I'm looking for ideas. New lightsaber ideas.
Anything that isn't one of the following:
Lightsaber
Saberstaff
Saberpike
Short Saber/Shoto
Lightsaber Nunchucks
Sabertonfa/Guard Shoto
Three-Sectioned Staff Saber
Crossguard Saber


'Cause I'm seriously having a hard time thinking f anything else that you could make into a lightsaber. I'd rather avoid weapons without a blade, like clubs, hammers, etc. And axes are disqualified too

I was thinking something along the lines of a long-sword. Tachi-length. Or zanbatou (that's really long, if you know Sanosuke from Rurouni Kenshin / Samurai X (RK's title in the West) then you'd have a general idea of the zanbatou.

A Force Crystal inside a Force Construct emitting a Containment Field which houses Plasma. Well. If that's your definition of a lightsaber, (And it just might be?,) ...Then you can do literally anything with it. Just mold the Containment Field into any shape(s) your heart desires, fill that with Plasma from a Force Construct, and POOF!

Personally I think Mass Effect did it best with their Holographic Weapons and Armor. Suspended or Layered Mass Effect Fields housing hostile Void Energy that was unleashed upon anything that passed it's Holographic barrier. In the case of weapons: The Omni-Tool Blade. (Unicorn Lightsaber) In the case of armor: Holographic Overshields. (Unicorn Lightsaber)

Well my one jedi master has an interlocking disc saber blade. Think Xena balanced chakram meets lightsaber throwing star. Activates when thrown splitting into two sides.
