Lead By Light

"Fishing boats just don't rely on fishermen."

No, the cub still didn't know what the two women were talking about. But it seemed like the blonde furred one was telling the short furred one that someone needed to be minding the reactors. But why would a healer be minding a piece of machinery? Healers were for people. Machinists were for machines.

"There are carpenters, and sail makers, and navigators," the cub remarked, illustrating his understanding by relating it to the Beorni village. "So maybe you just need some engineers to mind the reactors."

She was looking at the woman and remained there when the padawan started making more sense. If they were going to do things they wouldn't have a healer in the engine room monitoring the equipment they would have an engineer, a tech person, a droid designated to that position. That was one of the draws of what they had to do. "The joshu converters are a staple for making things as well as the other technology designed to keep ships self sustaining. It is how Sasori can produce massive hospital statios or have colony ships designed to be self automated." She stuck with it while rising up and going through while the view port was there showing many of the things. The Triage class was still being worked on and there was more of it while the plating for the ship itself was being set up. She could see the interior where the hanger with its medical ships would be and the lack of guns would only help with the pressors to keep it fairly safe. Who targeted medical ships after all.

"I know I disagreed with some Jedi Healer that said no point-defense against navigational hazards would be necessary: I always wanted some point-defense, even though pressors would probably be our instrument for point-defense"

No capital guns was probably be a thing they could accept, but no point-defense was a big no-no for Jessica. But cargo ships are more vulnerable than to piracy attacks, hence why Ringovinda StarYards always fitted capital guns on bulk freighters - and that was one of the two axes for forcing both Kuat Drive Yards and Rendili StarDrive off the bulk freighter market. It might cost more in terms of crew and upkeep but it beats the cost of dedicated escorts. Larger ships require more escorts. That much she knew. But knowing their ships would be heavily armed enough to fight their way out would be a better choice, which make pirates much less comfortable and incur less losses in shipping. Yet, upon hearing Kiriko's description, she is immediately reminded of the fact that there are way more Jedi healers than there are Jedi technicians. I would probably challenge Cathbodua into commanding a Triage-class ship, she thought.

"No capital guns, however, is an acceptable compromise - capital guns are known to put more drain on a ship's reactors than all other systems, sometimes combined"

Meanwhile, at the loading dock...

The aging Corellian spacer stood on the loading ramp, watching as the parts and equipment were unloaded from the cargo bays of the Nadesico. Sasori had always been a company that Corellia Digital liked doing business with, and was one of their earliest investors. As such, they were quick to supply any new project of the company or its subsidiaries with the best electronics on the market.

Medicine was an area that the company didn't delve in, but that wasn't to say that its parts and equipment weren't useful. There was honestly no telling just how the computers were going to be put to use. Monitoring patients. Or bacta tanks. She was sure that she didn't know, but she expected it would all be put to good use nonetheless.

She continued to listen while walking through the halls and with the massive station they had a lot that could come and go through everything. Cathbodua was leading the way until they got to the outer doors that were attached to one side of the ship that was bringing the different equipment through. Cathbodua stood there as they were showing off the massive and more hopefully impressive Triage ship. Some information and development that pushed into the different things she was wanting on the ship. The resource stations they had developed to create supplies for medical facilities was important and they were bringing about. She wanted to work on more of the design ideas but there wasn't a lot, without giving it massive guns and losing status as a medical ship or enough fighters to run defense it came down to making sure that is was built and able to go across a battle field with all of those ships in its hanger. Not special but made to move quickly. "I think we have a majority of what we need here worked on. Just need some teams to make sure the hanger is fully operational and the extendable sections."

The bear saw people moving crates.

He might not understand what was in them, or the sky boats that carried them across the great sea of stars, but he knew how to help move stuff. So he could at least help get stuff moved where it was supposed to be.

Being a helper bear was its own reward. Especially when Miss [member="Cathbodua"] was so nice.

And had bacon.

Bacon was always a plus.

"...just need some teams to make sure the hanger is fully operational and the extendable sections."

The Corellian woman gave a nod.

"By the look of things, you're close," the elder stated. And she was. A few more connections and this part of the ship would doubtless be up and running soon. "It's an impressive design," the lady remarked, turning her attention back to the woman. "If Sakura would be willing, I'm sure I could get the kid to approve funding to purchase one of these for the Kathol Outback Search and Rescue outfit to use."

This thing would be like a glorious playground of modern medicine in that backwoods part of the cosmos.

Someone already wanting one for themselves.... hmm she could work with that and give them the better ideas to it. "That can be done, the Outback can get one for themselves to use." She was all for it and search and rescue needed a large ship sometimes to be a home base. It would serve good for them while the sections that opened up and closed in were important so that they wouldn't store more on the level that could get smashed together when it was closing. She looked at the compliment within the hanger itself and no combat craft which would make it. She knew they were putting one of the higher performance engines in the ship so it would be able to move forward faster if it was needed to get out of combat situations. "With the hanger how it is, they should be able to on battle fields better contain problems and being neutral in a fight. Two main entrances and they can divide them up with the ships to have different sides. Avoid chances of fighting on the ship even though it would be a low point and the synthweave within it hull will allow healers on board to feel a calmness and focus improving their abilities."

It was also easy negotiating when the money on the table wasn't yours.

"If the hanger will support one or more H-wing ambulances, I imagine they'll be over the moon," the woman remarked, with a curt nod. A ship of this type in the Kathol Outback would be quite the prize. Assuming, of course, the Underground could keep it safe. The technology on board would be worth a lot of credits on the black market.

And, often times, the black markets were the more legitimate ones in some parts of the Outback.

The bear got to work moving boxes.

Especially the big boxes. Which startled and amazed some of the workers mulling around the hangar, as in many cases crates that had required two or even three individuals were suddenly being carted about by a single bear.

There was something to be said for being Midvinter tough. And it meant that the work got done that much faster, since Kiriko was able to free up as many as three workers to do other stuff while he took care of unloading the freight.

"It should be able to, I am not certain of the size of the ships you are talking about but it is able to hold medical shuttles and transports for going around. The total number though might change depending on the size of the ships themselves." In truth she had gone for getting more of the smaller ones they could manage and the little ones that could zoom around and find ships were much the same. Before though she had more of the crates and boxes there with different food stuffs for the people and she set some aside for herself getting one of the small pint sized cans of the ice cream while it was there. Some tactical cans of bacon and soup for the bear cu and of course for him some ice cream or other food if he wanted. It she wasn't certain about what he might need but they would give it to him. "We also have for it the bilge berths that will allow the ship to dock with and hold four of the smaller medical cruisers we have developed."
