- Production: Minor
- Material:
- The fluid is made of chemicals that counteract the chemicals used to power Ion drives and engines as well as fusial thrusters.
- The encasing container is made of durasteel.
- The fluids that contains the chemicals that counteract those of the fuel/power source contained in Ion drives and engines as well as fusial thrusters comes in containers made of durasteel.
- Containers arrive in 1 , 5, 20, and 100 liter containers:
- 1 liter container is good for private/small personal vehicles.
- 5 liter container is good for small ships, up to 50 meters in length.
- 20 liter container is good for medium sized ships.
- 100 liter containers can be used for big ships.
- More than one container at a time may be used.
- Pouring the Liquid Ion Sugar into the fuel tank of a ship or vehicle that runs on Ion drives/thrusters or fusial thrusters is may cause anything between temporary malfunction to out right engine combustion, depending on how much was poured and how many attempts were made to ignite the engine while the Liquid Ion Sugar was in them.
- A good enough mechanic (or team of mechanics, droids included) can fix the damage caused to engines by the Liquid Ion Sugar.
- Liquid is sensitive to heat and is highly flammable.
- Lack of proper care for the containers may cause containers to combust.
When Scherezade deWinter , owner of Whimsy, was told she couldn't pour popcorn kernels, sugar, or water, into shipyard fuel and expect it to do anything, she pouted.
After that, she set to work that lovely destructive mind of hers, and came up with basic blueprints for chemicals that would counteract against the chemicals used to power Ion engines and drives. However, the cost of production for such fuel was extremely high, more than her company Whimsy could spend on for R&D.
Taking her idea to the Confederacy of Independent Systems, where she served since the day she came out of her pebble, she made them an offer; financial investment for the R&D in return for two years of exclusivity followed by ten years of 35% of all profits made by selling the product.
With the investment in place, Scherezade gathered a team of mostly new and hungry scientists, a small amount of experienced team leaders, hired laboratory space within the Science Building on Geonosis, and set to work. Shortly after that, the Liquid Ion Sugar was created, a liquid that contained the chemicals needed to counteract the chemicals used in ships with Ion engines and drives as well as fusial thrusters.
To use the liquid, it must be poured directly into the fuel tank of a private vehicle or ship, and it can potentially do any sort of damage, from malfunction to combustion of the engines.
After Liquid Ion Sugar proved to be a success, the Confederacy of Independent Systems' Ministry of Science decided to give Scherezade deWinter and Whimsy an R&D grant. A new building was erected next to the Ministry, and all Scherezade and Whimsy's non-glitter projects were moved there under the title of Project Manghild.
Later, when Scherezade deWinter left the Confederacy, she took her items from Project Manghild with her, terminating the contract one sided. The numbers were pretty clear; while the invention had been a success and its application incredible, there were no purchases actually made within the Confederacy of the Liquid Ion Sugar. A forwarding address had been left behind in the event that they should wish to contact her regarding it. Thus, none had.
With her change of place in the galaxy, Scherezade granted the Agents of Chaos open access to the Liquid Ion Sugar, and gave a little extra push towards selling it to external sources as well, all while her team set to work on the next generation of the idea, making sure to create something bigger and badder.
