Lost hope

(I am looking to be recruited into a faction, for the most part anything aligned with the light will do but ideologically Belizarius would be more inclined to join the Resistance or even the Republic Remanent. The GA is fine but ideologically he doesn't like their non-democratic nature and he views the Silver Jedi as symbolizing the main problem with the modern Jedi which is how fractured they are. Not to say he couldn't join them is properly convinced)

Jabiim

Belizarius had arrived on Jabiim after hearing rumors of slavers operating in this sector, he had spent the last two months tracking down leads and slowly making his way towards his intended target. Apparently a group of around 14 slavers had arrived recently and they were making quite a reputation for themselves on this far off world. This was practically his life ever since his master died. Too afraid to go towards the the borders of larger factions in the galaxy going to these small backwaters meant far less risk of him causing more harm than good. This town had definitely seen better days and looks like the galaxy had been cruel to the planets fortunes. There just wasn't the money or the strength for worlds like this to keep fighting against every pirate that wanted a easy target.

He found himself talking to quite a distraught family, refugees that were living in small metals shelters just outside of town. A man, a woman and their young child were all sitting inside.

"So these raiders attacked your convoy?" Belizarius asked, it was pretty common for these types to attack the most vulnerable on these worlds and in the end not even the limited government authority wasn't exactly waiting to take care of the refugees which had already stretched their resources too thinly. Better to just ignore the attacks and hopefully you might even get the refugees to move onto somewhere else.

The woman was sobbing "they came out of nowhere and started blasting us, out of one-hundred only twenty managed to survive to reach here. They would of killed the rest if they... if they" the husband finished "If they had the space to carry off the rest"

He sighed at this, it was pretty common these days to be honest. "Do you have any idea what direction they headed off in after the attack? even a rough guess would really help" they seemed to be concentrated as they tried to remember, eventually the woman went "They went east, there's not much out in that direction though it's the first thing we were told by the warden of this camp"

Belizarius knew this was most likely not true, back a few hundred years ago this planet was littered with Mine Fortresses as the planet tried to resist the original Galactic Empire. The main reason raiders loved coming to this planet is that it was so easy to hide on. Such a sparsely populated world covered in well fortified tunnels. They might not be in the best shape now but for a group of 14 hiding out in these things would lead to a pretty easy lifestyle, as they simply stole the resources they needed to survive and sold the refugees they collected to the multiple criminal operations in this area of space.

Three days later
It took awhile for Belizarius to finally reach where the attack took place and it was a bloodbath with decaying bodies littering the ground, scorch marks covering the transports that were attempting to carry these people to safety. He took out a pair of binoculars and looks towards the east where he noticed some rock formations, it was close... too close to possibly act as a proper hiding spot but then again on this world what did they have to hide from? Jabiim was extremely slow to recover from the decimation of Darth Vader and the Galactic Empire.

As he approached the formation, he saw a man come out. At first he didn't make much of it until his instincts told him immediately to move aside. He found a blaster round just passing him by as he quickly moved to the right. "Alright!" he shouted "You have one chance to surrender yourself to the authorities before I have to use force to bring your ragtag group in" The man was not that far away from him now and Belizarius used the force to grab one of his thermal detonators and hold it next to his face. When the man noticed this he was in shock and dropped his weapon.

"Are your friends in that mine?" He could now see the main seemed to come out of a hatch, this was definitely not the main entrance which was most likely better guarded but simply a old emergency exit. They probably had some sensors at the wreckage which detected his arrival and this guy was sent in order to check out who was stupid enough to return to the scene of such an attack.

"Please, Jedi. Don't hurt me!" the man shouted, Belizarius hogtied the man using some rope that he was carrying. He wouldn't call the authorities until he had made sure the majority of the threat was dealt with. As he opened the hatch and dropped down for the first time he ignited his lightsaber it just to have a little light in this dark part of the mine, the tunnel in his immediate area had a yellow glow as he noticed the control panel that obvious was connected to the hatch but....

He immediately went to work seeing what systems were still active, the mine was actually amazingly intact meaning that at some point recently some group of miners had probably come back and install this since it's extremely unlikely all this equipment had remained fine for all these centuries. He noticed a camera feed that he could gain access to by hacking into the main terminal, it was at this time he noticed about 10 of the slavers seemed to be eating in a old cafeteria. Using the controls he managed to lock the doors sending them all into a frenzy but those doors were designed to resist cave-ins meaning it was extremely unlikely they'd managed to get out.

Belizarius chuckled to himself in amusement but at the same time out of boredom. He heard footsteps come down the tunnel as the few remaining raiders closed on his location, he saw them raise their blasters and he was quick to start deflecting with his lightsaber. He ran towards them deflecting everything that he could before he started swiping at them, he managed to cut the hand off the first and duck under them to throw them over the top of his body. At this time he stab the second in the knee as he was still crouched as he started to raise himself back up he sliced through the blaster rifle of the last raider and force pushed him hard into a nearby wall.

It sounds more amazing than it really was, any Jedi could do this easily... especially with such inept criminals like these. Since the ones in the cafeteria were already unarmed it was easy to keep them at bay as he chucked the rest of them in there ready to be collected. As he left the hatch it was the first time he took in the miserable sight around him, for a brief moment he let how his life was turning out into is thoughts.

Was this what he wanted? No, but he had proven himself useless in any real fight. He got his Master killed with his incompetence so how was he expecting to be any good to anybody else? Was it cowardice also? did his fight with the Sith Marauder simply scare him to the point that he uses his Masters death as an excuse to not have to risk anything? if that's the case then he's truly pathetic.

His skills are wasted tackling these sort of scum but at the same time, he doesn't feel like he has the skill to do what he knows is expected of most other Jedi. A large chunk of him died when his Master was killed and choosing this sort of lifestyle was practically killing what is left.

Meanwhile. Just above...

Jabiim was located G-South of Ossus. A muddy no-where world of rain, fog, and atmospheric electrical storms. All summer and roses, no, this was not. A brown planet located right smack dab on the Mara Corridor. Just before you got to the nicer resort locations of the Tion Cluster too. And, bleh, why anybody came to this useless mud pit of a world, Karen Roberts of Denon certainly did not know. Hmph.

Garbbed in her fuzzy black HD coat, the blue-haired woman stood peering down into an emergency exit hatch. A hidden getaway located near a very soggy rock formation and a rather disastrous ambush site too. Mmm. The exact last location she would ever have expected to find a Jedi Knight. ...Probably.

"Well. His tracks do lead straight here, I suppose?" She frowned, "Good grief. Why can't it ever be nice places, hm? I just washed this outfit. Blegh."

She tugged on her dark hood and removed her perfectly shadowed helm. Sighing now at the smell of this place as it hit her bare nostrils. Bleh was right. Naboo lake country this was not. Mmm. She decided it best to wait for him to come out anyway. Her new boots where muddy enough without adding cave diving to today's list of inconveniences. Besides? I'm sure [member="Belizarius Krusi"] would be along shortly. Well... Hopefully anyway. Poor Karen was getting tired of this planet already. Le sigh.

Her arms stretched out looking over the planet, one of the good things about spending years setting up monitoring stations and ships was you could be alerted to where a number of things were happening. In this case she was moving quickly in the ship for now as she was going around. heading down to the planet in a run about and she stood there with her hands behind her back, hair straight and ready but confidence. Whatever was here they could handle it and better yet she knew the runabout could get out if needed as she had her chevron pad on her wrist and the display letting it follow her tracker.

You could here the slow banging of somebody coming up the hatch as Belizarius finally started climbing up the ladder. He had reported his location for somebody should soon be around to do something with these raiders. He had spent the last hour destroying what weapons could be found and locking away their loot in another chamber in the complex to make sure they couldn't get access to it. If they escaped they will be about poverty stricken as the refugees they'd been attacking but on the bright side they'd be unlikely to find a helping hand.

At this point the Jedi was completely covered in mud and grime. The rain beating down was doing very little and his blue robe wasn't exactly fairing much better either as it was covered in stains and goodness knows what else. His hair was a mess of brown and grey.... enough grey that you'd be amazed at how young this man actually was. Belizarius at this point had pretty much grown used to the smell, being absolutely covered in filth tends to assist in you getting used to these sort of things and these days he found himself pretty much constantly a mess.

It took him a second to acknowledge the woman that was standing next to him as he lifted himself out of the hatch. As he tried to hopelessly wipe at least some of the mud off his hands, it was only then that his senses came back to him and realized that maybe he should talk to the stranger.

"Ah hello? I would ask if you're from the security detachment that should be coming but I hardly doubt anybody here would be able to afford anything that you're wearing" he didn't know what to make of her arrival. He could sense the force coming from this woman pretty strongly but it didn't feel dark, so he was hoping that meant he hadn't come across a Sith. He wasn't paranoid about that subject but it was enough for him to casually move his right hand and rest it on his belt. If this went the wrong way he would have to get away... fast

"Why hello there."

The very much not-a-Sith woman smiled in a perfect Coruscanti accent. Then she gave a proper curtsy in royal Naboo fashion. Brushing away her blue hair with a smile,

"And yes, of course. I doubt the King of Kesh himself could peer to such an outfit. Hehe."

She twirled in the mud like a happy, brown, soggy flower. Snickering at her own comedy.

"And you Jedi Knight. You're looking quite... Well. Blue. Hehe."

She held her helm tight to her waist and gave a gesture towards his own garments. Smashing, as mud rallies went. He looked just right for the races. Ha.

"But enough pleasantries. Let us move on to introductions! Mm. I am Monica. A woman of the Force. And, I bring you good tiding and invitations from the Jedi Academy Network. The JAN. For short. ...Naturally."

She gave [member="Belizarius Krusi"] her courtesy name due to the awkward circumstances. Saint Monica of New Prosperity. As she was known to most foreigners and star travelers. Her given name was reserved for old friends and war buddies from the first two Sith Wars. A name she rarely used in social calls. Such as this.

"Ah. And the datacron! Of course."

She reached into her dark garments and withdrew a tiny black pyramid. A digital library card, or data stick, to be precise. Very common among computers.

"A datacron with all the information a traveling Jedi Knight needs to get in touch with the Academy. With locations and temples both physical and digital, at your command. Hehe."

Monica nodded with a smile and a wink.

"Well then. Do give us a ring sometime, oh Blue Knight of Jabiim, yes? ...I look forward to seeing you again. In less. ...Well. Soggy, circumstances. Mmm."

And then the fashionable Monica curtsied again. An invitation given. An invitation done.

Belizarius was taken aback by the nature of this Jedi, he had obviously spent far too long alone on these backwater worlds. Such a bubbly personality wasn't exactly what he was used to.

"Ah, thank you for the gift" he took the datacron and as the woman said he last words he chuckled "Yes and hopefully with far less mud" as the woman left, he looked at the datacron... it had been awhile since he was anywhere near a Jedi place of learning that a datacron was sort of a nice change.

As he looked at the growing storm, it would probably be smart for him to start making his way back to civilization and also hopefully his ship was still intact enough for him to finally clean himself for the first time in a week. He sloppily starts making his way back to the refugee camp through the thick mud which meant that it was going to take him quite a few hours to finally see some sort of living civilization again.

He hadn't heard of the Jedi Academy Network. The enclave that he was trained in was pretty remote though and secretive. It was kind of strange in many ways because now that he thinks of it.... He's never actually interacted with any Jedi from outside that enclave before. made sense really since most of the other fractured orders are busy fighting and the masters from his old Enclave were pretty disinterested in getting involved.

'Wasted opportunity maybe?' he thought to himself. He did feel a ping of excitement though at the thought of it, back when he was just a Padawan his main strength was the ability to soak in new information and a entire network of Jedi resources had just been offered up to him. Imagine what he could learn!

For the first time in a year since the death of his Master, he smiled due to being actually happy about something. He remembered the Jedi Code and if there was one that he lived by it was this...

"There is no ignorance, there is knowledge" He said quietly to himself while taking another look at the datacron, again chuckling at himself for repeating that line.
