STRENGTHS
  • Arachnophobia: The KLM is capable of operating either as an amphibious tracked tank, or as a walker for more uneven terrain, and can swiftly swap between the two modes.
  • Tip of the Spear: The KLM carries both heavy anti-tank and anti-infantry ranged weaponry, and in its walker configuration is more than capable of ripping infantry or vehicles to pieces, or battering down barricades or buildings.
  • Hard-Shelled: The Phobos walker is heavily defended, possessing both thick armor and a shield generator capable of withstanding a horrendous battering from enemy weapons fire. Additionally, it possesses a backup processor should its primary brain be harmed, enabling it to keep going under the worst of harm.

WEAKNESSES
  • Unintelligent: The Phobos possesses a belligerent, violent programmed personality similar to that of the B2H, and is incapable of any task more complex than simple destroying and burning. It requires an attentive commander at all times when in use.
  • Berserking: Similar in another way to the B2H, the Phobos is prone to murderous rages when heavily wounded, and when in such a state will disregard its ranged weapons, suicide-charging into enemy lines to rend and tear with its claws. This typically results in its destruction.

DESCRIPTION

The Phobos tank droid was designed to succeed when the B2H failed. Created to smash the toughest of lines and weather the worst the enemy could offer, it was Helix Solutions' answer to the increasingly-hellish warzones in which it found itself.

Towering at eight meters in height when in its walker configuration, the Phobos cut a menacing figure indeed when it charged across the field, pulping infantry underfoot or hurling aside enemy vehicles. It revelled in melee combat, unlike most Helix droids, and would often use its ranged weapons only to soften up the enemy before a charge into close combat.

Still, when carefully managed, the droid was a capable heavy tank, possessing a heavy and versatile ranged armament, including the widely-feared Flamehammer. It could engage infantry, vehicles, or aircraft at all practical combat ranges.

This dual-purpose, shapechanging nature was one of its more unusual features, allowing the droid to function as either a traditional tank at medium to extreme range, or as a heavy-duty linebreaking assault walker at close range.

Its defense was even more formidable than its offense, possessing an extraordinarily powerful shield generator on top of phrik and impervium body armor. Even should the shields fail, its armored shell was proof against blasters, lightsabers, or most other forms of conventional harm. Only with very powerful anti-tank weaponry (preferably lots of it) could this behemoth be felled.

The droid was occasionally difficult to manage, however, being both no more intelligent than a human child and prone to fits of rage when things didn't go its way. It was programmed for obedience to its commanders, but was unsuited for any complex task when not being directly micromanaged. Worse, its redundant dual processors could occasionally short in a manner similar to that of the B2H, when suffering heavy damage. When so shorted, the machine would typically go berserk, disregarding its ranged weapon and charging to its death into enemy lines, though doubtless it would inflict terrible harm before being brought low.
