- The Howl is a sonic weapon, therefore lightsabers are incapable of deflecting shots from it. Generally works well against armor that doesn't have a cushion between it and the wearer.
- Charged shot increases lethality of shot; quickfire shoots an incapacitating shot that disorients target's equilibrium and functions in a similar fashion to stun rounds. Charged shot [2 second charge] will rupture organs and cause internal bleeding, similar in effect to Geonosian Sonic Blasters.
- Limited ammo capacity forces the user to either make every shot count or recharge it frequently.
- Not innately lethal when fired in a quick semi-automatic fashion and entirely useless against targets with armor/equipment that resist sonic-based attacks.
The Howl is a sonic weapon designed by Arador Kahn for maximum sonic devastation. It is characterized by the loud shrieks it makes when firing. The Howl is designed to be used for capturing targets as the sonic blasts are often enough to incapacitate targets by disrupting their sense of balance when it inflicts vestibular hyperacusis, usually making it simple enough to take in someone without them putting up much of a fight. The Howl functions a bit differently than most trigger based weapons as it only fires once the trigger is released. This allows for the Howl to charge up a shot when the trigger is pulled and then delivered to inflict massive internal damage when fired at full charge. It only takes two seconds to fully charge a shot which typically is fatal if it hits its mark, whereas one second is typically enough to shatter objects it comes into contact with. Firing in rapid succession makes it so that it functions as a simple tool for subduing targets.
