Journey to the Jed'aii

Kurenai rubbed her temple a little as the familiar look of streaking white lines started to fly past the ship as it entered hyperspace. She'd never thought to be someone to take care of a drug addicted former force sensitive solider but here she was, piloting a small shuttle through one of the many trade route with a [member="General Echo Detla"] hopefully sleeping on one of the spare cabins.

Was she disappointment with the woman's behaviors? no not in the slightest, she personally knew about the horrors of war and what it did to the mind, the pain and suffering people went through. Her own life in the military had seen a decent into drug use too, but such was over 700 years ago, in that time the violence and destruction of war no longer effected her.

Every now and then Kurenai may spark up a cigar to take some stress away but as a whole she was desensitized to violence and killing, in all aspects not a good thing to have. "Hmm I better go check on her just to be certain she is okay", last thing she needed was her waking up with nigh terrors or some other form of PTSD. Setting the sip to auto pilot the veteran mercenary made her way down the halls, opening the door to Detla's quarters.

She had not a clue how long she had been here. The last thing Echo knew was laying down in her alley to sleep. There was a strange dream, with a scent like a cold wind then nothing. Wait....

since when did wind have a scent? With a tired groan, she sat up and looked around. In a ship..... and she could guess whos. That Dark Jedi Knight... what was her name? Oh well, Echo was never good with names anyways. She tried to climb out of the bed, not that she wanted to, it was a lot softer than concrete floors. The general ended up rolling onto the floor as pain hit her.

"Ow." she growls as she hits the steel flooring. Her head and body throbbed with pain. : Kriff….. Kriff… Kriff!" she hissed as she pulled out a small container of small, white pills. Shaking 8 out, she gulped them down dry. Laying on the floor, Echo waited for them to take effect.....

They never did....

The pain grew worse. shaking, she tried to keep herself from crying out. No need to bother the 'host' about her issues. Probably would not care anyways. She looked at the container, 8 more pills left. In desperation to escape, she downed the rest of the bottle.

Her senses started to spin, everything colliding, but the pain never faded.

Everything hurt, it was too much. As much as the General did not want to admit it...

She needed help.

Echo laid there, shivering.. it felt as if she was doing so for hours. She had enough, she wanted this to end.

Taking a small dagger, the retired general placed the blade to her left arm. She made several deep cuts in said arm and wrist before dropping the weapon.

It was getting darker, but the pain still lingered.

Entering the room Kurenai was greeted to the smell of blood, it was different, the blood of someone who was a drug attic, the hint of unnatural chemicals wafting into her nose but such was not her worry. Busting into the room Kurenai did not hesitate to quickly run over to the woman, using the force to hold her wound close while checking her pules, still very much alive, attempting suicide like she had seen many others in the past. Nothing seemed to change about veterans, well at lest in the way they tired to take themselves out of the fight, but to heck with that.

Wasting no time Kurenai quickly pulled her collar down, exposing the general neck, the sharp pricks of her vampire fangs penetrating the skin with ease, reaching one of the life giving blood vessels. Though instead of sucking anything else out the warm and tingling sensation of energy would flow into [member="General Echo Delta"] body, her wounds starting to close up, being revitalized. Maybe not dealing with the pain or drug withdrawals but definitely making her feel more, refreshed and strong, almost a stamina boost.

She was unsure if this would wake the young woman up but at the least it would keep her alive until they reached the Jed'aii, "such a foolish child... but I understand why you did this". To many death was a sweet release that would get them away from all their suffering, though to someone untrained it was simply the end, but if Kurenai could teach her in the force, there was always the chance for more.

Echo winced weakly as she felt something sharp in her neck. A wash of energy enabled her to open her eyes, seeing the host over her.

Everything was still foggy, but at least her head stopped spinning. "Kriff… damn it hurts." She attempted to push herself into a sitting position, but pain exploded once more.

She yelped as she landed back unto the floor. "Alright, ya got me, what do you want?"

Kurenai drew away from the general as she came back around, quickly placing her hands on the woman temple, drawing away what she could of the pain while conversing. "It is clear to me you suffer from PTSD and other battlefield related mental illness, you are a chem addict and have many other Issues". "Is it pity? maybe, you remind me of myself many years ago, or perhaps it was just coincidence, but one thing is for certain, I am going to help you get over your problems and who know train you in the force".

[member="General Echo Delta"]

"Not sure why you wanna bother, I'll probably end up dead in a month anytime." Echo laughed bitterly. She tried to move away from the woman, but did not have the energy to do so.

"However, if you think there is someone to help me, let's go for it. Not like I have anything else to do."

Echo felt the pain spiking once more. She tried to stay quiet, but it was getting too much. The room spun, her senses faded in and out.

She felt a sound slip out of her mouth...

A scream of agony.

"Dead, perhaps but doe not mean I will not try", perhaps she should turn her into a vampire, that would probably help, but for now she could only comfort the woman... perhaps it wold be best to glean were her PTSD comes from. As another cry of pain came from [member="General Echo Delta"] Kurenai quickly sent a stasis like feeling though her, hoping to calm the woman down, though not put to sleep completely, "Delta, would you be able to tell me what causes your pain, a memory, a period, or just everything, I think I have a way to help", sort of, memory rub was not a skill she had learned much but was probably the best way to deal with any past traumatic events... for the time being. She just needed to get her back to the nclave, then a more experienced master could take reign of things, 'such a troubled child... pity'.

"I.. remember when I woke up in the med bay of some ship.... the Hellsinger I think it was. They said something about an explosion, but I did not remember anything before waking up. They asked my name, I told them Echo Delta. They did not seem happy, but why?

After that was a blur of the horrors of war. I was placed in a group of fellow force users. We were trained to kill in secret...……….. It felt wrong, but I did not know what else to do...…. had to follow orders...…...

Everything hurts.... All memories are just blurred together, nothing is clear..... used drugs to keep the pain and the rush of confusing memories away."

Echo panted when she finished, she was getting too tired for this....

Her answers were, less then helpful, but at the lest she knew something about how this started, though the best way to get to the bottom was to looking into the women's memories and see it first hand. "Delta, would you allow me to look into your memories? I could perhaps alter some of it if that would prevent your pain, unless there is something wrong with your brain in a physical sense".

The later if true, such would require some sort of medical surgery, not something she could do in any form, often just relying on her regeneration to get by any wounds. "If you do not wish that just tell me a way to ease your pain, but do not say killing you, this situation you are experience is something I have gone through many times over, and to heck if you think I am going to give up on you".

[member="General Echo Delta"]

"Altering will not help, I do not have a lot of memories to begin with. Medical General said something about amnesia, but I did not quite understand him. Besides, the memories remind me of how I failed." Echo exhaled, her breath shuddering as it escaped her lips.

"My blasted left leg hurts like kriff….. so does my chest. Feel like something is pooling there. It stays a inky worm and bites, hard. Ever since I started using the force, the sensation has always been there. Was given a medical drug to ease the pain so I could work. Once the war was over, I and several other were tossed to the side like garbage. They said we would find work, they were wrong. No one wanted to hire us. We tried to stay together, but one by one... they died. One by knife, one by speeder, one by drugs, one by jumping from a building, the other..... not too sure what killed the fool, sickness or cold. I am the last, still barely hanging on. Why though? Why am I? Leg is an old war wound, but I always end up twisting or breaking it."

Echo could feel a crazed laugh coming from her lips, but her sense of caring had long fled. "I guess, something is making me. I've tried every way I could think of to end it, none of it worked. Is this my destiny? To be tossed around in the sea? What is destiny anyways?"

The laugh comes again, Echo was having a harder time staying aware.

"Amnesia... reminds me of the Vicory of Tythe, a young girl that lot most of her memory due to a ship crash. quite the crazy story, but I understand you reasoning". "Even if we do not like it our past is what makes us who we are... no point in changing it, not know anyways". Kurenai's fists clenching a little upon those words, knowing full well how much they applied to herself.

She remained silence as [member="General Echo Delta"] talked about her past, to an extent able to relate, many time over, too many times over. "Again I understand that feeling, when all you have done in your life is fight on the battle field, finding another form of employment is very hard". "I know how many times I have tried to but down the gun and try something new, only to be brought back. not even becoming a mother saved me from the constant wars that plagued the galaxy".

Her eyes locked back onto Echo as she ranted on, a small sigh coming from Kurenai's mouth, she was just like maple, crazy, old war veteran wounded in mind and body. "I do not believe in destiny, it's fucked me over to much to have any of my trust, I forge my own path through the stars, and you Echo are another person to be in that path". "Though I will say now, you are not special, over the 880 years of my life I have run into many people like you, broken, in shambles, giving up on life.... hopefully you will be among those I saved".

Echo fell silent, she was tired... too fired. She felt her body go limp, but not relax. She never relaxed in her life. Well, maybe as a child, but she did not remember what it felt like to just let go.

Her eyes slid halfway shut, but the veteran fought the feeling. Yes, she was exhausted, but she did not want to sleep. You never know what, or who will pop up.

"Just keep hold a little while longer, I promise you that the Je'daii will be able to help you out with this problem", it was least she could do to a fell war veteran. 'Unfortunately I do not think I can keep my eyes off you anymore least you try to kill yourself again... guess I wont be sleeping for the next 72 hours of my life'. With that Kurenai stayed in [member="General Echo Delta"] room for the rest of the trip, keeping an eye on the fatigued woman the entire time, the ship getting closer and closer to the Je'daii enclave.

"I doubt you have to worry...." She yawns, "About me doing harm to myself." She lays on the cold floor, though, to her it felt addly warm.

"I am really tired.... not sure why?" Her eyes slid shut, but a jolt of fear hit her. Echo's eye flew back open. "No! Don't let me die.... cannot... fight when...." She was gasping for breath, hyperventalating. Everything was blurry, eye sight was getting darker and darker.

Kurenai sat down besides the weary solider, stroking her hands through the long red strand of hair flowing from their head, "soon, soon you will be all better, I know you feeling, though you mortals are not the type to easily get over these things". "Just rest, as best you can child, the force will help you, just as it has helped me and many others". Perhaps she was acting to motherly to the young general, but in all honesty she could not help it, the feeling was just neutral to her, and seeing someone suffering like this ignited her will to save them.

Echo couldn't fight it anymore, she was too sick..

too weak.... The woman's gentle voice soothed her into submitting to whatever she was feeling. Letting her eyes close, the veteran aloud her body to slip into slumber. She could've sworn she felt something poke her arm, but that would have to wait, sleep was calling.

When was the last time she slept? Echo had no clue, but as of right now....

No thoughts ran through her mind as blackness took over.

Kurenai continued to stroke the head of [member="General Echo Delta"] as she dozed off to sleep, a small sigh escaping her mouth as she could feel her slipping off into sleep. "Well at least she will be easier then Akari... I have to stop with the whole 'mother' business when meeting new people". Just then the white streaking lights from around the ship came to a halt, the craft dropping out of hyperspace "hmm, seems we are here, best let the girl rest, hopefully it will be a nice landing and she can get a proper bed". Taking the helm Kurenai guided the craft down to a safe location on the hidden temple.

The air around her was cold and something wrapped around her skinny body. Her eyes flicker open as she groans. Wait... there was a weight on her mouth and nose. Something was on her eyes, shielding them. Warm air entered her lungs.

Her vision cleared slightly, she was in some sort of tube, a beeping sounded from a distance. Wait... she was trapped!

"Hmmph… No! Please!" She struggled in fear and shock. Voices sounded from a distance, but she heeded them no mind. The warm air becomes sweet and Echo feels her body going limp. "No.." She whimpers as all goes black again.

A few days passed, Kurenai sitting at the side of a bed, watching [member="General Echo Delta"] sleep in a hospital bed, herself dressed in a simple tank top and brown jeans, Echo in a typical dressing gown used for patients. Things had been interesting, the red head being quite restless during the entire recuperation process. Hopefully the treatment would help with the generals condition, though until things were certain Kurenai was not going to leave her bed side, least she try something silly again and wind up dead.

With a groan, Echo's eyes fluttered open. "What the kriff?" She raised a hand to shield herself from the light, or tried to do so. Something stopped her arm short; looking over, she could see a metal band on her arm. A quick glance confirmed both arm and her legs were held down by the same bands.

"What did I do now? Kill someone?" She asked with weak cockiness. "Hard to kill myself when I'm drugged." She attempted to sit up and get out of the bands, but they glowed and Echo found herself slumping back down with very little energy. "Kriff, it's those type of bands.... wonderful...."
