Lightsaber Resistant Swag

Do you think lightsaber resistant items should be more regulated?

That is a good question. I believe you may be able to get away with using it, as it is a canon item, but I could be mistaken. (On the other hand, I went and had to dev it up for my Lignan crystal, which is a canon saber crystal, and you need to dev for rare materials such as Cortosis and Phrik already, so my assumption could be completely wrong.)

Basically, if no one reports you or calls you out on it, you're good up and until they do.

Mandalorians are an exception, as they own the only places where Beskar are mined and it says in the Restricted Materials list that such makes us exempt. Even then, the nicer stuff still usually gets or are requested dev threads.

i would think that if you're a Imperial Knight, with the Imperials, be it Galactic Empire, or the new Remnant...it should be allowed. It seems Mandos have that nice privilege. But if you read about the Imperials...they owned about most of the Cortosis mines in the galaxy

This may be true, but it matters what the faction owns at the moment, a galactic map shows this.

Sure, but at the time...when the GE had them...was it okay for them to do what the Mandos can do still? I dont remember it being like that when the GE was still here.

Im pretty sure as long as the faction owned a planet with the material, it was ok. [member="CC-1693"]

fair enough, but it still remains unseen...does a Imperial Knight need to do something special when using Imperial Knight Armor?

It is various for the factions, I have a storm-trooper in the imperial remnant, and It requires that you gain the title of knighthood first, initiates cant have the armor. [member="CC-1693"]

Mandalorians are the same with Beskar'gam as well.

PC mandalorians can actually have beskar armor :3 , regardless of rank. This makes sense since its apart of the culture in my opinion , anyone else want to talk about this?

Hmm, I read differently and was told differently, both by Factory staff and Mandalorian staff, but meh.

PS: Nugget get Aliit'gam, which is like junior beskar'gam in a sense.

Yeah, and what about the FU's with all of the above? :|
Simple. If It bothers you, if you don't agree with their style or think they have made themselves invincible, or if you don't want to try and challenge yourself as a writer and try to best them... Avoid them!

At the end of the day, their are plenty of people on his board to rp with, many of which (myself included) whom rely on their wits and quick feet as their best defense, not the armour/tech they wield. Factory creations, tech, armour, etc are supposed to be fun additions to the board that enhance people's experience. They are not a crutch, an equalizer, or a swing point in a battle.

This is a role playing board, not a dps contingent game. Having the best armour, with the highest dps and crit chance means nothing in pvp.

Patches guide to fighting a force user:

Step 1. Run

Step 2. If step one failed, try again.

Step 3. If step one and two failed, repeat steps one thru two.

Step 4. "Ummmm... Little help, Ti'Cira?"

Step 5. If steps one thru four fail... Beg for your life.

Patches guide to fighting a non force user.

Step 1. See Patches guide to fighting a force user.

All joking aside, their is always a counter. Fling said target against a wall, throw a boulder on them. Use one of the three hundred and seven force skills most force users seem to have. If all else fails... Run!

I don't think the non force users are looking for a competitive advantage. They are just trying to come up with a feasible way to not be saber fodder for lightsaber wielding do goodness and evil spreaders! Think of the armour not as an advantage, but a "safety net" so that should they slip, be caught out of place, or be on the losing end, they don't loose a limb or their life... They just wake up with broken ribs and possibly a separated shoulder.
I can't believe it took me this long to read this!!

Ha! Some good it does! I was calling for your help 4 days ago! If this hadn't been a test, I would have been sliced and diced into patches sushi long before you would have shown up!

Suffice to say... You failed the test, and I will have to amend my guide now. :p

Q: How do I mitigate damage during a post?
A: Armor, shielding, environment, NPCs, the Force, accuracy, weird-science, creativity, and luck. Doesn't matter if it's a lightsaber, a disruptor beam, a hellfire guided missile, or an orbital bombardment. Be creative. That's how you survive.

*Also: The only reason certain materials are ever restricted is because people misunderstand this very simple principle and abuse them dramatically.
