Tiresh snorted, some of her spiced wine making it up into her nose as a result. She instantly cupped a hand over her mouth as her body shook with silent laughter. Then she winced with pain as a burning sensation tingled in her nose.
"Ow!" She squeaked.
"What a creep! Oh force!" She wiped the tears of laughter away from her eyes. She turned and put her hand against her own cheek as she studied Isla's face and features. It was truly no surprise to Tiresh that Isla had been in a beauty pageant.
"I mean, your absolutely gorgeous… of coarse you won a beauty pageant! I… think I have… spiced wine in my nose…" She waved her hand next to her face attempting to dry the tears that were swelling in her eyes, partially due to the laughter and partially to do from the burning sensation.
"Ow!"
Tiresh was grateful that the Grand Admiral seemed content with enjoying the evening. It often felt like a dance when It came to political spheres… never knowing how long to remain on the personal level, and always wondering if they simply wished to move on to business. Tiresh felt a genuine connection with the woman, and so she was beginning to feel like she was, in fact, very genuine in her desire to connect simply as friends. What a refreshing relief! She took a deep breath as she recovered from the spiced wine, her finger tapped the side of her chin as she mused upon the best story to share with the Grand Admiral.
"Well… when I was a girl… 13… I was climbing a mountainside near our family estate with some friends. And I was wearing this dress… it was completely inappropriate for what we were doing, but I thought it was pretty and I wanted to wear it, so…" She shrugged with a laugh,
"… anyways, we were climbing down, and I slipped on some loose rocks. It sent me falling over a small cliff side, nothing terrible, but it was scary enough. But the worst part was that my dress got caught on an outcropping of branches…" She paused, covering her mouth again for a moment as she tried to hold in her own laughter,
"Well… I ended up hanging from this tree in my undergarments… my arms and head still stuck in the dress. Just dangling there! Oh force!" She shook her head, her hand still covering her mouth,
"And the boys had to come and rescue me! I was so embarrassed. I never wore a dress on the mountains ever again!"
She let out a loud and genuine laugh through her hand, her eyes closed tightly as she recalled the traumatizing memory. She finally regained her composure and drank down the rest of the spiced wine,
"Another please!" She beckoned to the gentleman in the stall. Her body was enjoying the warmth of the drink in the brisk weather. As the snow began to fall, she shivered slightly as well, looking up in the sky as the snow drifted down. She closed her eyes for a moment, letting the soft flakes grace her face and melt against her skin. It was a delightful sensation, one that she had never experienced while on Lujo.
But dear me, it was slightly chilly! Maybe it was the wine, but Tiresh was now comfortable enough to simply tug herself under the fur shrug with Isla. She let out a light laugh as they enjoyed the warmth of the fur together.
"Hope you don't mind… It is getting chilly out and this is… lovely." She said.
"So family…" She pressed her cheek up against the fur,
"I've told you some about my mother and father. I'm an only child… my father and mother were never married and so it was somewhat of an affair. My Mother was the Senator of Lujo… and she was… assassinated…" Tiresh cleared her throat, lifting her chin slightly at the weight of remembering such things,
"I have always lived with my father. Never got married… no kids… guess I just… haven't found someone yet." She shrugged nonchalantly, taking another sip of the spiced wine, then shifting her head to face Isla,
"Ok Ms. Nosey… Your turn. Family? Kids? Lover? Who's being nosy now? haha!" She gave her a wink. She had never remembered feeling so relaxed and able to let go and truly be herself, especially within the spheres she frequented. It was beyond refreshing... however she was secretly growing insecure, wondering if perhaps she had crossed a line with the Grand Admiral, or perhaps she had misread her and Tiresh had misstepped. She studied the woman's face for any clue as to how she truly felt about how close they seemed to be getting. She was prepared to take it back into a strictly professional direction, she did not want to risk what they were building together. But secretly, she craved companionship... and she felt as if Isla and her could truly become close...
"By the way... Please call me Tiresh. Titles are so overrated."
