Life Debt

Another day in this dark period on Coruscant. Vosstanie woke up to reports over the shortwave that another 'bacta barn' had been discovered by the Sith occupiers. A new shipment was expected to come in today, but all bets were off with the activity spiking due to this occasion. It was not exactly a frequent event that a supply cache was raided by Sith enforcement, but whenever it did happen, patrol activity would increase for a few days in hopes that another Resistance supply house might be located. Usually the Rebels would be able to take care of business and were savvy enough to keep anything else from immediately falling into Sith hands, but there was still a higher level of tension in the air. No one ever felt completely safe.

Tanie--or Sock Puppet by code designation--had gotten the call to rendezvous with a handful of other Coruscanti Resistance members and Rebel Alliance sponsors around the consignment and novelties stretch of Tin Can Alley in lower CoCo Town, where they would formulate a quick plan of action for getting to the smuggler vessel and extracting its payload of medicines and weapons without getting caught. Of course, the real trouble always happened on the return trip.

One of the Alliance contacts Tanie was to meet with was a familiar face. She had met the young soldier known as [member="stardust"] after barely escaping the chaos of Bloody Zhellday. It would be nice to work with the twi'lek again, and Tanie was especially enthusiastic at the potential opportunity to learn more about the galaxy abroad from someone who had not been stuck on this city world all their life. There was so much to learn. And so many more Sith to be killed.

There was a corner by Whistler's Wares that housed a small weapons stash, and it was in front of this store that Tanie made her appearance, half a cigarette snugly inserted into the corner of her mouth. She blew a heavy puff of smoke with contempt as a squad of Sith patrolmen pattered past her and continued down the street, mostly bored but undoubtedly hoping they could strike it big with a discovery of the very Resistance types like this girl should the golden opportunity present itself blatantly to their sheep minds. "I'm right here," she laughed, offering an exaggerated wave. Of course, they had no idea she was addressing them within the crowds of shoppers and urchins.

The silver-blonde checked the time. Stardust should be 'coincidentally' making her way over here in short order. Then it was time to get this show on the road.

Job paid well then the job was good, however sometimes money didn't quite help and she was changing from her mercenary attitude to a more friendly attitude.... Of course credits still on her mind which who didn't

The super soldier was tall thankfully the populace was teeming with same height and even taller beings... Otherwise she'd look to much out of place. She carried a bag with her that kept her sabers and guns though it would look like a regular purse

She came upon the shop and smiled seeing a lady outside who her HUD identified as [member="Vosstanie Pozhaluysta"] , thank god for the czar upgrades

She walked over and stood by her watching a patrol go by"pfft cat calling sith eh? Heh I would've never guess"age said joking as she looked down "so what's the plan for today ma'am" she said looking around

Her comrade was not long in arriving, as expected. However, she was certainly tall in comparison to the human. Good thing all sorts of people resided on such a massively populous planet. Stardust would blend in just as much as anyone else would. "Nice purse," Tanie commented, quite aware of what was most likely in that bag.

She motioned for the fellow soldier to follow her and sank back into the narrow alley dividing Whistler's Wares from Shadow Knows Jewelry. "I've still got to go get my armor and weapon, so let's get out of sight." Tanie made way towards the big trash bins and clambered in one, where she hopped out of her pants and took off her cloak in order to strap on some light armor. Then she redressed to cover up her blast protection and took hold of an SXB-1 Scrubber and strapped it underneath the flap of her outer cloak.

After this ordeal was over, the blonde came back out of the dumpster and prepared to give the plan details. "We have a Corellian-model freighter full of bacta and cardinam canisters upstairs. We only have until tomorrow morning before the pilot has to scram, so we need to get everything packed up and safely stashed tonight. The Sith are on alert right now, though. So we're going to have to be extra careful about pulling this one." The teen raked her fingers through her hair for a moment, not sure if she was sounding like a savvy fighter or just a talking head right now.

Thanks got it from a shop on the upper levels "she said patting it with a wink and smile

She followed the human into the alley looking around to make sure no one saw or followed them" right you do that and I'll cover"she said taking a dc-17 side arm one the clone commandos used in battle the one that never ran out. She heard the blond moving around in the dumpster and could only guess she was changing

After a few minutes when the blond came back out a man with a package came into the alley way

Miss star I presume?

Ahh yes is the present safe for the party

The man smiled and sat it down"all ready to be delivered

OK good now go

The man left blending in

Couldn't where my armor and look normal so I had it delivered by someone I know"she said opening it to revealing medium combat armof"haha sweet"she started putting it on and took a ribe throwing it over her"

She then started listening to [member="Vosstanie Pozhaluysta"] nodding to her words"so a retrieve and hide mission huh? Heh shouldn't be to hard so long no patrols run into us.. Then again they wouldn't last long

Mel had a good nest. Between her position, and the reflection off a skyscraper across the way, she could watch the patrols and traffic for 4 different ways. She didn't have Nola this time, just the scopes to watch the street level from her small enclosure. From above, it looked like a rooftop garden with a small tool shed. Most of the time, it would pass muster for that. Unless of course, Mel needed a perch on a safe house. She had a few of these little greenspaces around rebel safehouses. They were nondescript and all the rage with the recent push for more nature on the ecumenopolis.

She watched Spirit Fire and Sock Puppet disappear into the alley right after a patrol passed. Mel noted the time and started a timer clock. The next patrol was supposed to be due within the next 20 minutes. Tonight there were 3 crews in the district (Alpha, Bravo and Charlie) and Mel was watching their routes, making sure the entrances to where the freighter was parked were above suspicion to the security details.

"Alpha clear, Bravo due in 19 mikes."

She licked her lips and checked her scope. This was going to be a long night.

The exchange with the delivery man was unorthodox and unexpected to Tanie, but it also served for a bit of amusement. Of course, he knew what was going on, but playing it off would only make the tension building... keep building. No, Tanie wanted to have one last bit of fun before she went off on another life-risking venture. "Good game," the blonde commented with a wink and a wry grin before he turned to set out and back to whatever his normal life was. (Although his normal life could very well be a delivery dude, as far as the teen knew.)

A moment after her twi'lek buddy had gotten everything in order armor-wise, Vosstanie tuned into the comms to hear Melina announce the schedules for the patrol shifts. "Can't wait to watch some shockball, Pepper." It was time to step out in the open while the open was still open for Rebel scum.

The skirt of Tanie's cloak fluttered and bowed with each nervous stride, her destination set but her confidence not so much. Sure, she had performed some dangerous missions already, but she was still young and this sneaking around was enough to make anyone jumpy. "Just don't make any patterns, Star," she advised, though she had a feeling the more experience soldier had a good grasp of how to go about risky business 'naturally'. For now, they just needed to blend in with the crowds. The trouble would come when they reached the upper level and were more apparent to those scrutinizing the goings-on of dusk.

When you don't screw people over and go by your word they do things for you"she said as she turned having the robe over her looking like one that would just be passing through"games just starting"she said winking

She listened in with the comms keeping her helmet in her bag, she'd need it just not yet

She stepped out with [member="Vosstanie Pozhaluysta"] and kept a step behind so it would look like to pass Byers like nothing was suspicious, just two people mjnding their own business

Don't worry been through far to muh to lose composure "she said looking at her" what I need you to do is calm some, your shaking more then a person on hoth"she said with a poke and joke to lighten her up some

How's the game looking "she said to [member="Melina Tervho"]" any 'goals' yet"goals referring to passing sith patrols

"I'll buy the first round."

Once they had stepped out into the street, Mel began to scan the people in the crowd, looking for obvious signs of attention. So far, no one seemed to be looking or following them, but she felt that you could never be too careful. Stardust might be one of those forcie people but a fight could still get you dead, for all your fancy magick. Mel liked things she could touch, things that did what they were supposed to do.

She also wasn't fond of the idea that the younger members of the rebellion were the ones on the street. Tanie looked like she had seen some action here, she was a native to all this, but she wasn't a trained professional. It made Mel feel uneasy and concerned for their safety if something were to go sideways. It was one reason Mel had volunteered for this. Someone good had to watch their 6 and there was no better observer than a sniper.

"Nothing yet. Game's pretty quiet."
