"Oh well... I'm pretty sure I've lost more fights than I've won... " Braze offered. " It's not enjoyable to be certain, but nothing I've wanted to really kill over when it's been sport. "
Braze's curiosity was piqued as he listened to Leon talk about Nyriaan. He carefully poured the tea, the aroma filling the air, and handed a cup to Leon along with a small moist towelette for cleaning his hands.

"Nyriaan? I'm not very familiar with that place. It's a planet, then?" Braze asked, his tone indicating interest.

"I can imagine it must be quite overwhelming to have such a huge responsibility thrust upon you, with everyone looking to you for guidance," Braze continued. "Managing an entire world is no small feat. It must be a lot to handle."

He then paused, considering his next question, his curiosity about Nyriaan growing. "Is it a nice place? I mean, what's it like there?" Braze asked, eager to learn more about this unfamiliar planet.

Leon shrugged, "You're still young, probably used to fighting people with more experience or power than you. That can change."
Then smiled and nodded his head about the place, "It is yes. My home." he affirmed.

Then hummed again in agreement,
"It's...possible. But it's not just the work that's the problem. It's personal." he thought for a bit, leaning to one side, "Peace isn't my nature. I don't want it, and I can't stick to it. I tried for my family's sake, but it wouldn't have lasted."

Then on what it was like "To me it is. It's very difficult for ships to get in and out of, but that just means you're more likely to know everyone. Very warm. Lots of storms, but we manage. But I like the way the animals look, and the valleys and hills. And I like the people, even if they're tamer than me. It just feels...comfortable, familiar. Not everyone feels that way of course, 40 degrees Celsius is not exactly everyone's idea of pleasant. And while the communication issues our atmosphere cause means more meetings in person, it also makes some people feel isolated. But to me, everything is more personal there."

"That sounds dreadfully hot. " Braze chirped thinking that over.

Braze listened intently to Leon's reflections on his home and nature, absorbing the nuances of his words. The concept of a life so intertwined with conflict intrigued him, prompting a thoughtful question.

"What are you going to do when you can't fight anymore?" Braze asked, his voice tinged with genuine curiosity. The idea of a future where one's physical abilities waned was a reality he knew all too well, even at his young age. He understood that time eventually took its toll on everyone, leading to a point where the spirit might yearn to continue, but the body simply couldn't keep up.

Braze's eyes held a mix of concern as he continued, "I mean, everyone slows down eventually, right? There's got to be a time when the battles and the physical challenges just become too much. Have you ever thought about what life might be like then? What would you do if you couldn't rely on your strength and skill in combat?"

His question wasn't meant to challenge or provoke but came from a place of seeking understanding. Braze, still in the early stages of his journey, was trying to grasp the concept of a life beyond the immediate and physical, especially for someone whose identity seemed so closely tied to their martial prowess.

"Ha! Yeah that's what I've come to expect as a reaction. Pretty sure it's how a lot of us would have described it." he admitted about the heat of it. Then raised a brow at the question of when he couldn't fight anymore, at first, Leon took that as meaning no one would be left to fight. Or at least, no one he could justify. But then he went on and Leon hummed in understanding.

He leaned back in thought looking up at the roof,
"Die probably. Don't get me wrong, I'm good at fighting, but even as fit as I am now, there's plenty out there who could kill me. Probably mostly jedi or sith, or mandalorians. Maybe a big enough group. Realistically, I don't think I'll live long enough to really be unwell enough that I can't fight." leon explained thoughtfully, shrugging and looking apologetically at the padawan, "Sorry if that seems dreary to you. But a life without excitement isn't one I feel like living. And the only way I could get the same is if I put allies lives at stake as a commander, and I'm not going to do that."

He grinned and raised a glass, "Maybe I'll beat you into joining the force too."

Braze listened intently to Leon's candid reflection on his future, his expression of concern. After a moment of thoughtful silence.

"I understand the thrill of excitement and the importance of living a life that feels thilling yet meaningful. It's just... it's a bit hard to imagine that the only path forward is one that might lead to such an early end. There's so much more to life than just fighting, even for a warrior."

Braze's tone was gentle, not wanting to dismiss Leon's feelings but rather to offer a different perspective.

"Maybe there's a way to find excitement and fulfillment without always being in the thick of battle. You could mentor others, share your experiences, or even explore new challenges like tournament sparring for prizes. Then you get to brag about how good you are with fancy titles and trophies."

He thought about what else Leon had to say. "A few different people seem to have expressed desire in having me on their side as it were... I'm not really sure how to feel about it all. I spent a lot of my life feeling like no one wanted me and now its like every one wants me for something... It's a little surreal.. but I kinda just want to do what I feel is right in the moment ya know? Live my own life. I don't like being beholden to others."

Leon laughed slightly at the first statement about there being more to life then fighting, though he didn't do so in a mocking manner. Just a bit humorous, or perhaps too self aware, or not self aware enough manner. But he'd begin to shake his head as Braze continued, "It's not about bragging, nor achievements, if I wanted all that I'd join the Mandalorians. Or find out if the scorekeeper takes humans. But no, I barely reserve myself to bawls or sparring like here. And you must understand, these are the gentle conditions in which I fight. Murder I avoid, but a real fight, one where you truly learn and feel it, means there's a risk of death and killing. What we did here was like having a cup of tea or coffee to hold oneself over until a meal."

He shrugged shaking his head again, before considering the next thing Braze spoke of. His own circumstances, and offers to have him join others. He nodded, "Of course, especially when young, the want to be free to choose tends to feel especially important. Now, not that you should be taking advice from a man like me, but I'll give it anyway. And you can let your force meditation or something sort out the reason or falsity of it. Though some of it is certainly my fathers reasoning. If you choose a side, don't give it up easily. And if you do, don't do it like a traitor. Abandon it, but do it formally. And be very careful who you turn to after that, because those that accept traitors unquestioningly, might be ones themselves. But for choosing no side, breezing from moment to moment, you get the advantage of choosing a situation. But perhaps never changing a whole. It's certainly more freeing, and easier to keep a clean conscience. But it's harder to make a difference any bigger than a town, or a city, or certainly a world. Just something to think about, for me, I choose more freedom. But I did it because I'm the one who would cause problems. Not telling you which to choose but maybe it helps a little with the decision making."

Leon's words had left a lasting impression on Braze, and he found himself in a contemplative silence for a while. The gentle sway of the treehouse and the soft rustling of leaves in the Lothal breeze created a peaceful atmosphere, allowing his thoughts to wander. When he finally spoke, his voice was thoughtful and measured.
"You offer good counsel and wisdom to consider," Braze began, a hint of gratitude in his tone. "I think that helps." He nodded, acknowledging the value of their conversation.

Then, Braze's curiosity got the better of him, and he turned the conversation back to Leon. "Do you... know why you feel so strongly drawn to such aggression or battle? Why it feels like a need for you?" he asked, his turquoise eyes filled with genuine curiosity.

Braze wanted to understand more about the underlying motivations that had led Leon down his chosen path. He knew that people often had deeply personal reasons for their beliefs and actions, and he was eager to gain insight into Leon's. That inquisitive edge certainly showed Braze's age and showed how still full of child-ish curiosity he really was.

Leon smiled and nodded his head glad to know his lengthy response had been of some use to the padawan. It was a small thing to help people but he did like when it worked out. Though he certainly didn't explore it all that thoroughly he still enjoyed the moments.

He hummed in response at the followup question forrowing his brea and leaning back a bit, not bothered by the question but genuinely trying to reword the answer he was about to give. He already had had the general belief for awhile, but he didn't always turn that belief into words. Besides, many would claim he should see those things as seperate, but to him, they were part of him already, "I'm not as trained in the force as you are no doubt. But I do have one skill I've always had, I know it's called psychometry." he began, "To see or feel things in the past by touching them, I had a half sister. Before I was ever born, on my moms said in her and her husbands ship at the time. Her name was Salis, she had red hair." he tugged on the dyed hair he had himself.

"And her presence was in the entire ship, every item I touched, ever implement, it was a thing filled with her memories or thoughts or feelings. And to her, almost all of it, was just made up of weapons. Places she'd killed or thought of killing, or an item she thought of or had used to do it with. However much I like violence, she loved it more." he pulled out a string of hair looking it over as he talked thinking, "It left an imprint on me, one no amount of training or psychologists can do anything about to remove. Only to restrict and control. I'm grateful they did too, if they hadn't. I wouldn't be here. Maybe I'd be off with the sith, seeking out the same dark destruction my older sister did. Or maybe I'd have gotten myself killed as a young boy. Mom said I may have gotten her taste for blood, but I didn't get her talent for it. You and I, we fight like martial artists. She just....kills or disrupts. It doesn't matter how, it just matters what happens."

He spun the hair in his fingers shaking his head but smiling, "I guess sometimes I think of myself is a younger version of her. One that got the parents that could handle it. Rather than those who didn't know what to do when their kid started acting like a little blood-gremlin."

Braze's voice carried a lightness, tinged with genuine gratitude. "Well, I believe that's a good thing. I definitely prefer you just as you are," he said cheerfully. His expression softened, reflecting his appreciation. "And truly, thank you for giving me this opportunity to learn from you. It's not every day that one gets to gain such insight." His words were imbued with sincerity.

Leon chuckled, "Appreciate it." he answered holding up his glass again to him. Then nodding to what was said next, "Well then I'm glad to have been of some assistance. You never know what people may need, a little spar and advice"
Not a normal thing for him to solve. But he wasn't going to argue about it either. If his words helped a padawan make his decisions, or deal with the ones he'd made, that counted as a win to him. Even if it wasn't one in combat.
