Liar, Liar

Adjusting her body and aim, Joon took the first rock in her sights, eye sharp and breathing steady as a low breeze circled her.

"Q-2S5 pistol, E-11 Light blaster rifle, DC-15S Medium rate blaster rifle, DLT-19 heavy blaster. DC-15A heavy blaster, T-21 repeating cannon.”

She fired, sending the small rock pinging off to the side with a spit up of dust.

"And the E-Web cannon. But I didn’t like those.”

Joon fired again, and the next rock shot backwards. Lifting her head, she turned without a smart smile or glib remark and handed the carbine back, butt first.

"Trained to kill and not to fail – something I don’t want to forget how to do.”

"I've never liked the E-web or other crew weapons," Asemir agreed as he took the carbine. "They're destructive, sure, but cumbersome and awkward."

He looked down range towards the shattered stones. "You have the skills. You control your breathing. You shoot calmly." His gaze turned back to the woman before him. "Your teachers taught you well."

He automatically checked the carbine's chamber and sights again. It was a reflex, something he did without thinking. "And it's not just your shooting skills. You've changed. I can sense your strength in the Force. You've grown there too."

Asemir shook his head. "You have the skills. You have the determination. You have the drive. I'll be honest. Aside from some nuanced techniques, I'm not sure what I can teach you."

He pointed upwards, to the stars. "If you want to learn those techniques, there's no better way than hands on experience. There are opportunities out there. Are you up for that type of practice?"
