With outsiders she is careful, those within the breakwater are generally allowed because they are loyal and vetted.. outside of it they are dangerous and can be a threat to the Royal family.

- Heightened Senses: Their senses are slightly higher being able to smell blood and food from a mile away or track prey.
- Natural Weapons: Their fangs, claws and tail can act as weapons to defend them. The tail being able to wrap around their bodies and strong enough to hold a utility belt.
- Pheromones: Over time their bodies have evolved strong pheromones to ward away other Yaaxil attract mates and at times be more provocative. They go through training to learn to control this part of their body and be able to produce as much or little as they need.
- Lighter Bones: The Farlax Sector is largely uninhabited and their world was... lighter. Their bodies grew used to the lighter gravity and their bones were weaker. It might allow them to right themselves in the air but the impact can shatter their bones easily. Their pards in the Asobi system suffer worse fates with near fatal brittle bones.
- Strengths: What makes them strong on their own planet and makes them into a predator able to get the drop on prey also makes them targets. On worlds outside of the ones they come from they are easy to see, able to be pained from ultrasonic whistles and overwhelmed with scents.
- Low Birth Rates: Their bodies have changed since coming to the Farlax System, their bones evolving to be in low gravity situations which makes them far weaker. Mating off of their home planet can kill them.
- Allergy to Metals: Their bodies are allergic to trace metal heavy food and drinks. The lack of metals on their world has developed and made their bodies sick when they build up to much. Shown as rings around the eyes. It can lead to problems and death in most extreme cases when not managed.
Born on Cathar and taken off world when she was incredibly young. the Yaaxil were a harder to find sub-species on their world while many more were offworld on other planets. Her parents went into space and found work in a project that was being developed in the core worlds... the refugee crisis from worlds like Csilla and a handful that had been destroyed, attacks by the sith and other groups. Atrisia was terraforming worlds for the refugees and offering lots of work in various places so her family was able to go and get positions in both medicine and construction efforts. Kenzo being too young at first she was trained and taught in the schools as she could see much of the system and terraforming efforts developing. The reveal of the Breakwater project and many more endeavors were being worked on.
The years of schooling saw her develop enough to join the Atrisian military. The Commonwealths first generations of mandatory service for their citizens would increase their enlisted and standing army. Being taught higher education, weapons, ship work and social interactions were an impressive development that they gave her. Meanwhile her parents continued to thrive as they got the terraforming efforts on worlds like Atrisia nine for the chiss refugees who added their engineers and development of fleeting to the Commonwealth. Shipyaards were being developed to streamline and develop many more ships as security protocols were being made around the worlds within the Commonwealth... two hundred systems that worked and traded with them. Developing and improving the security as each world was given an Anshin.
She continued through the military and distinguished herself in Operation Syuri as the forces expelled the sith sympathizers and exiling them without killing they managed to get them outside of Commonwealth space. Improvements to it saw her promoted to a metsuka unit dedicated to the offworld protection of the Atrisian princess as she traveled around the Commonwealth. While the heir and prince went to worlds outside and established diplomatic ties... she was working within to foster understanding and assimilation.. to bring everyone under the same folds and agreements that would see the Commonwealth flourish. The years continued after that and Kenzo continued to work as bodyguard serving until Junko managed to with the emperor and empress to complete the breakwater. The massive series of stations ringing the Commonwealth.
She was given the chance to serve with her unit as Junko would venture out while construction continued.. the breakwater wasn't just a single ring.. it was a series of stations in concentric rings that went around the Commonwealth with planetary shielding betwen them... more monitoring staations, hyperspace bueys that function to create gravity wells and stormseeds that were developed to continue to obscure and lock out routes and regions of space. It was highly designed to enclose like a dyson sphere but didn't have the sheer physical megastructure. The princess promoted her to work with her security detail, Kenzo bringing a new perspective to her more combat oriented handmaidens and royal guards who were long standing. It would mean being able to move into her own area of the palace and her family being taken care of to prevent dangers to them to influence her.
Then empress teta happened... the one time when she had given in and not joined the princess on a security detail to deliver relief supplies... and a fight between the Alliance and pirates broke out... endangering in most respects the princess but she insisted that she would have been fine... the technical readouts showing that she was likely correct but the commander had been sent to make sure she was safe with some of the latest models of their vessels showing the large scale refinements and improvements outside of the Commonwealth.. something that had been avoided for years as the interior pushed itself towards a Jishi Era post scarcity. Kenzo would be able to work and show the princess as well as the Royal family what her guards could do as she was moving to be one of the more impressive soldiers within the Commonwealth.
