- | Now You See Me | The GEN II Nightseer improves upon the basic cloak capabilities of its predecessor, making it difficult to spot a Nightseer lurking in the shadows. The incorporation of the Doppelganger cloak projector also grants Nightseer operators a major tactical advantage especially in confusing and disrupting enemy forces. The GEN II enables Nightseer operators to be even deadlier covert operatives working behind enemy lines, whether it is sabotage, reconnaissance or assassination, the GEN II has the tools to achieve the operator's goals.
- | Speed | The GEN II Nightseer is unmatched in terms of speed on the battlefield. At top speeds, it can pursue land speeders with relative ease. It can quickly traverse the battlefield and move from one location to another, making it ideal for both being a sniper or sabotaging key installations.
- | Frail | Compared to its close relative the Dragoon armor, the Nightseer is meant for stealth and reconnaissance. Though its systems improve and aid the operator in combat, it lacks a great degree of the defensive benefits compared to the Dragoon, relying on deception and confusion to take enemies head on. Compared to its predecessor, the GEN II Nightseer only has seen a slight improvement to defensive capabilities.
DESCRIPTION
The Nightseer Recon Suit as its name suggests from the bird it is named after, is a specially designed reconnaissance suit that is capable of fooling electronic sensors as well as the naked eye. Like other suits produced on the KVX lines, the Nightseer boasts standard suit functions such as magboots, thrusters, life support systems, helmet functions. A thermal gel layer inside the suit regulates body temperature to keep the wearer safe in a number of different environments without severe impacts to their performance. The suit can be completely sealed to protect itself from external environments such as vacuum or hazards.
The Nightseer can function in space, primarily in assisting with boarding enemy vessels undetected and neutralizing the enemy crew, key areas of a ship whilst primary assault forces draw attention. It provides up to an hour of oxygen in vacuum or environments without breathable atmospheres.
Unlike the other armored suits produced in the KVX line, the Nightseer boasts a higher fuel capacity with its lightweight and sleek design, letting wearers fly through the air at incredible speeds. This in combination with its stealth and cloak suites allows the Nightseer to fly above areas to provide recon and target designation from a relatively safe height. The equipped Laser Designator located on their helmets allows the Nightseer to paint a target and guide in artillery or missile strikes with the coordinates they provide.
The Nightseer's stealth suite provides multiple layers to hide itself from sensors. The Nightseer has thermal shielding to hide it from thermal sensors and can be made virtually invisible to the naked eye save for a few subtle ripples in the space that the Nightseer occupies. This is made more difficult with the incorporation of the 'Doppelganger' system, making it hard to pin exactly where the operator is. It, however, does not hide the wearer from detection systems that use anything like echolocation or sonar. The suit can also be made visible if coated in any particulates that can cling to the surface like mud or powders.
Like other KVX models, the Nightseer is bestowed upon the chosen elite of the Imperial Sith Legion. Every capable candidate undergoes extensive training to ensure that they are capable of handling the speeds and maintenance of their suits. Due to the nature of the technology used and its functions, each suit is keyed to a specific bio-signature to prevent it from being used by enemies in the event that it is neutralized on the field. When the user's heart rate flatlines for more than a minute, all data stored in the suit becomes wiped and the onboard generator that powers the suit detonates, causing the suit to self destruct and leave nothing for salvage.
