Learning the Force

At the Jedi Temple on Voss

It had only been a week since Xieza joined the Jedi Order. Today was the day he would finally get to train. He was nervous, yet excited. He wanted to better himself in the ways of the force. This had been something he wanted to do ever since he discovered that he was force sensitive, and today, he would finally get to do so.

Xieza was standing outside the temple. This was where he was to meet the person who would be training him. He understood basic force techniques, such as force push, force pull, and force jump, but that was it. He wasn't even that good at those techniques yet. Today was the day for him to get better. All these thoughts flowed through his head as he patiently waited.

Matsu's body contorted as she worked with the training droids. Their settings as high as she could get for the training to dodge and move. She tucked herself in before rolling on the ground and popping up over another baton. The air crackling with some energy while she twisted in place feeling the baton brush past her face before she was on the ground and activating a blade from the ground. The purple beam coming to her hand with a snap hiss before she slashed. There was a padawan coming to see her, one who was new to the order and that would give her something to focus on while also going over the notes they had gathered. She was still trying to piece it all together but a smile curled her lips as she felt the sparks come near her. THe jedi moving her hands to grip the saber as the thin blade hummed painting her in the pale light. "And what is your name." She said it with her voice not displaying emotion but let it project out to reach the padawan.

Xieza bowed to her.

"My name is Xieza Blade, master. I seek training in the force."

[member="Matsu Ike"] had put on quite the performance before she confronted him. It was interesting to watch, really. It had also made Xieza a little nervous, but he was ready to work his hardest to get better in the force.

Matsu looked at him as she stood there for a moment and deactivating the blade slid it onto her belt, deft hands going into her robes as she turned to look the padawan over. She let her face remain emotionless but she was letting her eyes flick back and forth over him for a brief moment as thoughts came to her. "That is a very broad area to want to learn." Her hand came out while she was focusing and brought energy to her hands. "The force can do many things, from strengthening the body to allow you to lift large stones to creating storms. Do you have an idea what you would like to narrow it down to."

Xieza blinked as he looked at the energy form in her hands. Fascinating it was. He looked back up and met her eyes.

"I do not have any specifics that I would like to narrow down to. Perhaps you could suggest some subjects for me master?"

Matsu looked at him and clenched slowly her hand as the energy fizzled out before she was speaking. "Well from my experience many have wanted to learn the flashy powers, learn how to throw energy from their hands to disable. It is not an easy task but easier then some of the more internal. I myself am more balanced, choosing to learn the whole of the force in all its aspects rather then just some things. It has gotten me in trouble with some believing I don't focus or develop but in the end I have never had to dwell on the past only learned from it and I have learned how to talk with the force to channel the energies of a planet throughout my body. For you I think starting with the basics will help and going from there to see what you excel at."

Xieza watched as the energy fizzled away. It had gone just as it had come. He looked back up when she started speaking again. When she was finished speaking, Xieza replied.

"Then the basics, it is. What is my first task in training, master?"

Well it was good if nothing else he was willing to learn. She had seen other padawans so sure of what they wanted or who acted like masters already... Nice change of pace as she stood there clasping her hands behind her back. "The first step for a padawan is learning how to bring the force to their bodies, to manipulate it in small ways as to push a feather around an area. They begin doing this as children and move up to larger and larger objects. We'll start simple with you first trying to lift the stones around us and then me. Now clear your mind and focus on the breath you are taking in. Feel the force within it and let it fill your lungs then go outwards into your fingers and muscles."

Xieza closed his eyes and concentrated. He takes in a breath and feels the force stir inside his body. It traveled through his body and up his arms until it made it to his finger tips. Xieza then focused on what he was trying to lift, the stones. Slowly, he raised his arms. As he did this, the stones were rising in the air. In no time, the stones were floating around both, Xieza and [member="Matsu Ike"]. A few drops of sweat dropped from his hair. He was heavily concentrated on keeping the stones in the air for as long as he could. After about a minute of holding them in the air perfectly, he slowly lowered them back down until they were on the ground. He opened his eyes.

"Lifting stones this small is quite an easy task, master."

Matsu watched him while she listened. Saying it was easy was not always the best way to go about it as she gave a tight lipped smirk towards the padawan as she stepped back a little more walking up a few steps into the air. "Rocks with focus is one thing, rocks while running, while fighting will be something else. There is many things you can learn but do not think it is easy. That is when you will make mistakes and overestimate yourself which can lead to harm for yourself or for others." Her eyes continued to narrow on him while motioning and letting herself hover. "Now try lifting the stones and putting your focus on something else."

"Alright"

Just as he had done a moment ago, he lifted the rocks. Slowly, they rose, until they were floating in the air. His eyes were closed, as they were before. After the rocks were set where he wanted them, he opened his eyes.

"Hmm..."

He took a step, the rocks shivering slightly in the air. He took another step and the rocks started the shake more. He slowly started walking at an easy pace. Sweat rolled down his face and the rocks were starting to shake even more. He walked and held them up for as long as he could, but finally, the rocks dropped.

"You were right, master. It is more difficult than I had thought."

"It shall only get more so." Matsu remained where she was and kept her focus now extending her arms to lift some rocks as she hovered there. "The force is everywhere, it is infinite but your ability to control it will not be... mostly. There are exceptions and there are ways to bend the rules of the force for a time. It won't always work and there can be a dangerous price but if you are in danger, if people are in danger it can be very important to save them. Now do you have any questions?"

Matsu looked at him now and finally really smiled with it. "A good question, the basics of telekinesis are what you know but now lets focus inward. Tapas has been used by the jedi and force users for a very long time to keep themselves warm in the coldest of environments. We'll work on that and the basics of it are the same as learning to focus and breathe. Only instead of sending the energy out to wrap you use it to warm your core and send it outward through your body."

This one sounded quite interesting to Xieza. Being able to warm his body when in extreme cold temperatures. That could be very helpful in the future. Xieza brought the force back into himself, it flowing into his body. He listened to [member="Matsu Ike"] 's instructions and pushed it to warm his core, then moving it throughout his body. His body warmed quite quickly.

"Wow... this could be very helpful."

She kept looking at him and gave a nod of her head while coming to down to stand before him. "It is and with practice the heat can be increased to create convection a skill that radiates off the skill to prevent others from manhandling you. Adds fire to your fists if you have to get into hand to hand combat and more. Taking it further you can make the body almost on fire. A rare skill and something that would have to be practiced but there are always the unique within the galaxy."

Matsu looked at the padawan as she thought about how best to teach the skill. If he was looking to specialize in the technique it could work as she spoke. "Then we shall go to work with it, the basis of it is to turn the heat for your body into a small shield over your skin. THe hotter it burns the more control you will need so you don't let it ignite. Like moving through water or oil but you need to choose where it can go on your skin."

Xieza slowly started to pull in the force, yet again. He formed heat with it, warming his body. After his body was quite warm, he pushed it outwards. This caused some of the heat to be released from his body. The rest of the heat formed a shield of high temperatures around his right arm. He pushed the heat more. As he did that, more shields of high temperatures formed around his body. It felt odd, but it was working. If someone tried to touch him with bare skin would most likely be slightly burned.

"This is quite interesting. The heat is shielding my body... What's next, master?"

Matsu looked at him for a moment and was standing there as her eyes were glowing a little blue. The energy in her hands excited as it sparked and her fingers snapped creating a small ball of fire before she held it out. "The next step is learnign how to control it. Throwing a ball of fire at you would be a way to do it but that can be dangerous. So when you feel you are ready take it from my hand and work to try and contain it. Both keeping it going and keeping yourself from getting burned."
