An innovative biomechanical cloaking suite intended for use in the upcoming Horla-class vessel, the Apparition system is intended to render Helix vessels almost entirely impossible to perceive.
The system serves as both cloaking device and incubator, able to contain and nourish a large number of Helix's in-house Ysalamiri breed. When gathered in numbers, the Ysalamiri's field can stretch to cover a small vessel, rendering the vessel invisible to Force-senses. When desired, the system can inject the reptiles with a sedative, rendering them comatose and removing the Force-nullification field.
In addition to this, the Apparition provides more mundane protections, rendering the vessel all but invisible to sensors and eyes alike. When used to its full capacity, the attached vessel can slip into heavily-guarded enemy space with impunity.
However, should the vessel be struck by ion weaponry, the cloaking field will not only fail permanently until repaired, but the Ysalamiri inside may be electrocuted and killed, costing Helix a small fortune in one fell swoop. Both the system and its reptilian cargo are expensive, and not easily replaced...
