Good morning/evening/afternoon!

I was a member of the Commonwealth Marine Corps, before it fizzled out of existence like a wet firecracker. You could call it the Commonwealth Marine Corpse if you wanted to I guess. Wow, that was a bad joke. I digress.

On this board I've only ever been a part of the Commonwealth, but I do have significant experience writing military roleplay going back 10 years. Before then I did smuggler/mercenary RP, but not for terribly long. I'd like to continue forward with this character, but transfer him over to another command/faction/group, but I don't really know what's out there.

Basic info is that the character was a Marine with several years experience (Staff Sergeant) in the infantry. He's good natured, competent, proficient with combat squad leadership, would be able to supply his own equipment and armor from the now defunct Marine Corps (ballistic armor, slug thrower assault rifle and pistol, etc.), or could be retrained to be proficient with blasters and other equipment to serve with another military.

Notable personality quirk is that the Commonwealth was rather xenophobic when it came to force users, which my character here was not above. That pretty much rules out any force related factions.

If you know anything that might fit, lemme know! I'm ready to get back in the ring.

I might still be regarded as new here but i think your character would do well in any faction that isn't greatly dependent on force users like the Commoner, the Galactic Alliance or the First Order, tats just my opinion though.

First Order's got a number of military branches if you're up for joining them. Despite the Knights of Ren, most of the grunt work is carried out by NFU troopers and spooks. The Ren are mainly a covert operations unit, which act as an elite task force, so they're hidden mostly from view. But I digress, here's a little bit about our branches of the military.

First Imperial Stormtrooper Corps: The best of the best reside here, the First Imperial Stormtrooper Corps sits as the offensive arm of the First Order. Roles within here can stem from invading and occupying newly annexed territories, all the way to garrisoning star destroyers, and naval facilities. The Stormtrooper Corps sit as the most (in)famous part of the army, and feature heavily in propaganda, and are always an active presence.

First Order Security Bureau: If you're up for a change in pace, and want to play things a little stealthier, the FOSB may be for you. Despite them mostly acting as an intelligence organisation, they control a sizeable force within their own right. If you wanted to be a grunt there, you'd be running everything from Black Ops missions, all the way to bodyguard work on both civilian and military VIP's. These guys are encompassed by the Death Trooper and Shadowtrooper units, whom are the best of the best.

Planetary Defence Force: The PDF act in a more garrison role of the First Order. They act as a National Guard and the like, and work to keep the peace, and police civilians, as well as protecting them in the case of war, or natural disaster. They're like the Stormtrooper Corps, and you'll probably see more of them. Also they use this aesthetic.

The Auxiliary: These guys are the lowest of the low, and are basically used as bodies to be thrown at the enemy to try and keep the casualties of other branches low. These guys are made up of those of loosest allegiance, criminals and alien types who are unsuitable for service in the other branches. These guys aren't supplied by the First Order, and are expected to provide their own equipment and all of that.

Not a bad suggestion by any stretch. Plus there's a precedent for it given that the FO and CW were tentative allies for a while. Y'all even helped us fight off a pretty tense rebellion for a while before our entire command structure collapsed afterward. Not gonna lie, I had the chills when the Star Destroyer jumped in and pulled our asses out of the fire. I may well drop in the discord and do some info farming when I get off of work. Thanks for the suggestion.
