Model: LongArm Salvage and Repair Cruiser

Description: Slow, unwieldy, lightly armed, and having no supporting fighter craft or hanger bay at all, the LongArm class salvage and repair cruiser is Rendili Stardrive's new angle on the market. Creating a vessel meant, not for war, but to repair the damages done by it, the LongArm Cruiser design is constructed with thick Durasteel and titanium plating, to the point the vessel, despite having a lack of weaponry and hanger, is quite slow. This is because like other recent Rendili Stardrive's designs, the ship's durability and survivability as a non-combat vessel takes precedence to protect its purpose and crew.

Put together to more effectively and efficiently salvage the remains after a battle to put the remains of damaged and destroyed vessels to use, or to act during a battle to save allied ships before they become such shells themselves, the LongArm class pulls the hull of other starships between its arms (or mandibles) and whereupon robotic clamps move into position to secure the smaller vessel to allow droid and organic teams of crewmen to begin work on damaged systems to at very least enable the damaged ship to flee the battlefield or reach a nearby system with more intensive shipyard facilities. The LongArm class can also carry another ship up to 700 meters through hyperspace though at a much slower rate than normal. Much of the cargo space of the LongArm class is thus understandably set aside for a variety of material and parts to repair damaged vessels, or retrieve the still functioning sections of a damaged ship to repurpose them later.
