"I don't think I want to tell you about any of that," he stated simply. "I'm not supposed to... fraternize... with... the opposition." He trailed off, watching her cautiously as he explained.

Braze shifted and keyed up his com device, speaking into it. "Hey... do you think you can come get me? I think I'm a little lost... and I've acquired... oppositional company." He said, trying to contact Jasper Kai'el Jasper Kai'el .

"So I am not to know about it then, I see... But what happens if we find whatever it is you are looking for? I would assume I will be right there, at that point it would be up to the trust you have."

It was a fair question, it wasn't like she wanted to help only to get stabbed in the back.

"Is the signal boosted enough? It might get foggy in a place such as this.."

She then inspects his sorry looking state yet again..

"Have you ate? Drank anything?"

If anything, the boy looked like a shriveled corpse.

"Not sure what would happen..." he trailed off. "I might ask you to give it to me nicely," he offered lightly, considering what his own actions might be in such a situation. He was learning that nothing was as he had imagined when he was younger. Things were far more complicated than the stories had made them seem.

"Just because you find it doesn't mean you would know what to do with it," he continued simply. "Very few know how to fly a ship when they've never even been in one," he added.

He frowned at the question, his snowy white brows furrowing as he petted the pup.

"You seem so intent on helping me... I wonder, have you ever asked for help where it truly matters most?" Braze asked. "I'm sure someone, somewhere, could help you with your problems," Braze offered lightly. "Maybe even find someone you could talk to..." He trailed off, then added softly, "You deserve to have someone care for you, just like you care for others."

"Even the strongest of us need a little help sometimes."
He offered in a soft demure tone, and resisted the urge to reach out and gently touch her, this was evident in how he raised a hand and started to reach for her hand but hesitated and pulled back pressing his wrist to his chest.

"Hey... do you think you can come get me? I think I'm a little lost... and I've acquired... oppositional company."

As Jasper glanced down at his communicator, he found himself distracted long enough for the fist of his opponent to connect with his face. The Master hissed, shouted a profanity, then proceeded to punch them right back with his prosthetic arm, knocking them out cold.

He had been busy. Perhaps taking on some old habits of his, hunting down criminals trafficking Force artifacts illegally across the galaxy. This one in particular hit close to home, kyber taken from Ilum back when it was attacked by the New Imperial Order, who had hoped to use the crystals on the planet to create a super weapon. Now there were countless still lost out in the vastness of the galaxy. It was nice to reclaim some, at least, perhaps relive the nostalgia of his youth in the process.

He didn't miss the injuries. Jasper brought a hand up to his face, feeling the swelling around his now blackened eye.

"Feth..."

The Master pulled up his communicator, answering the call of his student.

"Yeah, just hang tight, buddy," Jasper answered. "I'll reroute to your signal."

All the while Pyf, his droid companion, had already taken note of the transmission and begun the process of triangulating the position of the padawan, firing up the engine of the Lonestar-1 in the process. Jasper made his way back towards his freighter with haste.

And hopefully he wasn't going to arrive to a complete disaster.

"I have a habit for learning things you could say, I am sure I could figure it out."

His other words though, had she ever asked for help? Oh yes.. So very long ago, but not anymore.

"It has been an age since I asked for help, not even sure who I would speak with. Most issues I deal with would drive others insane, their mind not built to withstand. When it comes to mastering nightmare, I feel... I am certain it is a road one walks alone."

No matter how you view it, she was right in some regards. The chance that someone helping her would suffer a fate worse than death was high, and only she harbored the evil inside.

It was borderline impossible for her Golden amber eyes to miss anything, they flicked down within the instant he moved his hand. It made the woman smile a bit, he still had many years to go.

"Today is not a day to focus on little ole me yes? We have something to find, perhaps we could check the cave I had scouted earlier?"

She crosses her arms, a hand on her chin as she pondered.

Braze heard the call return through his earpiece. He frowned, listening intently.

"Then perhaps you haven't found the right person... Maybe... you need a specialist... like... a gardener," he suggested, nodding as if he was quite sure of himself. "A people gardener," he added as if it were a completely normal thing to say.

"Plants in a garden left unattended take root with weeds and other nasty things. I don't imagine most people would want to play in a garden that's in disrepair or overtaken by weeds that's been left for years and years. But not everyone is a good gardener... it takes experiance... it takes time, patience, and care to put things right again. It doesn't happen overnight. But once a garden is restored, I'm sure lots of people would want to visit, play in it, and even have fun events and even make life-changing memories there," Braze offered.

"I have love, friendship and hope in my life. You're the one who needs help more," Braze stated simply.

"Mm."

Was her only response for an extended time, the woman's lack of words ironically said enough. In her mind she remembered what she had heard, when her past had returned in a sense. She was indeed a lonely soul, and if she was a garden.. You would find naught but thorns all around, forming a wall that kept everyone else out.

"I suppose this is ample enough revenge."

She lightly huffs out a playful chuckle, it was clear that something there had dug just deep enough.

"Words to think about I suppose, but prithee.. Perish those worries for me, I still stand do I not?"

Adeline gives a gentle smile.

"Now, the cave? Or do you have somewhere else in mind for us to explore?"

Braze shook his head, petting the wolf pup again in an attempt to soothe the creature. "I'm not sure where the entrance might be... Maybe somewhere cloaked in shadows at a specific time. I didn't really understand it..." he trailed off.

"I know of a people gardener... if you need help finding one," Braze mentioned, speaking up on that odd little idea. It seemed he had met someone who introduced this concept to him.

"He's a kind man with a heart full of compassion and the patience of a saint," he added. He looked out across the landscape, scanning the distance with his eyes, searching for some kind of cave entrance.

The light from Jasper's freighter would appear overhead, shining down on the young Echani and the Sith. The lift door entrance lowered, with the Jedi Master appearing in the doorway of the ramp. He squinted at Adeline, a soft sigh escaping from his diaphragm. Why did he always wind up in situations like this? Perhaps it was just his luck.

"Hangin' in there?" Jasper asked his student as he dropped down to the ground. "No injuries, right?"

He squinted at the Sith, mostly to analyze her with a skeptical eye. There was definitely something the galaxy had to be punishing him for to keep winding up in these scenarios.

The Master just hoped he didn't have to fight any more today.

"Don't worry about the location, I had found it earlier, remember when they took flight?"

On que, one of her spawn would land on her shoulder. The little one's eyes peering at Braze while its ears flicked around, a strong hint that either they spoke with Adeline or she saw through their eyes.

"You don't need to find anyone for me dear, I.. Hrm.. That is something I have to explore on my own, my thanks for the offer though."

The ship landing caused the bat to fly off into a tree, Adeline keeping a calm, almost barren expression as Jasper came out.

"Aside from his sickness and perhaps general fatigue.. No injuries. It looks like your eyes have gotten better, it appears the blinding was not permanent."

No doubt about it, this was the creature they both had fought before.

Braze watched the fuzzy bat with a cautious gaze. "You're welcome," he said lightly.

He padded over to Jasper, the wolf pup following closely. Noticing the discoloration around Jasper's eye, he asked, "What happened to your eye?"

Braze felt an urge to heal the damage but remembered he couldn't. Looking at his hands, a faint glow flickered before fading. Frustration welled up inside him. Shying away from Adeline, he whispered to Jasper, "I think she knows where the cave is."

"What happened to your eye?"

"Just a brief miscalculation," Jasper insisted. "Nothing a little bacta won't fix."

And that was where he would leave it. He'd rather not tell Braze that it was his call that had distracted him. The young Echani seemed to already be having a rough day as it is. Jasper frowned as Adeline spoke, recalling their brief combat encounter back on Thule. A sigh escaped his chest as he tucked his hands in his pockets.

"I've been twisted against my will before," he stated. "A little bit of blindness is nothing more than a temporary setback. Besides, I don't need eyes to see."

Jasper furrowed his brow at the notion that she knew about the cave that Braze had been looking for. He said something about a powerful... something being there. Right? Admittedly he had a long day today and was fuzzy on the details. He'd much rather they all just go home and call it a day, but that presented a whole new scenario to circumnavigate. Of course this was what Jasper would find himself doing today.

It was just his luck.

"Right..."

His long day was becoming longer.

The man's clear lack of enjoyment of her presence was at least slightly amusing, but today was not the day for their normal exchanges. After all... She was very curious now about what was hidden, and why it was so important to find it. That's the thing about occultists like her, the more hidden or unknown something was, the more they wanted to explore it.

"Twisted you say? Interesting.."

She then points in the direction she saw the cave.

"That way, whatever your little one seeks might lie within that cave. I can of course take the lead if you so prefer, if the idea of me being behind you is that unbearable."

Another glance is thrown at Braze, she wasn't too trusting of the state of his health.

"You know your student better than me I hope, is he able to walk? You or I could carry the boy if need be, he looks like a withering corpse..."

She then began to wonder, how was it that the boy evaded his teacher's gaze long enough to end up here? What if she hadn't been so kind? He would be dead, fully devoured even.

Braze moved to his Master's side, his voice gentle but uncertain. "It's okay... I'm not even sure it's there," he murmured, his thoughts lingering on the hidden secrets. "Maybe we should get your eye treated," he suggested softly, not wanting to reveal too much about his research. He could feel Jasper's unease.

Just because Adeline found the entrance didn't mean she'd find what he was looking for.

"Uh... thank you for not hurting me," Braze said awkwardly to Adeline. He was uncertain about her and her situation. The whole encounter was overwhelming, and he needed to step back and give everyone some space after everything that had transpired.

"Let's regroup and consider our next steps," he added, trying to bring a sense of calm and order to the situation.

"You know your student better than me I hope, is he able to walk? You or I could carry the boy if need be, he looks like a withering corpse..."

Jeez. A weakened Force sensitivity wasn't that bad. Well, it sucked, but Braze wasn't dying. He kinda wanted to defend his student, but Braze suggested that departing wasn't the worst idea. As far as Jasper was concerned that was the best course of action. Less they had to deal with whatever this was gonna turn into when they finally found what Braze was looking for.

"My eye is fine," he insisted, "But... regrouping is logical. Ship's ready to go, so there's nothin' keeping us here."

Unless the Sith wanted there to be a reason. All things considered, he'd rather that not occur.

"You're very welcome, little one. I did not visit this place with the intention of devouring someone, but I also can't say I had any idea that I would be helping to look for some item today."

Normally for her when it came to helping find an item it was something she had seen many times before, but this? You would have better luck trying to not get scammed on Naar-shada than keeping secrets out from the sights of the avid occultist.

"Your ship... I would assume then that we are to use it for transport then over walking? I can't say I have any qualms over the idea, does make it harder to take in the scenery though."

Next she would commit an action not many Sith if any would do, taking her saber off her hip... Only to offer it over to Jasper.

"Here, keep hold of it for now if that will calm your nerves."

Not that the woman needed a saber to be dangerous.

"Do we plan on simply scouting as we go? Or does your differing sense of mind lead you in some direction?"

She asks Braze.
