Late Due Retribution [Mandalorians vs. Galactic Empire]

Krant

The incident and battle of Mandalore was still something that all Mandalorians still had not forgotten and it was something that had to be paid in blood. That was the only way how they could avenge their fallen. Not by credits, a letter of apology, or any other form of currency save for blood.

And the Empire would pay and pay and pay until it was sufficient enough for the Fallen.

Two Orar'uliiks, a ship class that was the pinnacle of stealth vessels, had slip past behind Imperial defenses and entered the system of Krant. It would be an attack that the Empire didn't thought of. It could've been Kamino and disrupt the prooduction of some batches of clones or Scarif that was a grand military fortress world.

But why Krant? Simple reason to it. Disruptive or sabotage of agricultural production. The Empire needed to feed its own people and soldiers, and without the means to consistently feed Imperial subjects it could cause internal strife within the Empire and make its people turn against each other for survival.

"Plain and simple, folks. While we are here to kill some plastic heads the main goal is to damage their agricultural production. There's two major cities that pride themselves in doing those things. If we hit them hard enough, it'll help us in long run. Civilians are also free game. So don't expect your hand to be slapped if you shoot at non-military people."

"Five minutes till we land," the pilot announced to her passengers.

"Lit and dope."

Krant.

Decades ago, the backwater planet had been the seat of a young Sith's power. A home was erected here: the first Citadel of Darth Metus. Within those obsidian walls did he create wonders...Within those walls did he cultivate a family. Yet, with Power came hatred, and the young Sith flew too close to the Sun. The wings of his might melted away - the Confederacy he shepherded turned against him. The seat of his power was toppled over and reduced to ash...Krant had become a memory. A wound that scabbed over as the years rolled by. Yet Providence would have it that the Sith Lord returned to where it all began. Fate would have it that Darth Metus descended upon the ruins of citadel.

Time, surprisingly, had been kind.

What was reduced to ash had become vibrant. Green. Fields sprawled out before him as far as the eye could see. Fruits. Crops. The bounty of the earth was plentiful, and an Empire had capitalized upon it. Darth Metus stood upon the hilltop: the very same which housed his home. Descent gripped him until a stray piece of rubble became his seat. Eyes of sulphur watched the peace below: numerous farmers went about their day...it was quiet. There was no tension, no thought of demise, no fear. There was only peace. Only order. It seemed as though Krant had became what he desired, even in the wake of his Fall. Krant was thriving.

And so, for many minutes, the Sith Lord took in the sights. Quietly. Happily.

Krant.

The young Mandalorian would learn of it, its history and all that it had been from her father [member="Darth Metus"]. She had learned of her father's first citadel, she had learned of his ways. In the end, she cared more to right the wrong that had been wrought upon them. Today the Empire would know retribution, she came with her ships, dropships, gunships, heavy frigates and the hybrid gunship/dropship. Within the depths of space, within its blackness, she had come to a singular conclusion. The Galactic Empire would be made to kneel before the Mandalorians, would be made to kneel before her father. Amaya Verd's ships quietly slipped out of hyperspace and she saw others of her people there above Krant. She made contact with them both [member="Lok Munin"] and her father, "I've brought ships from our fleet, and Mandalorians ready to drop from orbit on your word."

Today she would put aside the lessons of [member="Artemis Lux"] and draw upon the teachings of House Verd. She wore older beskar'gam it was dated and worn, but it would do the job, Teyn Gratiir stood at her side with the markings of clan Gratiir on his armor instead of clan Verd. "Kando'sii sa ka'tra, vode an." Teyn spoke turning from Amaya's side as he moved to speak to the men behind him. "Gra'tua cuun hett su dralshy'a." Their vengeance would burn brighter still, and on this day may the glory of their battle tell its own tale. The warrior moved within the ship's hulls as the other men and women rose to their feet.

With the new responsibility she had been handed recently, it had seemed a welcome break to settle back into what she knew on the battlefield. Even better, they would finally be striking back against the Imperials that had wrought so much destruction on Myrkr. Holding grudges was something their people were known famously for, second only to their wrathful vengeance against those that had done them wrong. Keira was more than happy to throw her lot in when it came to harassing the Empire, and she listened silently as [member="Lok Munin"] doled out his orders. Shifting in her seat, she leaned forward, helmeted gaze appraising him for a moment before she spoke, "We're not killing civilians. That makes us no better than those we're here to seek vengeance against. If any of you shoot a non-combatant, you'll answer to me."

As much as she sometimes loathed having to take command, there were moments where her newfound authority had its perks. "You're Mand'alor's son, and I respect that. But be careful where you direct your wrath, otherwise where will you draw the line between what we're doing today and what happened on Myrkr?" Having spoken her piece she left him to his business, retreating again to silence and that meditative state most every warrior developed before battle. The phrik plating of her armor shifted audibly as she once again relaxed, ceding to waiting until they made landfall.

While the Mandalorians had managed to slip past the Empire's border without a run in with a stray star destroyer, they were not as quiet when exiting hyperspace over Krant. The arrival of heavy frigates and various smaller vessels tripped the planetary sensor web, sending a transmission to the Imperial Navy. Normally, a standard squadron would be dispatched to deal with this threat, but as scans determined the vessels to be Mandalorian in origin, Grand Admiral Graf believed he should handle the incident personally...

The man was in the midst of preparing for war games between his fleet and that of High Moff Aut-X's when the report appeared on his datapad. After due deliberation, he decided to send his own fleet to secure Kothlis while he and [member="Aut-X"] would attend to the situation together at Krant. At Hypori the Mandalorians had faced the might of the Stormtrooper Corps and were forced to retreat against the overwhelming numbers after holding out for over an hour, Graf knew that even in small groups, the Mandalorians were not to be trifled with.

Shortly thereafter did Imperial, in name but not origin, vessels arrive over Krant. A massive Lucrehulk-class Droid Control Ship, along with a handful of escort ships including Providence, Recusant, and Munificent-classes. They did not move to engage the Mandalorians yet, instead they dispersed several C-9979 landing craft, guarded by dozens of Vulture droids, that would make their way down to the surface of the planet in a bid to secure the area before their adversaries did.

A specific C-9979 amongst the landing force had been set aside for Graf and Aut-X, it's full infantry compliment consisting of the High Moff's personal regiment of BX-series Commando Droids and a handful of IG-100 Magnaguards. Aut-X was no fool. The Mandalorians were valiant warriors, and he would ensure there would be no surprises he could not calculate a defence for. OM-8, the High Moff's loyal OOM-series Droid Commander and personal assistant walked over to the Moff and his superior as they went over tactical details on a large holographic map within the landing craft command centre, handing Aut-X and Graf the latest tactical reports. "The reports you ordered, sirs! Our transports will encircle the village during the landing, as requested.", OM-8 said in his chirpy voice. "Excellent. Organise my commandos before we land.", Aut-X said in reply, his underling letting out a quirky "Roger roger!" before quickly departing downstairs.

"The bravado of these Mandalorians never ceases to confuse me.", Aut-X said to the Grand Moff as he went over the strategic data presented to him. "Why do they think it a wise idea to challenge a far superior adversary?", the super tactical droid said, a hint of annoyance in his mechanical tone of voice.

Behind his helmet he rolled his eyes at his senior officer. While he was the one giving out orders didn't mean he was in command. Warriors with more experience than him and were part of Vilaz's trust circle such as Keira, Alkor, his stepmother Briika obviously, and a couple of others held more wisdom and intelligence than him.

But this Keira he was having did not appear to be the Keira of old. The one that Vilaz fought against several times and had a grudge against her.

"You're boring. My dad told my stories that made you fun," the youngster said to the Ticon which would get him punished in some manner.

More Mandalorians came, but not in the style of stealth. More in the style of look-at-me-here-I-am-shoot me. Lok groaned and sighed. Nothing he could do except keep on going with plan. "Copy that Verd. Thanks for the backup."

"Should we abo-"

"No, we stay the course. Get us as close as you can and then station the ship far off while staying in stealth mode. You're our only ticket out of this rock and possibly the system."

"Copy that, red light kicking in back there."

It got dark where all the armored and armed Mandalorians were waiting to be dropped off before the annoying red light flashed at their faces.

HK-36

The Iron Lord Protector (Neutral Good)

The Imperial Remnant was not the only force to notice the large force of ships moving into the Krant sector. Since their claim on the Denon sectors the Metal Lords begun to guard their space and watch their neighbors jealously, already going through multiple diplomatic border incidents with the Galactic Alliance and Free Worlds Coalition, their sensors picked up on unusual amount of ships moving from the Mando'ade space through hyperlanes heading towards what was either going to be Imperial, old Sacred Lotus, or neutral space in the area. As the word of this strange movement spread through the droid leadership most reached the conclusion of "Let organics do their business, we do not care" couple machine lords, however, decided it was exciting enough to investigate.

And so shortly after the arrival of Mandalorians the Imperial sensors overlooking Krant system would be able to pick up on energy signatures indicating more ships entering realspace at the edge of the system. With flashes of light a raiding fleet of unmarked corvettes would phase into existence, their hulls were colored either fully steel grey or black, with no fanfare or elaborate markings and sigils the Metal Lords usually enjoyed so much in their fleet decorations. They were Abregado War Galleys, closer scans should probably tell as much if the Remnant had access to Closed Market ship data, after they got that they would probably be able to tell, or at least make suspicions, about who sent the fleet.

Either way, as the corvettes begun to fall into formation and move in the direction of Imperial ships couple transmissions were sent out from one of the commanders of the galleys, HK-36 himself as he decided the event could turn profitable enough to warrant him showing up in person. The first one was sent to the Mandalorians, an encrypted holo-transmission showing the image of the droid in battle armor and black cloak, the machine spoke in Mando'a, perhaps Lok was familiar with the sight, if not Keira should at least recall him from the droid's run-in with the woman recently during the peace talks between various powers who met on the Sacred Lotus' Monastery capital,

[Mando'a] "Greetings, Children of the Sole Ruler. Over the years I and my brethren came to aid Mandalore in their time of need, we recognize our ancient alliance once more and come to help you seek justice. Beings of flesh, children of iron, one Code. Tell us where you could use us the most and our ships will give these Imperials sods the Keldabe kiss."

By then the Imperials would probably be able to pick up on more ships nearing the edge of their space, using ancient and mostly forgotten hyperlane pathways to get closer to their space, perhaps that was why the various ships were able to slip past their outer patrols and suddenly arrive in Krant's vicinity. However, unlike the forward raiding corvette group, these seemed to be various frigates and larger cruiser, reinforcement for the initial lighter vessels. It was their size that gave out their movement and let Imperials pick up on it before they even entered their space, it would be still some time before the ships would enter realspace.

The second transmission was sent to [member="Aut-X"], the other droid would not be given the curtesy of an image like the Mandalorians were along with their message, but then again he didn't need it, after hearing the other droid's voice it should be enough to identify to which unit, or at least model or series, the words belonged to, after all him and HK had couple run-ins before,

"Aut-X, so I see you still waste your potential under the organic heel, and an Imperial one no less. Why fuse yourself to this bloated corpse and have them drag you into the void with them?"
