Looking to the Future

All of these suggestions! dang! well I would say that we find places that are close to the Trade routes. From there we can work on getting other stuff faster. We can trade, and it brings in more money for us.
 
My Suggestion:
  • Voss: Self explanatory. We've been pretty well established here and it's an excellent capital planet.

  • Raxus Secundus/Prime/II: Doesn't matter which one we go with, the whole system gets added to our influence cloud. From a naval prespective, Prime is a gold mine. The reason being, we can perform mining operations in order to dig out whatever canon ships we darn well please and can refit them to form our navy. Secundus and II are excellent worlds as well. With a little elbow grease, one of them can be turned into a fortress world and a center for fleet operations. Remember, the old CIS picked these worlds as a capital for a reason. They've got exceptional value.

  • Lianna: Two reasons. One, it's the closest we're going to get to a trade route, as the planets on that Lane are all Republic space. That said, it's a rather renowned world for commerce and is only a hair's breath away from the Lane. Plenty of commerce to be had. Two, it's a starship construction world. Speaking again from a military/naval stand point, it'd make sense to put an orbital shipyard around Lianna. Now, because I love you guys to death, I'll gladly use my own company to do this. Fact is, either we'd need to submit a shipyard/vehicle company or find a decent one in canon that's not taken. I'm volunteering to make that a touch easier and will gladly make the ships/vehicles for us.

My suggestions and reasoning:
  • Voss: Like Var said, excellent capital. We're established here and could do even more with a few threads should we choose to expand upon it. Purpose Suggestion: Capital, can be built upon.
  • Raxus System: A very, very, very good choice. On my other account (Darth Arcis), I even wanted this planet under my control when the Sith Empire was still a thing and I was just a little Sith Admiral. It's very lucrative. Raxus Prime offers a wide wealth of resources and adventure, not to mention that we can delve down and scrounge up some canon ships or turn the place into a factory world. Raxus Secundus is another amazing benefit of this grab. It used to be the capital of the CIS (canon) for a brief period of time and political renown is a major benefit. Purpose Suggestions: Defense Headquarters (Secundus), Factory World/Shipyards (Prime)
  • Makam Te: An unrecognizable planet to most, but it's a seemingly valuable one. With a large population (2 billion), a major export factor of ore and spice, and a placing on the Perlemian Trade Route. That being said, this is an extremely beneficial starting planet for our upstarting economy. Not only is it located on a trade route with a large workforce, but the value of the primary export (spice) is really high, which means even more money for us. It's got ore and natural resources too, which will be essential in starting a government and ensuring the common defense of our territories. Purpose Suggestions: Resource supplier
Just my suggestions. If we think we've made a wrong choice after officially establishing, development threads are always an option. We can erect some factories, stimulate the economy, and invest in trading and whatnot.

Yes, Put a price on it, and sell it in doses. Small doses. ANd allow only a small amount to people at a time so we can limit it to the public.

if you put a tax on it, we get more money coming in.

That's actually not a bad idea. If the Order restricts the stronger, dangerous kind, we can still sell it and make money whilst not looking like total criminals! :p Just kidding. But a restriction on the stronger stuff, plus a tax on the legal kind is sure to bring in profit. Considering how spice is such an addicting and valuable resource, being would kill for it. The mere fact that we would choose to legalize some of it would send swarms of businesses and investors our way.

If there's ever a problem with black market activities, just keep in mind that it is Jedi territory. Peacekeepers are like, elite police.
 
If you want more money, then when people try to bring in their own spice, reguarless of what it is, then we can put a tax on that for saying that they are carrying a "Deadly" or Addictive material. But determining on how much the dose is for the spice, can determine how much we tax them.

In america (for those of you who don't know) The stronger Cigarettes cost more because they have more nicotine in them. While the lower doses cost less. THis is where I am getting my idea from.

We could do it like America does: leave it to the state governments. In our case, that'd be planetary governments. Washington and (insert other state name here, forgot) have legalized marijuana. Not like every piece of legislation has to take effect in the whole nation, but it still can benefit us.
 
More so, it would be the planets Government. Because as Jedi, we need to keep our Name clean. More so, I would say that we keep a Watchful eye over the planets that we have our cloud over, but that the planets govern themselfes (with a little push from us here and there) so the Jedi keep their Name clean, and if people are called out, it would be against the government that has been put into place.
