The Blood Hound
- Intent: To create a chemical that could mess with a Hypermatter Reactor's ability to destroy hypermatter, thereby screwing with a ship's hyperspace abilities.

- Karkmatter is a powder that is made of a special blend of chemicals developed in the Whimsy R&D institute on Geonosis.
- Karkmatter messes with the ability of a Hyperdrive Reactor or Engine to destroy hypermatter, thereby negating hypermatter as fuel on the infected ship.
- A Hyperdrive Engine that's attempting to work with a tank fuel that has Karkmatter in it is very likely to suffer damage; anywhere from being unable to remain functional to out right exploding, depending on the time the powder's been in the fuel tank and how many attempts were made to start the engine.
- Sadly, Karkmatter is easy to clean out of a fuel tank if discovered on time.
- A good enough mechanic (or team of mechanics, droids included) can fix the damage caused to engines by the Karkmatter .
- Karkmatter has a surprisingly short expiration date; up to two months from the moment of container opening.
- Karkmatter is toxic for pets. Don't let them eat that.
After the success of the Liquid Ion Sugar, Scherezade deWinter and her company, Whimsy, were given an R&D grant by the Confederacy of Independent Systems' Ministry of Science to work on a line of several of serious and glitter-less products. All products made through this and future grants fit into Project Manghild (since abandoned).
Karkmatter was created to particularly mess with ships' abilities to enter and exit hyperspace by messing with the Hypermatter Reactors and Engines to destroy hypermatter. Karkmatter comes in powder form, and the bigger the ship and its engines are, the more of the powder is needed. Containers are available in many different sizes, but once they are opened, they must be used within two months or the powder will go bad.
When Scherezade deWinter left the Confederacy, she took her items from Project Manghild with her, terminating the contract one sided. The numbers were pretty clear; while the invention had been a success and its application incredible, there were no purchases actually made within the Confederacy of the Liquid Ion Sugar. A forwarding address had been left behind in the event that they should wish to contact her regarding it. Thus, none had.
With her change of place in the galaxy, Scherezade granted the Agents of Chaos open access to the Liquid Ion Sugar, and gave a little extra push towards selling it to external sources as well, all while her team set to work on the next generation of the idea, making sure to create something bigger and badder.
