During the Despot War, Je'daii master Quan-Jang created the Terenta, what would become the Terentatek when he needed to create a creature to sense explosives and it got addicted on force sensitive meat. Maybe it was Sith Alchemy he was using, I dont really know.

They have a sword, a cloak, and a desire to live simple lives. They don't care about power. They don't care about fashion. And many of them didn't even wear armor into battle. So... The demand for *magic* items just never resonated with them. And why should it? They can command ALL of the Force without it.

Sith need Alchemy because Sith need stuff. The need power, fashion, fear, immortality, minions, beasts, and a +5 Vorpal Sword of Smoldering Doom. Why? Because Sith. It's a natural fit. Sith need *things*. Because nothing ever suffices.
