More seriously maybe start a romantic plot interest, either frame it as tragedy or liberation of a world, make it epic then you are more than likely going to get someone interested at least for that one plot. Then you are being specific about the type of character, and maybe someone has a female character to fit, see if the two characters gel well or write well together and then go from there.
