Kafh-en-ma-nofre

[Entry 1]
"Praise be to the gods, who have provided us with a good life here on Ankhypt, a life we are happy with."- Mom's dinnertime thanks

Well that's what we're supposed to thing isnt it? I decided I needed to start writing a journal, mom said it would help me get my thoughts together or some chit like that. So yeah I guess I will do just that. So here I am, my name is Kafh-en-ma-nofre, yeah a mouthful. You can thank our lovely overlords for that. I'm just here in the servants quarters...well more of a basement. Where am I? Some Noble house of Ankhypt, a planet who's main exports are gold, gems, and... well slaves. Which (shocker) is what My family and I are. I wouldn't say it's a tough life, because it isn't. It's actually fairly easy I mean don't get me wrong, it's still slavery, we're still treated as lesser beings, but I mean...like we're cared for. I dunno I guess that's it for now.

[Entry 2]
"Serve the Anubians, and Pharoah to please the gods, for only by pleasing the gods can you truly be happy."

Heh mom actually said that when we went to one of the markets to get ingredients for a meal we were prepping for our masters. I just don't understand how we just blindly serve. Makes absolutely no sense, but anytime I try to talk to my mom about she just says the same stuff...I dunno, I'm not saying I don't believe in the gods, because I definitely do, just that we should have to serve just the gods, not the Anubians or the Pharoah. But that's just my opinion. Of course it's the kind of opinion I have to keep to myself. Life is the same as always. Serve, sleep eat. Definitely boring. I don't get how everyone is so pacified to the idea of subservience. I'm getting tired of just doing what I'm told. Definitely not what dad would have done.

[Entry 3]

"Never just blindly follow authority, that's how you end up dead...or worse, slaves. As we are now."- Dad
Woke up from a dream about dad, we were sitting at the dinner table just him and I. He always had a rebellious attitude I guess that's what I cherished about him. Sadly dad mouthed off one too many times, our masters killed him right in front of us. Dad wasn't born into slavery like most of us. He was captured when he crash landed on the planet. It was definitely hard to see my father die, but he always said to fight for what you believe in, guess I haven't really found what I believe in yet. I know I believe in the gods, but I also believe in freedom. So I'm definitely torn. But I know one thing. I am done blindly following.

[Entry 4]
"Ka, To serve the gods is a great thing, dear. By serving the Pharoah and our masters we are glorifying the gods." - Mom

Ugh mom just doesn't understand. She doesn't have the same spirit as dad. Guess after generations of slavery one develops an alternate version of Stockholm syndrome. But that's a wild guess. I've gone past my breaking point on this one. I've tried and tried. Talking isn't working, I'm done. I think it's time I leave. Well escape...

[Entry 5]

I've been planning it for a few weeks now. That's why I haven't been able to update my journal in a while. I'm escaping tonight. It's hard to get past the guards, all offworlders are chipped. To avoid confusion. So I've decided to sneak into a cargo ship, transporting gems offworld. I memorized a shipping manifest while cleaning my Master's estate. Learned where the ship was and when it was leaving...simple enough I hope.

[Entry 6]
It's amazing how much leg room one of these shipping crates have. Definitely easier than I thought. May the gods forgive me if I'm going against them. I guess I'll never know. Well not yet anyway. Am I going to miss my mom? Of course, but I can't stand by and watch her be so oblivious to the things around her. Anyway I'll update when I find out where this crate gets delivered.

[Entry 7]
So yeah I dunno how smart of a plan this was, I should have guessed this crate would have been hot as hell. Well muggy I mean I've been sweating like crazy in here...but that's not the point. It feels as if I've been in here for days, but it's only been a few hours. We should be far enough away from the planet by now. Maybe it's time to get out of this cramped box.

[Entry 8]
So...strange breaking information...pirates attacked the ship, and now they have prisoners...I didn't escape one life of slavery just to enter another. All I can do right now is wait. I don't have any experience in combat so that's out of the picture...

[Entry 9]
Okay so the ship has landed, heard some voices unloading some things but it's been quiet for a while. I'm definitely going to try and get out of here. I'm sweating in this stupid cramped crate.

[Entry 10]
I don't know why I keep finding planets with sand. I guess it's not the worst thing in the world, if this is the gods way of punishing me, so be it heh. So here I am on Kashyyyk, at least that's what the guy who dropped me off said. Well I can't complain, the beaches are very nice. I'll be here for a while. It's awesome how I'm not that sad to be away from home. I'd jump in the water if I knew how to swim but I'll settle for standing at the foot of the water.

[Update: Meeting Thiavi: Between Entry 9 and 10]

"I'm just a slave boy comparing Mandolorians to a Rancor." -Me to Thiavi.

I feel a bit silly, I know I haven't really updated what happened between getting off that ship and going to Kashyyyk. Sitting in my quarters now: it seem I have a bit of free time. Now... I've happened across a Mandolorian by the name of Thiavi. Well...she actually happened across me, got me out of whatever pirate camp I was in. She was even nice enough to try and teach me how to use a blaster. Not that I'm ever going to get the hang of it. She's a great shot, and was willing to hold a conversation with me about art...yeah I know surprising. She said that I see the Galaxy in an ubiased way. Do I? Yet to be seen I guess. Definitely still have a big problem with making eye contact with people. To think of others as equals instead of betters is difficult. But maybe I'll get the hang of it. All I know is that she's the one to call if I get into a firefight. She seems trustworthy enough, who else would bring a random stranger to town and teach him how to shoot? She's okay in my book.

Note: She has had trouble with homemade explosives in the past. Avoid having her make bombs.

Solution: Have her rewire some machine to explode.

[Update: Kashyyyk: Meeting Kahlil somewhere after Entry 10]

"It's actually pronounced Kah-Chic..." - Kahlil: on how to pronounce Kashyyyk.

Kahlil. Now here's a strange man, in a nice way. He was actually willing to have a conversation with me. Told me about these furry things called Wookiees. They sound really neat. He took time to answer any questions I had, even took me to the Jedi Temple. Showed me how to connect with this thing called The Force. Very strange that's for sure. Gods he even called me "friend" I hope I can live up to it. Don't want to break his trust. The thing about him is he's very friendly but I think that's just a facade. Something darker definitely lurks within. I have trouble breaking my habits around him, due to his height maybe?

Note: Kahlil is very tall. Like really tall. Reminds me of the Anubians.

Solution: I don't know yet...how do you solve being tall?
