As the Witch-King finished speaking, Ostanes smiled coldly from under his mask and shook his head. He shifted his face first to an absolutely innocuous and unknown face of a janitor he had killed early in his take-over for Akure. The life had helped to fashion his first workspace, and a minor Dark Sided nexus. The poisonous amber eyes gazed directly at Ember with no mask hiding his face, waiting to catch his gaze and perhaps reveal a secret of his own that not any knew of really. Ember, he could and would have to trust. That was all there was to it.

As Embers' glance pooled over him, he made a casual gesture. It showed his hands were empty, free, and unoccupied of any talisman. At that moment, his mass rapidly expanded. Quite alarmingly, a wookie that was absurdly tall even for one of the Kashykkian natives stood where he had been. His lips pulled back in a snarl, and he spoke in a thickly accented basic.

"Continue, Clan-Father.... I am most interested in this replication of my peoples nature"

Edison moved to the talisman she'd been eyeing since examining it on the stone table: the raven talisman. She placed it around her neck and reached out with her powers to tap into its magic. With a jolt and a shudder, she felt herself shrinking and decreasing in mass. The effect was too quick for her to be frightened, but the young witch found herself startled by the sudden transformation.

Edison hopped on two clawed feet, looking this way and that. Her eyes were on the side of her head now, so rather than her normal three-dimensional view of the world, she found she had to move her head from side to side constantly in order to take in all the visual information.

Let's see what I can do, she thought to herself. A loud caw escaped her beak as she took a series of running steps, spread her jet-black wings, and leaped, flapping her wings as she strove to reach a branch some nine feet off the ground. Alighting there, she paused to examine the clearing and the witches below, interested to see what others did.
