I just realized something. Ashin asked Asemir to bring Reyven to heel, not to necessarily obliterate him. Oops. Again.

With Reyvan, you only have two options for bringing him to heel: smack the snot out of him, so he realises what he's up against, or kill him, so he can't step out of line.

No, that's why he's making his bid for power. Nevermind what he'd actually use it for, were he ever to obtain it, but if he'd ever been brought to heel before now, it clearly didn't take. That's now your job, Asemir.

That is not a mistake on your part. I left that entirely open to interpretation. Naturally, a lot of how this goes depends on Reyven.

Asemir should have tried to offer a peaceful solution. Like cookies. Homemade, almond-flavored cookies. To mask the taste of cyanide.

Reyvan's not the type to accept peace. He didn't walk into the throne room looking for a peaceful solution to who will sit upon it. Why would he expect a response that's peaceful in turn?

Because cookies are being offered? Everyone loves cookies.

I'm not overly partial to the cyanide-laced ones myself, however. Now if you offered them to Voracitos, he'd just eat them and say "interesting additives". And still be fine the next day.

Perhaps I will offer him some, next time I see him. If I offer him enough, he'll surely die of diabetes-related symptoms, right?

If that guy had Diabetes, he'd have eaten himself into a coma years ago. We're way past that point, believe me.
