Looking to meet my first Sith

[member="Darren Shaw"]

I take great pride in all those who have studied under me. They have mostly gone on to achieve great things, even those who didn't blazed a path though the Galaxy like a rampaging comet hell bent on chaos. The deeds ripple for generations, don't you agree?

Oh yes. Quite so. Morna went on to train [member="Lexa Imura"] and they later got married. Discovered he had a lost brother, [member="Nickolas Imura"], and became (from many accounts of others) one of the, if not the, most powerful Pyrokinesis user, and Shaper of Kro Var on the board/Galaxy. If you want, I can give you his bio so you can see what came of him.

♪♫ You've never met a Sith like me. ♪♫
I can promise an interaction of mystery, and confusion. While I can't guarantee your inherent safety, getting a glimpse at some very philosophical content of the Galaxy might just broaden the horizons of your young Jedi in training.

What do you wish to do once you've met this Sith you plan to meet? If you are looking for a master, then I suppose I'm far too busy for that, but if you're looking for something a bit more substantial, and less impersonal, then you can look toward me for something more in-depth than a simple Master-Apprentice-not-be-killed-and-replaced relationship. If there is to be two extremes of dark side corruption, one would be [member="Darth Vornskr"]'s impressive physical state, and the other would be my corrupted mental state. I have been stalking observing the posts of the Apprentices and Padawans on the site recently, and I believe you would truly benefit as a character, and as a Jedi (If that is what you wish to end up as), if you meet Silara/Sinna rather than a majority of the other Sith. While the others offer a grand appearance of power and the physical woes of dark side corruption, Silara is the "face" of the dark side. She is a pretty face, but beneath that thin veneer of beauty is a corrupted mind that throws her into the extremes, and even her decisions - though objective over subjective - are towards an extreme end-goal that perhaps she herself is not fully aware of what repercussions they could provide. Her own goals aside, she is a very lasting example of what could be provided as a competent foil to a Jedi and drive them further, through ironic conclusions drawn from both of our actions, to their end-goals. Whether that may be toward the light, being repulsed by her insanity, or to the dark by being seduced by both her beauty and prodigy. While it is your choice to make, I more than welcome you to either PM me or find a group of people you would like to confront/meet me with. In fact, I would be more than happy if I met you when I go to see my sister. I think you two would be good together.

Isn't that right, [member="Maja Vern"]?
(Oh, and you can ignore everything said above this beside that last sentence, sis. You don't need to hear about that until you see me. <3)

Edit: To clarify, I believe I've gotten over whatever sickness I had for the past few days and found enough time outside of work to make posts, so once I shut down a few of the threads I am in [Any thread from prior to October 15th will be canceled, for anyone who sees this] I will be very free for posts.

To echo Silara's Darth Sinna's words - and I'll start with a general statement - there's a lot to be said for having a Sith nemesis that's more powerful than you.

Too many Sith (sorry to upset anyone who is reading this and fits the profile*) are Chaotic Evil. And what I mean by that is they feel they have to kill everything that moves or kick every dog they walk past. It is such a pastiche of cardboard villains (not a parody as I believe many that write these characters think they're being really good Sith). Every time a Jedi posts, their immediate reactions are to reply 1) I'm more powerful than you and 2) I'm going to kill you and 3) I'm going to turn you into a Sith (but not always in that order!).

Find a nemesis that is more than one-dimensional (and here is the shameless plug for my big sister). They can shape you not necessarily through combat but through challenging your behaviours and assumptions. They can torment you into becoming a better Jedi (and yes, not every relationship has to end in you becoming a Sith or them becoming a Jedi). Having studied Anakin/Vader and Darth Bane** you will see that Sith are more often rounded characters. Commonly their goal is peace (just on their terms) and in Darth Bane you'd see a Master that was in many ways like a Jedi in his philosophy.

I'm rambling now...but what I'm saying is that you should choose wisely and for the long-term and I know who I'd choose (but you could accuse me of bias). But there's a reason I chose Silara to be my sister and she allowed me to be hers.

And the winner is...?

* actually not sorry - you are so predictable
** this came across a lot deeper than I expected when I set out to write a character reference!

All good stuff and I my opening post for his thread has the disclaimer it does.

What am I looking for in meeting a Sith for the first time....

1. Potentially someone who could be a nemesis, while JJ is currently 14 the plan is to jump him 18, 19ish likely in the near furture after getting into some typical teenager trouble

2. JJ is currently sheltered as far as the way the galaxy really works. It is time for that to change. The assumption is that he has been on missions, but the assumption is also those missions have been relatively safe ones not involving any Sith.

3. I am looking primarily for someone that is basically on par with JJ... meaning if it were to develop into a rivalry it would exhibit what a typical rivalry does... I win some, I lose some, but same goes for the rival. This means we may even bruise each other up, but no permanent damage on my end as I just have done too much of that with JJ's dad on another board.

4. A challenge or adventure would also be fun. Sorry Bane your types of challenges are not what I'm looking for after reading some of your posts

5. I am not looking to turn Sith, so this person also will have the distinct pleasure of helping to reinforce this decision in JJ's mind. If that means I should be looking for a long term rival, then I guess we can open this thread for that... do me a favor though... keep in ming JJ is currently 14 if you are serious about applying.

heh. I can do that with an Alt of mine. [member="Nickolas Imura"], or Darren. Either might work. However, Nick will be the more likely one because of his age.

[member="Judah Lesan Jr."]

I mean, if you really want a rivalry, you can have any of my characters.... Most of 'em would probably see JJ as a bit of a brat.... But my most detailed Dark characters are definitely Bond and Zothan. Evard, Zatten, or Morrigan would probably work, too, though.

Or even Malachite, if you want to develop with a totally new character... I'm game for that.

(Note: Zatten and Morrigan are just Dark Jedi, not actual Sith)
