Chaos burned, the world crashing and collapsing as the woman's mind moved inwardly, taking on the full power of the Phobis device. Spencer had learned to master the weapon that she had taken into her mind. Ashin always been with her, helping guide her and provide her with the strength she needed to combat the terror that filled her subconscious. She was only eighteen when she had saved the forces of Good and Evil from the terrors of the Dread Lords, their voices melding into her own.
Never before had she unleashed the dormant beast within her. She had always gone through extra precautions to keep the weapon hidden away, giving up pieces of her mind to create a mindscape for the device to be locked away. Spencer found herself engulfed in flames, her feet rising above the ground as she was suspended above the tendrils of the chaotic Netherworld as they whipped around threatening to grasp the pair and drag them to the hell that awaited them.
Amber orbs opened, seeing the memories that Taeli experienced within the mindscape of the Phobis Device. A grin swept across her face as she tried to fuel it, making them her reality. In the second memory, one of Tali's parents made the Echani demon pause for a moment. Humanity silently returned to her as she listened to the words. She watched the woman's memory flood her mind; being the powerful empath, she was helpless in this experience. The pain Taeli felt surged through her as memories of her own father, resurfaced.
He turned her away, wanting nothing to do with her and her lover. Spencer remembered growing up, wishing, and wanting to know who the man was. She dreamed of him coming home and being this perfect being of ivory hair, kind eyes - he would be her papa, one that she didn't have to share with her other siblings. Her childish dreams began to play in her mind, a small blonde girl hidden away in the Jedi archives sleeping while clutching a book. The book held information of a Jedi who had belonged to the Republic, her fingers covering the face of an Echani man, Kamon Vondiranach, the letters scrawled. It was the only thing she had of him beyond her mother's stories. They weren't enough, she wanted her papa.
The look of the older Echani man's face, the way he stared at his daughter in disgust over her choice of partner, destroyed her. Ashin was one of the only people that looked at her and saw something more. Spencer wasn't hiding behind her twin brother Aston anymore when Ashin took her from the Jedi. Knowing her father, her papa disapproved and shunned her created a void in the woman's heart—one that only grew into an intense hatred for him and anyone linked to him. A part of that hate - hated herself as well being his child.
"No, you're not doing this to me." Spencer regained control of her emotions, but it was then she felt the tendrils of the power the other mentalist had. A mixture of seven voices laughed as Taeli's outburst saved her from the falling attack. The Darkside flowed through her, and the demonic voices continued to laugh as she reached through the Force. Spencer felt the woman's entity in her mind, she was surprised that her defenses had been breached. No one in this galaxy was strong enough to break through her barriers, yet Taeli Raaf had entered her mind. The woman grabbed ahold of the tendril that Taeli reached in to rip out the Phobis Device with. I don't think so, Mrs. Raaf.
The hellish Netherworld disappeared, and Taeli would find herself in another place and another time. Spencer would stand near her, yet she was obviously far younger than the woman she was currently fighting. The bubbly teenager that was Spencer Jacobs smiled at Taeli; the memory was aware of what was happening, which only nodded to the power of the Echani's mentalism. The teenager held out her hand to Taeli, waving her along. "I want to show you something." They continued down the hallway of a ship towards a room where a large sphere was housed. A woman, battle-worn but exuding Darkside's power, waited for the girl as she entered the room. A smile cracked on the stoic face of Ashin Varanin as Spencer ran towards her lover. Arms wrapped around her slender and youthful frame, and the Empress of the Empire took her and kissed her passionately. The moment was brief, but the kindness that was shared from the Empress was a rare sight - one that only the young blonde was able to see and experience. "Are you ready?" Spencer nodded as she climbed into the sphere, "I am." She began to plug herself into the nodes and sighed heavily. Apparently, she didn't like the sphere and looked towards her lover, and the woman nodded, closing the sphere encasing the girl inside.
Inside, Spencer was able to reach out with her mentalism and battle meditate. With the increased power from the sphere, she would be able to touch everyone in the Sith Fleet and those of the enemy. Every mind connected to one girl during the battle against the terrors of the Netherworld. Everything was going according to plan, the girl battle meditation inspiring the forces of the Empire and attacked the fighting spirit of the Republic.
It was then dread covered the battlefield, voices echoed, and Ashin announced the Phobis Device's appearance. She commanded Spencer to disconnect to shield her mind from the dreadful creation. On the other hand, Spencer had learned about the phobis device, studied it, and knew the devastating power that it would have on the fleets and everyone involved in the fight. Her mind thought quickly to Ashin, knowing that this was the only way she could protect the woman.
Spencer NO SPENCER STOP!
Her presence suddenly grew; mental shields surrounded every mind on the battlefield, leaving her mind exposed. At that moment, screams of terror echoed from the sphere. Blood-curdling horror screams echoed as the phobis device's brunt entered the girl's mind threatening to break it into a thousand pieces. The dread lords spoke to her, cursing her, telling her of the horrible things the sithspawn would do to her, how they would do it and how it would feel. It felt as if the nightmares would never end, but silence came only after the girl had lost her voice. The battle continued and concluded, "Spencer!" Ashin's voice echoed as she entered the room, fear dripped from her voice as she spoke the girl's name. A rare sound for the Conquerer of Ten Thousand Worlds. Ashin came running down and with the Force ripped open the pod. Spencer sat in the fetal position, curled up in the lowest corner of the sphere. Whimpers came from the small shaking form, and Ashin scooped her up and did her best to comfort the girl. It was then the lovely blue eyes she had faded, replaced with the amber burn of Sith Corruption.
The world faded, and Taeli found herself standing in the middle of a pure white plane. Spencer's teenage self, the one she had seen at the beginning of the memory, stood before her.
"No one ever knew what happened that day. Not a soul knew of the Phobis Device. Some tried to tell the story, but it was so unbelievable that no one sought to investigate. The Jedi denied it, the Sith denied it - everyone pretended as nothing happened." She opened her hand, and in it, a small Holocron with elegant etching rested. "As you know, the Phobis Device was the creation of the Dread Lords, the one that is locked away in my mind is one of their strongest. I commend you on trying to pull it from my mind - but with how embedded it is, I can't let you. This is my duty my destiny as the Chosen One. My sacrifice saved millions of lives. I've accepted this fate" Tears seemed to collect in her vibrate sapphire eyes, a child with no childhood growing up to be a woman who only knew one regret.
Her smile faded as she walked over to Taeli with the Holocron in her hand. "Take this, it's one of my designs - you can only access it if you know the whole story of how it came to be. I'm the holocron's guardian, so only you, Taeli Raaf, may ever view this. Inside the Holocron, you'll find almost an entire exact copy of my device. Please study it, learn about it, and never use it against humanity no matter how terrible your enemies are. I am unable to do so, my one failing I cannot correct. If you discover a way to eradicate it - please help me, save me." The girl tossed the Holocron towards the woman and waved.
The plane disappeared, and Taeli would find herself in the middle of the lilac flower field with the real Spencer sitting beside her. The illusions fade, and the former Queen of Eshan holds out a bag of candies for the Sith woman. "I had fun, we should do this again sometime." She nudged the chocolates towards the woman, her child-like behavior now making sense. "Chocolate?" As she asked, her eyes looked up the battle continuing to wage,
"Mm, if you ever need anything - please don't hesitate. I find you quite interesting Taeli, I hope to see great things from you."
