[Scarlet Faith]

Scarlet walked through the forests of Endor, a smile on her face. She once lived there, and had been to the planet once more since, when she had met a little cat-girl. Though they had been chased down by soldiers, they escaped just fine. Currently, she was heading to her old home. She was sure that it had been overrun by plants and fungus by now, but it would be nice to see it again nevertheless. Casually making her way to the old residence in the trees, the young girl took some time to admire the surroundings. It was a beautiful planet, after all.

The little Ewok sat on a fallen tree deep in the forest, growling happily to himself as he concentrated on a small twig in front of him. He had managed to levitate it twice so far and was determined to do it a third time. Suddenly, he heard the sound of something moving through the forest. Abandoning the twig, Raky grabbed the small bow that lay beside him and he jumped down off the tree, landing in some leaves. He made his way towards the sound and carefully put an arrow into his bow before jumping out onto the path. Drawing back the string on his bow threateningly, Raky gazed up at the girl and growled a warning in his own language: "Krr gee!"

Scarlet was just turning to head into her old home when a little furry animal jumped down with a bow. An Ewok! Instantly, her face brightened with a grin. Getting down on her knees, she cooed softl at it. "Well aren't you just the cutest thing!" She saw the now and raised her hands to show he meant no threat. "Don't worry, I won't hurt you. Promise."

Raky tilted his head slightly and slowly shuffled closer to the human, lowering his bow. Curiously, he reached out a paw and poked her arm gently, making a little noise of surprise as he confirmed the stranger was real. Raky slowly wandered in a circle around her, constantly poking her with his soft paw and occasionally making odd noises to himself as he examined his latest discovery. No one back at the village would have ever seen anything like this, Raky thought. He had found something completely new! He snuffled happily and looked up at the human's eyes and growled curiously: "Krre Endor peenoo?" At the same time the strange words came out of his mouth, Raky opened his mind and transmitted his thoughts telepathically, hoping the human would hear them and understand him. 'What doing on Endor?'

Scarlet's eyes widened in surprise as she heard the words go off in her head. That was definitely a first. "Well I'm Scarlet, I was just visiting for a few days. You see, I used to live right up there for a while." She pointed up to a medium sized dwelling nestled in the trees. "I love Endor... It's so beautiful here."

Raky turned slightly to see where she was pointing and nodded his head slowly as he saw the dwelling before turning back to face her. He raised a paw and gently pressed her arm again, cooing softly: "Scar...let..." His big black eyes gleamed as he poked her arm once more, before pointing to himself. "Raky."

Giggling softly, Scarlet smiled at the small ewok. "Nice to meet you, Raky. One question though, how do you know how to speak basic? Well, think in basic anyway."

Raky thought for a moment, scratching his nose softly. Finally he looked at Scarlet and mumbled an answer: "Ta nica eer kri... Sree ne ni tathree..." There was a small pause as he looked at her before remembering that she wouldn't have understood him. 'Raky not know how. Raky is different. Raky special.'

"Yes you are! You're a very special Ewok, Raky." She smiled softly at the furball. She thought for a moment, then opened her arms wide. "Could I... Hug you? I've never had a chance to cuddle something as adorable as you."

The tiny Ewok looked up at her, scratching his ear as he thought about it, unsure whether to feel pleased or offended that she found him adorable. He eventually reached a decision and waddled forwards into her arms, making quiet happy purring noises as he tried to wrap his little arms around her.

Scarlet smiled softly as the bundle of fur hugged her back. He was so soft, she found era elf gently stroking his fur for a few seconds before pulling away. "You're a cuddly little thing! I just wanna hug you all day! Maybe-" She was cut off by the distant sound of speeders. The girl sighed, annoyed. "Ugh, not this again. Hey Raky, you know how to use that now of yours? I hope so, you're gonna need it." She pulled her scythe out, for the moment keeping it folded up into it's shotgun form, and waited for the approaching speeder.

Raky squeaked in alarm as he heard the speeders and quickly shuffled back to his bow. He grabbed the weapon and aimed the arrow in the direction of the noise of the speeder. Looking at you, he growled softly and urgently: "Tani a kee itu! Raky na simi!" ('Bad noise coming! Raky destroy it!') The Ewok began trotting off towards the noise, snuffling to himself.

Although Scarlet admired the Ewok's bravery, she couldn't let him get in harm's way. Unfurling her scythe to full size, she ran in front of Raky to stop him. "Raky, go up into the trees, you'll be of better use there. I'll handle things on the ground."

Raky gazed up at Scarlet, making small grumbling noises to show he wasn't pleased with the order. Despite his unhappiness, he turned and trotted over to a tall tree. Throwing his bow up onto a branch, Raky began scrambling up the tree, mumbling unhappily to himself. Finally, he reached a large branch and sat with his back against the tree and sorted out his bow, aiming it at the approaching speeder.

Hearing the low grumbling, Scarlet frowned slightly. "I'm sorry little guy, I don't want you to get hurt." Not a second later did not one, but two speeders rush into the clearing. Jumping off were two mercenaries, one seeming to be the leader. "Well well, well, what do we have here? A cute little girly with a scythe. We could use someone of your..." He walked up and cupped her cheek softly. "...Expertise." Grinning, the man chuckled at her. He thought she was a joke. Big mistake. Flashing a grin of her own, she slashed at the man, which he dodged quickly. "Now Raky!"

Raky let out a small war-cry as he drew back the string of his bow and fired the arrow at the mercenaries. The arrow hit the second mercenary in the shoulder and the Ewok squeaked triumphantly, standing up on his branch and resting one paw against the tree trunk to keep him steady. "Raky na simi! Ni Ewok meeki!"

Scarlet smirked as she heard the tiny voice in the trees. "Looks like I have friends in high places, loser!" Charging the first man, she shot a round from her scythe to boost herself, then knocked him clean in the temple. He was out cold. By this time, the other had tried to run away, which she wouldn't let happen. Smirking, she picked up a medium sized rock and chucked it at his head. Bullseye. "They're both sleeping now, you can come down!", she called to her friend.

The Ewok looked down at the ground below him and nodded to himself as he saw the two mercenaries lying there unconscious. Raky slipped his bow over his shoulder and scrambled down the tree, wrapping his arms around the trunk and gradually sliding down. When he was a few inches above the ground he let go of the tree and jumped down, trotting over to you. "Mi caani opi Raky ibee. Nukali!" ('Raky help defeat enemy. Raky good warrior!')

Scarlet giggled and ruffled the fur on his head. "Yes you are! Raky is the best warrior on Endor!" She couldn't help but want to cuddle and pet the little ball of fur, as he was just so adorable. Smiling, she picked him up and set him on he shoulder.

Raky purred happily to himself as he was set on the girl's shoulder and looked around. He was unused to being up this high - unless he was climbing a tree - and he wanted to make the most of it. Snuffling excitedly, he waved his paws and mumbled quietly: "Humi eek gree..." ('Humans have good view of world...')
