Just Another Day (Una)

He listened to her words and answered the second set of words before he looked down at the case and smiled at it. "Thank you miss una, if ever you need repayment for this just tell me." His eyes now left the case as he rubbed his neck and dipped his head down a bit, hiding the expression on his face. "And i do, uh well its a violin... i like the sound of the instrument..."

Una squealed with delight. During her travels she had had many an opportunity to listen to the violin. Coupled with a piano it was her favorite sound. She remembered many a smokey night in clubs, listening to the beautiful music and sipping drinks with her friends. Her eyes found his with a sparkle of excitement in them. "Will you play something for me?" Her food now went completely ignored as she waited on his answer.

He blinked looking at the case and his hands as they were clasped to to be unable to stop moving. "I... well i mean i am not very good and it.... And i dont... just its a public place is all..." HE suddenly seemed beyond nervous and looked around at the people in the cantina and sight. "Can we go outside if you want to listen to me play... im just... theres too many people."

She shrugged her shoulders and returned to the rapidly cooling soup in front of her. She wasn't about to pressure him into playing for her. Taking a long, well deserved sip Una took the time to reflect upon all that had happened during that day. When the wooden bowl was set down onto the table, she smiled sweetly toward Solan and lent forward, resting her elbows on the table and her head in her palms. "So, I don't know that much about you. Forgive me for being nosy but I am rather curious..." She left the question open, giving him the chance to pick and choose the parts of his life he discussed.

"Well... my name is Solan Charr... which i told you already. Uh i work mostly as a mercenary for groups so its odd for me to really be affliated with anyone past myself. I came from dantooine... lets see." He was scratching his neck, pushing around the thoughts in his mind. He was avoiding things she could use against him, it wasn't that he didn't trust her, it was that he had felt so much pain in the past that he only let things out slowly.

Una nodded along with his words. She expected some things to be held back, and held no malice when there was. After all, she was a perfect stranger. Her bowl was emptied as he spoke, the delicious liquid settled in her stomach as she turned her attention to the unsipped drink. There was a pause in his speech and Una decided to fill it with a little information of her own. "I'm from Corellia. I visited Dantooine when I was travelling. Can't say it was the nicest of places, but maybe I was just in the wrong area."

"Its a beautiful place, there is no place where the nights are clearer and the air is softer as it brings a gentle breeze over the plains there. I would never have hoped for a different home, before that i was Alderaan, but Dantooine holds a place in my heart that only a few people can beat..."

Una sipped loudly at her drink, desperate to rejuvenate herself from the long walk. Though it wasn't necessarily hot outside and she hadn't lost a lot of moisture, the cold did a number on her body. "You'll have to show me sometime! I love to look at the stars. When I was younger I'd lie on my roof and stare up at the sky. I didn't ever think I'd actually get to see any of it, but here I am." She offered him a friendly smile. She was getting to quite enjoy his company.

"Ya, its a beautiful scene, a painting in the sky that ever changes but remains the same. Vibrant and enchanting like the face of the one you love or a flower with un paralleled care and beauty." He was a bit weird, looking down at the violin at his side now as he sighed and spoke. "Do you still want to hear me play miss? If so then ill just play softly."

Una nodded her head eagerly and slid her empty bowl and cup to the side. Leaning forward, she rested her head in her hands and kept her eyes trained on him as she waited to hear his music. His words were kind of poetic. Una had never thought about it before. But then again she had never been in love and had yet to experience such a feeling. "That was a beautiful way of describing it..."

"Ok... dont laugh..." He looked at the case again and carefully placed it on the table. Out from it came the single most prized thing he owned, a ornate and hand made violin, with a bow that seemed to be made with the same care. It had been his mothers, and before her her mothers, and so on. He reached up and began a slow song that left their booth just barely, being suppressed by the sounds of the cantina as he closed his eyes and smiled at the sound that came from his instrument.

"Why on earth would I laugh..." She glanced at the ornate violin with much interest. The curve of the wood, the shade of it in the light of the cantina. It was a beautiful instrument and Una felt very lucky to have been able to see it. She only guessed at how lucky Solan must feel to own it. Plus she had no doubt such a beautiful item held a lot of history for him. Or at least for someone. The song that hit her ears next was beautiful. It was a sad slow song that transported her to her past, to the few years of her life when she had never seen anything but the same four walls everyday. A lump formed in her throat, but she was determined not to cry.

Fun part about being part Miralukan, your empathy and force sight loved to tell you when people were hurt. He slowly opened his eyes and looked at her face as she tried not to cry. "Lets go outside, i think you need to be in a more peaceful place, ehh?" He smiled and placed instrument in the case with such care, one would think it would break if someone even grabbed it.

Una swallowed and sent her eyes elsewhere. She shrugged her shoulders and composed herself with a heavy sigh, before turning back to Solan with a sweet smile on her face. "I'm perfectly fine, thank you. You play beautifully."

"I know when people are lying to me miss Una..." He smiled and stood none the less, walking around and holding out a hand to her to help her out of the seat, a light and kind smile on his face. "Come on, lets walk instead of staying inside this stuffy place, i know a great park and i promise if it gets too cold again we can return here." He in truth hated cantina's but he had to warm up, now came to see if she felt the same way or not.
