Journey to the Jed'aii

She gave a small chuckle while Echo complained like a child, thankful that her sense of humor was still intact, even if it was just to some extent. She probably did not really have any recollection of the past days, and it woulnd't be the first time the retired general had done something stupid. "If you had killed someone you'd be in a cell with an armed guard, not me by your bed in casual clothes at a hospital, even if I could close line you in a milisecond".

"Though enough joking around, how do you feel Echo? is your head okay? I know it wont be fixed automatically but any improvement would be a nice little bit of information for me". She was possibly being a little over protective but she could sympathies with the woman.

"Well, my head doesn't hurt, in fact, it's all fuzzy." Echo says. "Everything just feels like a drug haze to be honest, only I can talk and feel my environment."

She looked at the woman, eyeing her with a soldier's wariness. "What do you want from me? By now, must people want me as their slave or druggie experiment."

"Hmm well it is better then feeling pain, looks like there is still a lot to be done", hopefully echo would be be confined to a hospital for the rest of her life trying to get over this PTSD. There were many returned solider that never got over what happened during their tours, having to be kept in a home under constant watch.

"Slave? no I abhor that practice, and I myself know little about scientific stuff, the reason I chose to help you was because of my own past, I remember the my own 100 yard staring and shell shocked self when younger". "Fortunatly I had, 'other' means of getting past that but you, in an ally way on drugs, no if I had left you there it would have been the end for you, probably at the hands of some criminal, or worse".

Echo relaxed as she listened to the woman. "Most were smart enough to keep their distance. Still found ways to fight, even under the influence of a drug. Let me tell you, fighting while under Dream Dust is a doozy."

She shakes her head and stares at the ceiling, already wanting to get out, to move. "Part of me wants to be done with the drugs. I mean, I tried to be done, but then the pain would be too overwhelming and I would..." Echo fell silent. After several moments, she spoke once more.

"Sorry to bother, but can I eat or am I fasting until all the drugs are gone?"

"No need to explain yourself Echo, as long are you are feeling better any the least bit happy that is enough for me, seeing another veteran suffer like you are is not something I can just ignore". Another sole lost to the mental horrors that war gave to someone, an illness and condition one could never recover from fully, it left deep scares, her own still easy to see, all one would need is a live clone trooper to make Kurenia snap.

Giving a small shake of the head Kurenai turned back to echo, "Um sure I will call the nurse in here, they will be happy to see that you are awake, have anything in mind to eat? or you not picky"?
