Learning is fun!

Sophia had been far too busy as of late to train. She had work and family so training was placed on the back burner until now. She wanted Jedi training in order to help her become a better Viceroy, a better mother. She felt that it would help her get a little more peace in her life and less scattered brained as she was beginning to come.

Stepping into the Temple on Chroma Zed Sophia glanced around looking for someone anyone whom wasn't busy or at least not as busy as her whom could help her enhance her abilities.

Krest hummed his way down the hallway, hands behind his back. The Zabrak's hood was down and his blue eyes trailed over the decorations on the wall. He was completely not busy and it was plain to see. Perfect for the taking if @[member="Sophia Walsh"] jumped at it.

"So which one of the paintings do you like more, Knight @[member="Kest"] ?" Sophia questioned as she came up behind him. She hoped that she wasn't bothering him however she doubted she was. He looked rather bored actually just standing there. If she was lucky he could train her or at least teach her a thing or two today while she had some time.

She knew him to be a new knight of the order so his skills were rather fresh. He would be a good one to learn from as she was sure he was eager to teach. The older masters she knew could be stuck in their ways plus she was married to a master so she didn't need that. This would be great.

Krest looked over his shoulder, blinking his blue eyes. "I don't know actually. I never did understand art in this form." He turns his gaze back up to a particular painting. A sword fight between a Templar Master and a Sith Lord by the looks of it. The Zabrak tilted his head a bit, admiring. "Though, the art here is something I like. Not the stillness. It needs movement, action. Life." He smiles to himself before looking back to @[member="Sophia Walsh"]. "What do you think?"

"I agree but this painting is much better than what is in my office. I have some abstract art or something. They told me it was supposed to be peaceful and calming or something. I'm not sure that's true though as I'm always stressed out about something" She hadn't come here to talk about art though and she was pretty sure he didn't much want to talk about art either.

"I came around here looking for help learning more about the Force. I have been putting it off for far too long but you know things." She didn't expect for him to train her but maybe he could point her in the right direction.

@[member="Krest"]

Krest rubbed the back of his neck. "Abstract art huh? I never liked that. Just random swirls and crap. Seems like lazy art to me." He turns his gaze back to her, blinking. He wanted nothing more then to teach, so this was a perfect chance. "What is it you want to learn? I can teach you if you'd like."

@[member="Sophia Walsh"]

"I didn't pick it out my designer did. I rather have something else but doesn't really matter I don't spend a lot of time in there," Sophia was always running around somewhere or in a meeting. She never stayed still or got the chance to breath.

"I'm a blank canvas, I don't know much in the way of Force abilities I'm sorry to say. I want to be able to better protect myself and fight if need be. I'm open to learning anything you would be willing to teach." She was just ecstatic that someone was willing to teach her because she could and would be a good student as she always had been.

"Projectile guidance is interesting but I may just think that as I am former military and being able to guide my bullet or arrow to my target would be nice." Sophia had never been a real good shot.

@[member="Krest"]

Krest rubbed the back of his neck more, glancing back to the painting. "I can't actually help you with projectile guidance. I'm not really one for range. I can teach you how to use a blade and increase your movement speed no issue." It wasn't the proudest moment for the Zabrak. He had a lot to learn about ranged weaponry, but at least he was good with a blade.

@[member="Sophia Walsh"]

"You could help me use a light saber? Is that what you mean by a blade? Either way I would be interested in any help that you can give. I don't know much in the ways of the Force. I have always been far too busy with my work but I don't want that to be an excuse anymore." Sophia would be grateful for whatever help he could give her. She was willing to learn whatever it was he wished to teach.

@[member="Krest"]

"I do, I just don't use it. I have always relied on my blaster though the blaster and I never do well together. I have always been a terrible shot however I do seem to be alright with a crossbow." She had been an office in the Navy so ground combat was not something she had much experience in though she had taken the basic classes and such.

@[member="Krest"]

Krest nods slow. "Very well, show me." In truth he wanted to inspect the blade. Sabers were made specific to each person, and you could normally tell a lot about how one would fight based on the saber design.

@[member="Sophia Walsh"]

Sophia took the light saber off her belt and handed it to @[member="Kest"] . It was nothing special, just a regular light saber that she had actually gotten from her mother. She swung the blue blade saber a few times but nothing major.

"It used to be my mothers. It was kinda her spare."

Krest nodded slow. Well, so much for understanding her. First thing after this he needs to get the girl to make her own saber. But for now..

The Zabrak looked over the blade, examining all its components. "Even for a spare it's pretty well made." He tossed it back to @[member="Sophia Walsh"]. "Turn the blade on and get into a stance you think you should use when fighting another saber user."

It wasn't perfect but it was what she had. Sophia knew that she ought to make one of her own but she had no idea how to go about that plus she was quite alright with what she had for the moment. Grabbing the saber as it was thrown to her she ignited it and stood to her right side her knees bent a little with her humming blue blade out in front of her. "Like this?"

@[member="Krest"]

Sophia nodded before doing a few quick slashes in front of her. She had waved it around before so she was pretty good at doing that at least. She wasn't sure what the point of just waving it was but she was sure @[member="Kest"] had a reason for what he asked. She figured that he was looking to see if she had a style or something which she at the moment did not have. She was very random with how she used her blade.

Krest scratched his chin. Yeah, she was pretty random. "Uh, yeah. Good. I guess." He frowned for a moment, thinking on where to take this. Then an idea came to mind.

"Spread your feet. Put your dominant foot behind you and keep your blade pointed up at an angle towards your foe." @[member="Sophia Walsh"]

Sophia did as she was told spreading her feet and angling the blade towards him. She took a few more swings while she was at it finding them not as random this time. "Are we going to duel or maybe I'll practice with a droid? That ought to be terribly interesting as I'm not super great at the moment." Sophia could see herself getting zapped in the butt or hurt by dueling someone. The young woman had the tendency of getting herself hurt or in terrible situations when it came to enemy Force users.
@[member="Krest"]

Krest pulled out his saber, nodding to her. "For now yes, I'll be your partner. This way I can tell you what to work on. And don't worry about not being good. It'll make it easier to keep each other from getting hurt."
