Liquid Deception (Archangel)

[member="Amara Zarides"]

Enyo looked rather dubious, not believing Amara's claim for a moment. However, pain was something the girl would have to learn how to deal with. It was an important lesson. "I'll look at it when we're on the Lightbringer," she said curtly.

The sound of explosions and gunfire was growing. Perhaps the rebels had found a way inside. Either way, it was time to leave now that they'd gotten what they'd come for. So Enyo gave Vess a nod. Removing an explosive charge from her backpack, she placed it beneath a computer console and set a timer. Anyone who burst into the command room after they departed, no matter whether rebel or Sith loyalist, would get blown up and be unable to recover the data for themselves. "Let's go. amara, grab a breath mask." Down the elevator they would go to reach the water intake valve.

Amara had a rebreather in her pack. It’d give her the ten minutes of air she’d need as they passed through.
As the elevator descended the explosive went off above. Debris from above fell into the shaft as they hurried out.

Vess led them resolutely onward. Sith ran hither and thither but paid them no mind, so keep to escape were they.

Finally, they reached a water reservoir. “Access is at the bottom of the tank. The pipes lead out into the stream. We will have to go into the water and swim down. If we open the valve now when we reach the other end opening the inlet would flush us back into here. Are your lightsabres waterproof?”

Boom. There was a loud explosion. Screams were heard, debris rained down into the shaft. The trio of Archangel operatives hurried out and made their way towards the water reservoir without pause. They encountered Sith, but the base's guards were more focused on saving their own skin.

Finally they reached their destination. "Yes, they've got bifurcating cyclical ignition pulses," Enyo responded. Yes, she actually said that. She was a rather formal person, unlike her older sister. Anyhow, thanks to the special modification, the lightsabres were water proof and would not short out whilst submerged underwater.

So the clone equipped her rebreather. Then she made sure that Amara had done the same and that it had been put on properly, so that there was no risk of it falling off. Then she made her way into the water tank and dove.

Despite the drama of the situation, Amara couldn’t help but pout. “Hey, it’s my job to technobabble. How would you like it if I was the broody one?”

Their further debates would have to wait because Vess pushed them in and jumped in after them.

It seemed like the liquid metal had its uses even underwater, allowing her to form a stingray shape and glide to the bottom and into the valve then help the two apprentices in.

They reached the valve, and their lightsabres made swift work of the durasteel. Soon they were pushing out into the outside lake. Amara surfaced with a gasp. The water was cold, but they were out of the facility….

Amara, I love you, but now is not the time for your silly jokes, Enyo thought to herself. It was absolutely untrue that she was broody. That was a term you used for emo teenagers who bit their lips and stared at the stars.

No, she was serious, focused and committed. These were all appropriate adjectives. Anyow, Enyo's righteous indignation was cut short because Vess pushed them into the water reservoir before the sisters could argue like, well, sisters do. After dealing with the valve, they were pushed into the cold stream.

Enyo arose from the water with a gasp when she surfaced. She was shivering and it was bitter cold, but they were out. "Come on. The ship's close," she urged Amara, swimming to the surface. Needless to say her clothes were absolutely soaked.

And so they were soon out and away. The cold water made Amara shiver but she pressed on until they reached the ship and began their ascent.
However the war between Sith and rebel ended Amara did not know, but it was pretty clear said rebels would be pretty cross with ‘Siobhan’ for betraying them.

As they entered hyperspace Amara lay on a bench so her back could be tended to. It hurt, but was now merely a throbbing ache and would be swiftly improved by the application of salve.

“So, what was your analysis of the liquid metal, Vess?”

The droid considered. “It could use some refinements, but overall was effective.”

Amara glanced at Enyo. “If this doesn’t work out the three of us could become an impressions comedy trio!”
Presumably she wouldn’t get many laughs, but that never stopped her trying!

And so the Archangel trio had left war-torn Balmorra behind it after killing plenty of people and fanning the flames of hatred against Siobhan Kerrigan. Job well done? Well, from a certain point of view. Anyhow, aboard the Lightbringer, Amara and Enyo were being seen to.

Unsurprisingly, Enyo thoroughly failed at being funny. She was hardly a bag of laughs. "Ami, I don't think we would be good at impersonations. Not unless I take off my clothes in public and leer at young women and pretend to be my mirror," she commented primly, as the ship passed through the vast tunnel of hyperspace.
