Just Breathe

Juniper Canyon, Commenor.

This place had some history to it. Once home to Jedi and other various peoples, there were ruins and caves galore. Jairdain wanted to explore it as much as she could. Even though she was physically blind, she had the Force and that guided her steps most of the time. On her shoulder was a little wolf that was mentally connected to her, he was her eyes. Through them she could see the physical world when she wanted to.

As she walked, he crawled down and off her body to follow something on his own. When he found the corner of something sticking out of the ground, he showed her what he saw in her mind. It wasn't something that belonged here or then again maybe it was, but Jairdain didn't think so.

Walking over to where her small friend waited, she started to uncover an item. With the Force, she lifted the heavier debris off the item. After that was done, she would dust it off with her fingers. Through the eyes of Sage, she tried to make out what the writing on it meant.

Sadly she had yet to learn how to read, so had no idea what anything actually said. Luckily through Sage's connection to the colony of Ashlans, he was able to help her unfreeze whoever was locked in the carbonite. Unknown to her if the person was even still alive, she sat down in the floor of the ruins to observe the process in front of her.

Zatos fell to the floor of the temple as he was unfrozen alongside his cortosis staff, he stayed on the floor briefly panting heavily trying to catch his breath. After a few moments pass Zatos reached out and grabbed his staff he heard hit the floor next to him, slowly using the staff to help him back to his feet. Leaning all of his weight on staff trying to regain his composure "Where the hell am i?" Zatos said holding his head with one hand and holding himself up with the staff in the other.

A warm rush of fear had washed over him as he thought about where his family could be, his stomach began to turn. Only then did he realize the the sound of the small wolf as it moved around "Is someone there?!" Zatos called out "I cant see anything! why is it so dark in here!?"

She was sitting on the ground when he fell. If she had been thinking and reacting quick enough, his fall could have been prevented. Luckily it didn't hurt him any and Jairdain gave him the time he needed to get himself together. He asked where he was and was concerned that he couldn't see. Not knowing anything about the effects of carbonite, she did not know about the being blind as a side effect.

Since she was blind, she had not brought a light of her own and assumed the area around them was dark. Seeing through her wolf's eyes wasn't any help because he could see well in the dark already. Holding a hand out, a small flame appeared just above the palm to hopefully provide this familiar voice with some light. And then the voice hit her.

The voice was the same as somebody she had known a few years ago and worked with. As enemies, allies and that was about it.

"Just breathe...just breathe. What are you doing on Commenor? Last I heard your voice was on Nar Shadda or somewhere over on the side of the galaxy, Koda Fett. Are you blind now too?"

Her words were meant for both of them. Yet, the sudden feeling came to her was that this man wasn't Koda...but a clone as he was himself.

"Who are you if you are not Koda? I am Jairdain Ismet and you are on Commenor within some ruins here I was exploring."

His classic monk garb was a bit wet from being thawed from the carbonite. Zatos was shaking as he used all of his power to keep himself standing, leaning all of his weight on his staff. "Koda? Fett?" Zatos was confused. "I don't know who Kota Fett is but i do know who Jango Fett is...... a little too well" referencing actually being cloned with all Jango's memories.

Moments passed and his super soldier bode began to slowly heal him from the carbonite sickness, now he stood on his own putting his staff on his back. "Commenor? Last thing i remember is being held captive by Rotta the Hutt, Jabba's slimy son" Zatos explained "I'm Zatos, don't worry about me its all just a side effect from being frozen" Zatos began stretching as if he had just got up from a long nap.

"Well i'm alive so i couldn't have been frozen for too long, tell me what is the year?" Zatos was afraid she would tell him he was frozen for a couple years, totally not expecting the reality he was about to face.

He would feel a steady touch of the Force offering him some support to stand on his own. Once Jairdain was sure he would remain standing, she released her hold on him. Hearing what he said...it was soon clear he wasn't who she initially thought he was.

"Zatos, hopefully you'll get your sight back. My small companion here is Sage and he is my eyes."

From what she knew of Hutt biology, they could live 100s of years, but history told her Jabba had died something like 800 years ago or a little longer.

"It's been around 830 years or there about since Jabba the Hutt died...You've been frozen for quite some time. The year is 851 ABY."

Her voice was calm, honest and truthful. There was also a touch of sympathy, even though Jairdain didn't notice it. With those words though, she was ready to catch him if he started to fall from shock.

Zatos stood in silence for a moment before falling down to his knees, his fall being softened by Jairdan. "how can that even be possible? no one found me!?" he couldn't believe what he had heard. "so my wife...... my son..... there dead alongside everyone i have ever known..."

The monk stayed in silence for a while before he pulled himself back to his feet, brushing himself off he regained his composure. "well.....what do i do now? where does a monk of the force fit in in these times?" Zatos asked clearing his throat.

"I have found you now and that is what matters really. Though there must be a reason why you were brought to these ruins. We are half the galaxy away from Hutt space. There was a Jedi temple here and these are the ruins of it."

There was still sympathy in her tone as she spoke, but also a serene tone. Jairdain allowed him the time he needed to put his thoughts, emotions and himself back together. A great deal had just happened to him and it would take time to adjust to everything. When he asked about where a monk would fit into things, a few options came to her mind.

"Probably the Silver Jedi would be the best fit. There are other options out there if that path isn't your calling."
