Little Sister

Listening to what the man said, Ailuros nodded about the clan size and markings. When he mentioned the armor wouldn't be as good as real Mandalorian armor, she was fine with that. It was going to be miserable for her to wear it, but was something she needed to do.

"Oh I don't need armor for protection. Just my fast reflexes are enough, but if I get exposed, I will do as you say."

In armor, nobody would know what she was, so to have to hide wouldn't be an issue.

“Excellent. Before you make your selection, you will be given an briefing. So before we continue to do you any questions regarding the logistics end of things?” Now that the agent was about to be deployed the alien seemed to perk up at the idea of the having a more active role in Raven operations, athough he did not seem to indicate to [member="Ailuros"] how the briefing was going to commence.

"I thought that is what a briefing did...Unless things have changed or are different."

When having done missions before there had been briefings before and after. One would say what the objective was and who would be doing what and the one after would report on the success or failure.

"No other questions I can think of though."

“Good, have a seat [member="Ailuros"], the master will be advising you shortly.” The alien takes a small metal device that appeared to be a simple silver ring around a flat opal disc from a container hidden in one of drawers before licking the surface with ita tongue and placing it on its forehead.

The creature twitched for several minutes, its eyes rolled back to the top of its head as its head shook back and forth, before hunching over. When he rose, it spoke in the voice of Daxton Bane, as the possession spell was now in effect.

“I apologize for the lack of my physical presence to sent you off, there are too many eyes watching and I cannot afford to put you in any unnecessary danger. This spell would allow me to temporary take over his body and when I am done he will awake with no memory of what we discussed but with a rather painful headache. Fear not, he will be compensated for his trouble and I trust no one save yourself with what I am about to tell you.”

“I have commuted with the Force and a possible nexus point of potential lies in a young mandalor by the name Targus Manch. Why he was targeted or what possible effect he would have in unclear to me. I will need you to gather information on the subject without him becoming aware of my interest nor his possible potential. He is to be kept in the dark at all times and protected for now. I am sending you in to assess him, his allies amd possibly his potential among the Mandalorians. Develop him as an asset but never reveal your true nature. A possible pawn that can prove to useful in the future. Do you understand what I need you do to, my dear?”

The cat sat pretty impassively while the fellow alien twitched in front of her. A twitch of her ears or tip of her tail was the only sign she was interested in what was going on. When Daxton spoke to her, her ears tipped forward and whiskers perked up at hearing his voice. Listening to what he said, Ailuros wasn't sure if he would see her nod so spoke.

"Yes, master, I understand. I need to become friends with him or something along those lines. Right? To gain his trust and get him to speak to me and not make any information known to him about you."

She thought she could perform this mission and learn something more to send back to her people.

“To be honest @Ailuros. I know it will no easy task and I personally loathe to risk one of my most promising students if the potential for reward was not as equally great. The Mandalorians will play a key role innthe future of galactic politics, more than they will ever realize. We need to be ahead of the curve to nudge them in right direction. Your job is to embed your persona among them, earn their trust and be my guiding hand in helping them reach their full potential.”

“They may be a surly, insular lot but even barbarians have potential promise in the overall scheme of things.”

"Wouldn't be the first time a people have been considered or called barbarians."

Ailuros felt she was ready for this mission. It would certainly be interesting and she looked forward to the challenge in front of her.

"I promise I won't fail."

The tip of her tail wagged slightly and now she wanted to go look at the armor that would fit her. As long as she could wear her belt with it, she would be fine.

“I know you won’t my dear, for the Force has much plans with you. Watch your back out there.” Almost everyone who knew of Daxton considered him to be a cold calculating bastard, that was because he kept his cards close, rarely showing weakness or emotion except with those in his very close inner circle. The last reminder was like that, familial concern of a master about to let his student walk on his own for the first time. After all he could not be here to hold her hand all the time, it was about time to see how she could handle things on her own.

The possessed alien slowly stood up, slightly woobling before standing straight and moving to a wall of the left side of the room. One could notice that animal stride in his step, like a predator on the hunt that wasn’t present before he took over the body. Sliding up a false panel, he typed in a short code and then shortly after a section of wall slid back to reveal three full suits of armor for her selection. Unlike the normal heavy plates of standard battle armor, the selection was for recon unit, designed for rapid light weight movement and stealth. It would be an adequate selection to start with and she could always augment it later during the trip. Stepping back, Daxton allowed [member="Ailuros"] to make her choices.

Happy when he shared her confidence in knowing she wasn't going to fail, her ears tipped forward at his tone. Daxton had been a great master and taught her many things. In fighting and the Force. Now he was giving her an opportunity to display what she had learned. Maybe it was like her first solo flight, hopefully it wouldn't turn out poorly like that one had.

Watching as Daxton was the puppeteer of the alien, Ailuros followed him with her eyes as he moved across the room. The walk familiar from Daxton made her smile. He was a predator and she was too. Maybe not so great as him, but still somebody to be feared in a fight.

When he stepped aside to allow her a view of the armor and weapons, she stood up and moved over to him. Peering into the area where the sets were, the cat appeared a little confused. Not having been one to ever wear head to toe armor, she had no idea what was needed. Shaking her head slightly, her ears tilted outward and she looked at her master for help.

"I don't like any of them, but the one in the middle is the best of the bunch."

[member="Daxton Bane"]

“Again my dear, I so apologize for the request, as I know you loathe having to do so. But I would be remiss as your Master, if I do not provide you [member="Ailuros"] with the best possible means to accomplish your mission. Do not understimate the Mandalorians, there is a very good reason why they are an effective fighting force against our kind.” Daxton’s alien body paused to let the message sink in. “Well if they were so easy to manipulate then they would hardly worth the bother. Once you don the pieces you need, you can leave the room. All your papers for your mission are in a sealed security box just outside the door and its bio scanner is keyed in to your unique signature.”

"I know that master. Whatever is needed I will do though."

She had been in battle before and that was against the Jedi. After destroying some shield they had, their forces were sent after her small team. Luckily she had been able to gather them all up and escape was made. The cat was never going to forget that day or underestimate anybody. When he made the observation the Mandalorians were effective in fighting against Force users, she nodded.

"I understand."

Gathering up the items, she started putting them on. The only item she had a difficult time with was her helmet.

[member="Daxton Bane"]

When she appeared to be having difficulty, Daxton’s alien hands reached out and cupped her chin. “Relax [member="Ailuros"], you aren’t waging war with it.” He reassured her a calm manner as he loosen the chin strap and slowly carressed her ears until they slowly relaxed. When her ears weren’t so tense, the helmet slid over her rather easily. Adjusting the strap to be more comfortable, he said, “This helmet was a built in HUD that will allow you a 360 degree view of your surroundings, there is a built in stress analyzer as well a micro diagnosics suite. It comes with the standard calendar, log books and chronometer. The special augmentation in its design is like a parabolic mic, if activated, you can listen in on conversations up to 30 meters away. Just be forewarned when this augent is on, you will vulnerable to sonic based attacks. So try to avoid loud areas or explosions if possible.”

Gratefully accepting the help offered by Daxton and her contact, she couldn't help but smile a little at his words. It felt like she was waging war with the helmet, but his touch did help her. He adjusted the strap and explained some of the things it could do for her and she nodded.

"So many things! Maybe I'll end up liking it and want to keep it. I understand and will remember that if I need to use it. Do you think I will?"

[member="Daxton Bane"]

“I believe in preparing for the worst, my dear @Ailuros. That way I am never caught unprepared. Better to have it and not need it than need it but not have it, yes?” Putting his hand under her chin, he slowly lifted her face so she would looking into his borrowed eyes, “As long as you come back to me safe, that is all that matters, understood?”

Nodding her head after he spoke, there wasn't too much more for her to say. Only what came to her mind in the first place.

"Yes, Master! What could...never mind, I don't think I want to know."

Turning to leave, Ailuros hoped the alien would be fine like Daxton promised he would be.

The alien stood shock still until she left room, part of Daxton wanted to call her back, to keep her safe and protected from the cruel reality of the universe. But the Zabrak had a much deeper responsibility, one that even he could not turn his back up. So he kept his silence until she was gone and for up to a good half hour he remained standing before his spirit withdrew from the host body.

It shuddered and spasmed as his controlling spirit left, allowing the original owner to regain control. As a parting gift, he advised the alien that his time on this backwater world had come to an end and to settle his affairs and a large research grant and facilities were waiting for him at his next assignment, a sweet balm to soften the bitter experience of his rather complete and utter takeover of the hosts body.
