"Ah! Well then. We can't have that, now can we."

She smiled and walked back over to the center of the mat.

"Alright then. To begin meditations let's take a seat on the center of the mat. Legs crossed. Back straight."

Jess placed her mug on the ground next to her. Then sat down.

"Okay. So the first trick to Jedi Meditation is good posture. Hands on your knees. Chin up. Eyes closed."

She practiced.

"Now. Breathing. ...Slow and steady. In and out. In and out. Just like math. Count and exhale. Count and exhale. Good."

She opened one eye and continued,

"Now. We must let our thoughts and anxieties pass away. Quiet your mind. Let your thoughts rise up. See them. Then push them away. Visualize letting them drift away from you. Disconnecting. Until all that left is just you and the Force."

Jess paused.

"Now. Reach out with your feelings. Feel the Force, flowing through you. ...This is your connection. This is your peace."

Reggie walked over to the middle of the mat and sat directly across from his mentor. He crossed his legs and made sure his back was straight, put his hands on his knees, lifted his chin, and closed his eyes. He began to steady his breathing and tried to let go of his thoughts, which proved to be a difficult task. Reggie was always filled with thoughts, so suppressing them was not a easy task.

After awhile, he was able to push his thoughts away and could feel the force closer to him than ever before, felt at peace.

Jessica nodded. It was enough.

"The practice of meditation is an art best mastered through daily contemplation. It is here that a Jedi is the closest to the Force they can ever be, short of death and the beyond."

She nodded and sat up straight.

"It is during meditation that the Force can speak to you directly. Prompting your mind. Guiding your thoughts. Giving you visions and endowing you with knowledge. It can be used to heal yourself. To aid in sleep or anxiety. To ask questions of the Force or even to just pass the time. However. Meditation is just a very small part of living a healthy lifestyle. When used in small portions alongside a full and busy schedule? It can be a great a bounteous blessing. Alas. As many Jedi Far Seers and Prophets have learned? Too much meditation can actually hamper your ability to be a productive person. Much like a vanity mirror. The longer you stare into it, the less it does for you."

She shrugged and slapped her knee.

"Anyway. That's enough meditation training for today. Now you need time to practice it and come up with your own style. I recommend at least twenty minutes every morning. Like a morning prayer. Just get in the habit. ...And yes. Don't expect something amazing to happen every time. Meditation can be a lot like checking your email. You do it everyday, sure. But most of the time there is nothing in your inbox. Hehe."

Jessica moved to stand.

"Can you do that for me Reggie? Can you add twenty minutes of meditation to your daily schedule too?"

Reggie opened his eyes and listened closely to what Jessica said about meditation. Everything that was said made sense. You'll never get the same outcome or a new experience every time you do something, it's just how things work, right? It didn't take him long to answer her question.

"Yes. I can do that, not a problem!"

"Great."

She stretched out and looked to the door. Standing up straight and tall.

"Well. Then I guess that concludes today's class on Jedi time management. Hehe."

Matthews took another sip of her mug and nodded.

"Class dismissed. I guess I'll see you next week unless you need something. Just to check up."

She was so proud of Reggie. He had this whole Jedi thing in the bag.

"Welp. Thanks for being awesome. You need anything or you good?"

Reggie always enjoyed the lessons he had with the different Jedi masters. He always took away from their wisdom and learned much, and today was no different.

"I'm good! I think I've learned enough for the day, thank you for the lesson."

He bowed and began to walk out the door.
