STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
- Resourcefulness
- Due to her upbringing, Julia has learned more than a few "underhanded" tricks of the trade, and a few mundane but applicable skills as well.
Such as: pickpocketing, basic combat skills, bartering, small vehicle operation, lockpicking (Advanced and high security doors being the exception), and so on.
- Honor and Loyalty
- Despite being raised as a thief, her sense of loyalty and honor are held far above whatever personal gains she stands to earn. So much so that even those allies she no longer agrees or aligns with are still held in fairly high opinion by her, and often times those she knows are wrong still leave her feeling conflicted. With her sense of honor, she also would never hurt an innocent.
- Underground Connections
- Over her years following along the paths of a thief, Julia has met many who now owe her favors in return for assistance, or have simply become stedfast allies; opening up many avenues to bypass difficult security, or to gain access to information or items that may be considered illegal. However, this fact also has negatives; those who follow the law would frown upon these connections, and the saying "No honor among thieves" sometimes proves true as well.
- Under-educated
- Due in part to who her "family" is, Julia was unable to go through regular education like most kids. As a result she has a below average intelligence. She still has her street smarts, a basic reading comprehension, and all the things she was taught, but without the extra assistance of a school and the like, Julia definitely lacks the knowledge to pilot advanced vehicles or use advanced tech, speak multiple languages, or become a military genius. It doesn't show usually as she just avoids the things she doesn't know. But ask her to solve a math problem, or ask about scientific theory and suddenly one of her major weaknesses comes forth.
- Criminal History
- Julia was with a bandit group for most of her life, this fact alone causes issues when someone tries to ask about her past in any capacity. But worse, if one were to remember this group and it's many members, and happened to recognize her from her time among them, they could very well view Julia in a negative light. She's tried her best to distance herself from them, but some sins are not easily forgotten.
Julia has fairly distinct features. She has two cat ears on top of her head that meet dark hair at the base, cream colored skin and amber eyes with cat pupils. Her attire varies a bit between an almost skin-tight black and white jumpsuit, a black tank top and jeans underneath a large white overcoat, or a formal shirt with black jeans. However, one piece of attire remains constant; The black bow at the top of her head, done up to conceal her ears - and by extension, her race to some degree.
BIOGRAPHY:
Julia was born on Felicat to two destitute parents who abandoned her soon after she reached the age of five. After this moment what happens next is often described by Julia herself as "All a blur", all she knows for certain is that she struggled all alone to survive in the streets, she had to struggle for her own life at such a young age. Yet it suddenly turned around...She met a strange, but kind man named "Oberon". Unlike all the others she met on the streets, he didn't judge her or look harshly down on her. He gave her food - he gave her a chance to make her life better. Before she knew it, she was thrust into the midst of a group of thieves. "Ashen Brotherhood" they called themselves. Even though they only operated in the Abrion Sector for safety reasons, they were still fairly prominent. They targeted officials, soldiers, convoys, whatever they could find that was guarded to some degree, stole it and gave some of the supplies off to the poor and homeless of other planets. More than that, their leader would find those that couldn't help themselves, and give them a chance to join. Their group was full of people of all races, all ages, all shapes and sizes. And now Julia was one of them. There was little doubt that thieves were wrong, but she soon found herself questioning that...This girl who could barely speak properly, who couldn't read or write, who just barely made it by was being cared for by these "bad guys". She was being sheltered and taught.
In time she was right up there with them, going on raids to gather supplies for themselves and others. They never really allowed her or the other children on dangerous missions, but they still gave all of them a chance regardless; and with the leader himself treating her as if she were his own daughter, she soon found her skill and "rank" growing within the Ashen Brotherhood. At just the age of 12, she was already well versed in the art of thievery. And though she wasn't as skilled in other areas, her strange heightened sense of awareness made her that much better as a member of the brotherhood. As the years passed, her ability only grew stronger, and though her heightened sense of awareness has weakened considerably, at a certain point it wasn't even needed, she seemed to just know things when it came to sneaking around and stealing. As if it were second nature to her, she was a thief. But things don't end there, there's more to the story of this rogue. As she grew into early adulthood, she became more aware of morality, of her own, and of others'. The Ashen Brotherhood was changing. They began taking in people who were only in it for themselves, people who didn't care who they hurt to get what they wanted. Those that questioned it met only hatred, and in some cases; got them exiled from the brotherhood. Oberon was starting to change for the worse. No one among them knew why, the once kind and charitable man now resented others, he sought to gain power, not warmth or compassion. And as the years passed, one thing was apparent: he was not the same man he once was.
And so the time had come, Julia could stand by and watch her family degrade no further. With a heavy heart and deep guilt, she snuck away in the night. She took Oberon's own space ship; "Fairydust" and in time was blasting away, away from the outer rim. She wasn't sure where it would lead her, but she knew one thing for certain...She could never go back. If they ever found her again, doubtless they would treat her as an enemy with the way they were now. Two years passed from there, and in the present day, she's found herself work as a guard for both singular personnel and cargo ships as well. She doesn't go into the outer rim anymore, she works as close to the center of the galaxy as possible, to avoid them...It's all she can hope for, that they'll never find her.
SHIP:
Julia's ship, nicknamed "Fairydust" is an HWK-290 Light freighter. It contains a fair number of modifications: A pair of energy cannons and a single torpedo launcher, it also has three fins on the roof splayed out in a symmetrical design. And of course it also carries some light wear and tear from it's long time of service to the various pilots it has seated in it's existence. It carries an...Interesting paint job. White with neon pink stripes. It's engines are factory, but they've been tuned to maximum efficiency, making it one of the quickest HWK-290's still in use. It still looks just like a factory standard model beyond it's very clear modifications, but it none-the-less still serves it's purpose well.
PERSONAL EFFECTS: A 434 DeathHammer Blaster Pistol, a basic dagger, and a run of the mill comm device for keeping in contact with clients.
