanced short-range sensors, suitable for getting in-depth scans of nearby vessels.
  • The Blueshift is a well-rounded combatant, durable and hard-hitting, comparable to a Skipray blastboat. It can punch above its weight.
Weaknesses:
  • Like any heavyweight, the Blueshift is relatively sluggish.
  • The laser turret must be fixed forward or turned over to computer control; there is no space for a gunner.
Description: The Blueshift is a versatile two-seater bounty hunting ship, in the vein of bounty hunting ships all over the 'verse. With a small brig and an outsize sensor suite, the Blueshift can find and contain just about anyone. Its versatile armament lets it take a swing at larger ships, if handled right. A molecular shield generator siphons a portion of incoming energy attacks into usable power.

Like many bounty hunting ships, the Blueshift does just about everything moderately well, and can be tough at close range, but doesn't excel at anything in particular. A failed prototype, it was sold at auction to a collector who wound up in desperate circumstances, then changed hands rapidly until it wound up with the mercenary John Ash. Since then, the Republic - including the mechanic [member="Jasper Varanin"] - has tinkered with the Blueshift to fit various circumstantial needs. At this point, the ship is pretty much 'modded out', unwilling to accept new aftermarket modifications.

Fairly vanilla with a few bumps, 10 posts of Dev awarded goes to the dev which more than covers the bonuses on the ship. Only need the thread/post where the award was given, or have Spencer contact me to confirm the Dev Award and we're golden.
