Lost and Alone (Vulpesen)

How had this happened? All Leyan could remember was looking for water after she exited the spaceport. She went up to a machine filled with drinks, choosing what she thought was water. But she hadn't known it would be so sweet. And now, here she was, coming to in a part of the city she didn't recognize.
She was sitting against a building as her eyes fluttered open. She raised her head slightly, confused, and then suddenly frightened. Where was she? How did she get here? Oh no, she was lost! This was bad. Very, very bad!

Vulpesen's fingers laced behind him and his arms straightened while he bent forward, stretching his arms out a bit as he walked. It was a faily good day, nothing really happening until he felt a rather panicked mind kicking up around the corner. Never one to let such things go unnoticed, he made a quick turn to find [member="Leyan Viceritas"], wide-eyed and obviously distress. "Is something wrong miss?"

[member="Leyan Viceritas"]

Leyan jumped, startled by a man coming up to her. She was unsure if she should trust him. She was unsure if she should trust anyone. Trembling, she looked up at him and shook her head a little.
"N-no... I-I don't know where I am...."
Her tiny voice squeaked fearfully. She looked truly pitiful.

Vulpesen stayed where he was, noticing how jittery she was, no need giving her any further panic attacks before hearing her story. Once he had been told however, he let out a soft sigh. "No? I'd think yes. Being in a place like this and no idea where you are isn't good at all." Slowly, he walked forward and offered a hand, trying to keep the gesture as gentle as possible despite the claw like nails of his species. "I'm Vulpesen Torrevaso. Its kinda my job to help people."

[member="Leyan Viceritas"]

Leyan looked down at Vulpesen's hand. The nails were very sharp. He must not be everything he seemed. But, he was offering her aid as gently as ever. Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to trust him. She slowly reached out and took his hand, still a bit uneasy.
"T-thank you.... My name is Leyan."
[member="Vulpesen"]

Pulling her up with a smile, he flicked his tail behind him, happy with the progress. "Well miss Lyeyan what do you last remember? One good way to find where you are is to find where you've been." As he spoke, he felt his pocket shift while Ace's head popped out, the small wolf's glowing blue head and green eyes turning to look at the green haired girl.

((OOC: You never said Ace was little! Awwwwww! :D))
The small dog in Vulpesen's pocket grabbed Leyan's attention almost immediately. She'd always loved animals, even if they seemed afraid of her. She looked down at the small thing, giving it the tiniest of smiles as she responded.
"I came here on a transport. I remember walking to a machine that dispenses drinks. I wanted water, but I don't think that's what it gave me. It was too sweet. I blacked out.... And I woke up here."
She looked up at him before adding,
"Is... Is it alright if I ask his name?"
She pointed to the little dog.
[member="Vulpesen"]

He thought for a moment. Normally, he'd suspect a spiked drink, but considering she got it from a machine, such was unlikely. "Anything that might ahve adverse effects on y-" He found himself interrupted as she cooed over Ace who then looked up at him. He didn't blame her at all, suchw as common when people first met Ace. With a nod to the wolf, the Ashlan then leaped from the pocket to [member="Leyan Viceritas"]' hand. "His name is Ace."

"Ace..."
Leyan repeated softly. She gently scratched the small dog's head before returning to the main subject of how she ended up here.
"Well, you see, I have a certain condition when it comes to sugary drinks. It makes me very woozy in some cases. I think that I might have consumed too much in this instance. It would explain why I blacked out. But... Not how I ended up here."
[member="Vulpesen"]

Vulpesen nodded in understanding. Certainly, he'd heard of stranger things. Though, he had to devote some effort of his attention to blocking out the residual pleasure he was getting from Ace who was whuffling in it from the scratches behind his ears. "Are you likely to pass out in that black out state, or enter something more akin to a drunken state?"

[member="Leyan Viceritas"]

Leyan thought for a moment. She'd never been drunk before. She didn't know what happened to people when they got drunk. Crovhana didn't have very many drunks, and even if they did she'd never seen them.
"Maybe... I'm not really sure. I've never been drunk before...."
She stopped scratching Ace's ears and instead began to gently pet his back and his head.
[member="Vulpesen"]

"Ok, then lets just assume you were in a drunken stupor for now, unless you'd like to go to a hostpital and take the time and tests to find out exactly what happened." He watched as Ace rolled over in her hand, obviously loving the attention. "What were you doing here?"

[member="Leyan Viceritas"]

"I was..... escaping."
Leyan didn't think it would be appropriate for her to tell someone she'd just met about how she was the runaway queen/princess of Retalik and that the king was no doubt sending people after her to bring her back. She didn't want to think about that. She wanted to forget Retalik entirely. Everything in her life there was destroyed and replaced with anguish.
She lightly tapped Ace's nose before holding him back out to Vulpesen.
"Thank you for letting me pet him. He's very sweet."
[member="Vulpesen"]

Vulpesen's brow rose towards her and he felt the weight on his shoulder as Ace leaped over to him. "Well, if someone's looking for you, its probably a good idea to get off the street. I'm sure there's plenty of places around here that are low on inhabitants. So whenever you're ready, we should probably be heading off."

[member="Leyan Viceritas"]

Leyan nodded. She didn't want to be around here any longer than she had to be. But... Where was here? She still wasn't really sure what part of the city she was in. Which meant she had no idea where she should go. She looked around worriedly, as if there would be something she recognized from before.
"Can... Can I come with you? I-I don't really know where else to go..."
She knew it was extremely intrusive to ask Vulpesen this. But she didn't know what else to do, and it wasn't like she had very many friends these days.
[member="Vulpesen"]

He nodded and started down the street, his tail flicking behind him in a beckoning movement. "Of course, I wouldn't want to just leave you here. I've a ship in a nearby spaceport if you want to talk there." Ace traveled down into his coat and curled up in his pocket. "As for where you need to be going, we can figure that out once we're safe from where you've been."

[member="Leyan Viceritas"]

Leyan quietly followed behind Vulpesen. She hadn't noticed his tail until they started moving. It was a strange and wonderful sight. She was glad that he had found her instead of someone else. Maybe now she would be able to think more about what her future might hold.
As they continued walking, a shadow caught Leyan's eye. Her eyes darted to an alleyway near them. It was only for an instant, but she swore she could see a figure standing there. Watching her...
She walked a bit faster, keeping as close to Vulpesen as she could. Her eyes began glancing in every direction. There might be more of them.
[member="Vulpesen"]

Vulpesen remained fairly silent as Leyan hurried to his side, though a simply look into the force revealed her increased nervousness. While she already seemed jittery enough so that it could be nothing, he still extended himself tot he surrounding area, hoping to find out whether or not there was something that might have its attention focused on either him, or her. "If trouble comes and I say to close your eyes, don't question it. Also, don't be worried if you hear any sort of animistic sounds."

[member="Leyan Viceritas"]

Leyan nodded, though she wasn't quite sure what Vulpesen was referring to. As they rounded a corner, she found herself suddenly gripping his wrist in fear. Four men in dark clothing stood in front of them, blocking their path. As she frantically looked behind them for a way to escape, she noticed four more walking up behind them. They formed a circle around the two. Leyan knew what was happening. Toreyl had sent these men for her. They were going to take her back to Crovhana and make it to where she could never run again. Leyan began to tremble as the men started closing the distance between them.
[member="Vulpesen"]

Vulpesen's topped dead in his tracks as he noticed the men, sensing the four behind him as well. Wordlessly, he directed Ace to leap to [member="Leyan Viceritas"]' shoulder where he let out a small growl. Not even bothering to reach for his saber, hebrought his focus to the pendant hanging around his neck. "Close your eyes." His voice was calm and confident as he looked who seemed to be the leader of these men dead in the eyes. "And you, I suggest you get gone."
