Eyeing Guffy, Lula pinned her ears back and growled in warning.

Guffy seemed to jump back, before rushing behind Jonyna's leg, looking spooked.

The lesson learned today?

Girls are scary and mean. Don't trust them.

"Oh please, Val would squeal at the sight of one. You just need to approach her before you do." Jonyna joked. "So how you been adjusting to Council Life, Cora?"

It was a simple question, but Jonyna wanted to make sure their newest members adjusted well. She was still struggling at times herself, but she always suspected that would be the case.

Coruscant

From the moment Kaelyn set foot on the bustling world, he found that there was never a dull moment — something was always happening. For Kaelyn, the constant noise and flurry of activity felt oddly comforting, reminding him of home on Epica, where the rhythmic clanging of metal and the hum of machinery filled the air.

The fiery-haired Padawan practically buzzed with curiosity and excitement, moving through the vibrant environment with the wide-eyed wonder of a child discovering the galaxy for the first time. His sense of awe only grew when he encountered a group of small, furry creatures. Having never seen anything like them before, he was immediately fascinated. To Kaelyn, unknown life forms sparked the same thrill of discovery as a new invention waiting to be built.

Taking a brief pause to steady himself from the overwhelming rush of new sights and sounds, Kaelyn lifted the back of his hand to wipe away a smudge of soot staining his cheek — a lingering mark from his most recent tinkering project, a reminder of where his restless curiosity often led him.

Azurine's head snapped up at the sound of Anneliese's voice, her heart nearly leaping out of her chest. She blinked, momentarily stunned as if she couldn't trust her own senses. So many months had passed since she'd last seen her sister Padawan, and the sudden warmth of the patterns in her aura filled her with an almost overwhelming sense of joy.

She would have reached out to give the redhead a hug, but that would have required her to get up from her place on the bench and possibly disturb the adorable thing that had made her lap into a nap spot.

"Holy bantha podo, Annie!" Azzie's voice was breathless, a grin spreading across her face. The little racyon kit in her lap finally shifted, letting out a soft squeak of protest as Azzie adjusted her hold a bit. But the tiny baby's apparent disapproval was a distant thought compared to the flood of emotions surging through Azzie's chest. She hadn't realized just how much she had missed Anneliese until now. "Where in the kriffing galaxy have you been??"

She let out a laugh, her voice tinged with disbelief. "You have no idea how good it is to see you." She paused, glancing down at Cinnamon, who was now stretching her tiny paws out and once again kneading at her legs. "Yeah, according to Counselor Corazona, little Cinnamon here decided I'm her chosen person. No take-backs, apparently."

Beneath the banter, Azzie's heart quietly whispered the truth she couldn't say aloud: So much has happened and there's so much I want to tell you about.

Anneliese's heart skipped a beat when she saw Azurine's face light up with joy. It felt like a lifetime since she had last seen her sister Padawan. The guilt of not reaching out sooner weighed heavily on her heart, but the immense relief and happiness at this reunion pushed those feelings to the back of her mind.

"Azzie!" Anneliese's voice was filled with a mix of excitement and guilt. "I've missed you so much. I'm so sorry I didn't reach out sooner."

She walked over to Azurine, her fiery red hair catching the light as she moved. The sense of separation from everyone had been intense, but seeing Azzie again filled her with a sense of belonging she had been missing.

"I've been on Midvinter for the past few months," Anneliese explained, her voice tinged with both sadness and determination. "Training intensively with Thurion to further my abilities and heal from the war. It's been a difficult journey, but necessary."

As she spoke, a tiny racyon kit toddled over, its curious eyes fixed on Anneliese. The little creature, with its striped fur and tiny paws, looked up at her with an inquisitive expression. Without hesitation, it latched onto Anneliese's leg, its small claws gently digging into her trousers and climbing quickly and determinedly up and onto her shoulder where it began to burrow into her wild locks of hair..

Anneliese laughed softly, as her hand came up and gently scratched just behind the ears of the tiny kit. "Well, hello there, little one," smiling widely as she then scooped the young kit and brought it upwards and towards the comfort of her chest, the warmth of her own body making the kit comfortable "Your a determined little fellow, fiesty... I think Ember, would be a perfect name for you my little flame."

Ember squeaked in response, seemingly pleased with the new name. Anneliese held the baby racyon close, feeling an unexpected warmth from the tiny bundle of fur.

She turned her attention back to Azurine, her gaze softening with affection. "It's so good to see you, Azzie. I missed you more than words can express."

Anneliese's eyes met Azzie's, a silent understanding passing between them. They had both experienced so much, and there was so much to catch up on. But in this moment, they were simply grateful to be reunited.

"Look at you with Cinnamon," Anneliese said, her tone playful. "It seems like these little ones have chosen us."

She gently nuzzled Ember, feeling a sense of peace and connection she hadn't felt in a long time. "Let's sit and talk, Azzie. There's so much I want to tell you, and I want to hear everything that's been happening with you too."

Anneliese settled onto the bench beside Azurine, Ember nestled comfortably in her lap. The two sisters-in-arms, reunited, ready to share their stories and face whatever challenges lay ahead together.

The last time Azurine had seen Anneliese was... well before she had learned of their master's pregnancy. Considering that the baby had since come into the world, it had clearly been a while. She had been told not to worry, though she certainly had for a while, but eventually, so many other things piled up and completely buried that worry to the back of her mind. "I missed you too."

As she listened, a large and almost surprised grin spread across her face. "You were training with Master Heavenshield?" She'd met Thurion Heavenshield Thurion Heavenshield once after nearly dying on Tython and having to fight her way into a plague-infested space station. He'd been there when she woke up, taught her so much from just that short encounter. He reminded her so much of her father in a way. "What was Midvinter like?!"

Azzie couldn’t help but smile as another little kit snuggled into Anneliese’s chest, its tiny claws still clinging to her. “Seems like they’ve got a knack for their decision-making.” She said, her voice soft yet edged with a teasing warmth.

"There's so much I want to tell you, and I want to hear everything that's been happening with you too."

"No kidding, it's been one hell of a ride." She joked, one hand stroking the fur of the little kit in her lap, who was falling asleep once again, and the other making sure she wouldn't fall off as she slowly scooted over to make room on the bench for Annie to sit.

"I finally freed my homeworld..." Azzie explained, a bittersweet smile mixing with the confidence and determination in the fire of her amethyst eyes. "After over 900 years, my family can rest in peace." It was a hard-fought battle, and even then, they had been unable to stop the resurrection of an evil she had not been prepared for. But her people were starting to rebuild, and that was what mattered in the end. If that evil were to decide to come back, she would be there without hesitation—forever the beacon of Iridonia.

"Oh, and there was this conference on Dantooine. It's a shame you missed it—they had a ballroom set up and everything!"

With a smile, Cora dipped her head to Rayia Si Rayia Si . "I'd be delighted to," she said. Political quagmire aside, Ukatis boasted a natural beauty that could not be found on Coruscant. Rarely would she pass up the chance to show that side of her homeworld off.

With Guffy thoroughly repelled, Cora tsked. "Can you not be welcoming toward our guests, Lula?"

Said racyon resumed cleaning her squealing daughter. There was no sign that Cora's gentle chiding had even registered. And if it did, she did not care.

"Sorry," Cora turned to Jonyna Si Jonyna Si and Guffy in apology. "She has trouble getting along with other racyons. Doubly so when the babies are around."

With a cautious hand, she reached out to rub a finger behind Lula's ear. She glanced to Azurine - incapacitated by the sleeping kit on her lap - and Anneliese as the pair was almost brimming with quiet energy for one another. The sight was enough to stir her own sense of camaraderie before she turned back to Jonyna.

"I'm managing," she mused. "It's quite a bit of work, but I'm honored to be able to serve the Order in any capacity. That being said, I've yet to observe an official meeting in the council chambers."

"I've only ever seen the Council all together once, so don't worry too much about that." Jonyna shrugged. With a war on two fronts, the Jedi Council had become increasingly hard to get together in one place. Part of that was the increase in reach, but also everyone's personal places in the galaxy.

Amani Serys Amani Serys had her own Enclave to run, and was the wife of the Chancellor, which she was sure took up a good amount of time. Both Valery Noble Valery Noble and Kahlil Noble Kahlil Noble had the responsibilities of parenthood, a task she hoped to one day take up herself. Elias Edo Elias Edo and Efret Farr Efret Farr were now off starting their own thing on Naboo that Jonyna wasn't entirely clued in on, but was vaguely aware of due to galactic news she tried her best to keep up on.

And Jonyna wasn't entirely sure Zark San Tekka Zark San Tekka existed half the time, a ghost that only showed up when issues were dire.

While it certainly wasn't the fantasy she had built up in her head as a child, a group of friends that met regularly, life rarely turned out that way. She was just happy to be on the council, and to have people she can rely on.

Anneliese felt a rush of emotions as she listened to Azzie's voice, each word tinged with a mixture of nostalgia and excitement. It had been too long since they had seen each other, and Anneliese had missed her friend, no, her sister dearly.

A grin spread across her face as Azzie mentioned her training with Master Heavenshield. "Yeah," Anneliese replied, a note of pride in her voice. "It was incredible. Master Heavenshield is a legend, and training with him was... transformative."

The question about Midvinter made her eyes light up. "Midvinter is breathtaking," she said, her voice filled with wonder. "The landscapes, the culture, everything feels like it's straight out of a storybook. But it's also harsh and unforgiving," A dry chuckle escaping her lips, her nose scrunching just slightly. "You learn to respect the land and its people, very quickly."

As the Ember lay in her lap snuggling closer, Anneliese couldn't help but smile -- her index finger tracing the soft strips in his fur. She looked down at the tiny creature, its warmth and innocence a stark contrast to the chaos they had faced. "Seems like they've got great taste," she murmured, her voice soft and teasing.

Anneliese's expression grew more serious as she listened to Azzie's story about freeing her homeworld. Her heart swelled with pride for her friend. "Azzie, that's incredible," she said, her voice filled with awe. "What you've accomplished... it's more than most could ever dream of. I'm so proud of you Azzie... and I'm sure they are too." Again, another event she'd been absent for, guilt once again panging in the pit of her stomach and heart -- but, like with Val when she'd learned about the baby... never again, she wouldn't fail her friends and those she loved again.

The mention of the conference on Dantooine brought a playful grin to Anneliese's face. "A ballroom, huh? Sounds like I missed quite the event -- sounds to me like we need to get out and have a girls night, agreed? Maybe you can teach me some moves."

Anneliese's thoughts wandered back to their reunion, the warmth of friendship and shared experiences filling her heart. "There's so much I want to tell you too," she said, her voice soft, but filled with excitement. "I uh -- well, Roman asked Val for permission to marry me... we'll be setting a date soon, after Bogan, I made my decision to not wait, I couldn't..." She paused slightly as a shy smile spread across her lips, her cheeks flushing. "Surprise....!"

As they sat together, sharing stories and laughter, Anneliese felt a deep sense of belonging. It was moments like these that made the hardships worth it. Reconnecting with Azzie reminded her of the strength found in friendship and the unbreakable bonds they had forged.
