God Jul from Sweden! :D

Unlike our English-speaking brethren, us Scandinavians celebrate Christmas on the 24th rather than the 25th. Don't know about the rest of Europe, but who cares, amirite? :p

All jokes aside, I hope everyone will have a wonderful Christmas whenever you happen to celebrate it, and that goes for Hanukka, Kwanzaa or whatever else your religion/culture celebrate. Eat, drink and be merry, hold your loved ones dear, and prepare your butts for an all new year of Chaos™.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'll have to go find a sacrifice for the blót. Bork bork!

Marry Christ-mass!

In Poland we start on 24th too but Christmas with us doesn't end until the 26th, St. Stephen the Protomartyr's day, also they usually play the Original Star Wars trilogy on tv in the evening because apparently that's festive, well at least they did so when I was a kid :p

To be honest I do still to this day associate the award ceremony from New Hope and the Ewok victory party from Return of the Jedi with Christmas.

But I dislike the Second Day of Christmas because that's when Luke loses his hand, Han gets frozen, and St. C3P0 pulled apart Q.Q

I always thought of it as New years actually. I mean, you don't really see too many fireworks on Christmas in the Americas. (maybe its just not allowed in Indiana?)

Would it be bad to say that I thought it was funny when "St. C3P0" got ripped apart?

Well just as Vader died believing in his son in Return of the Jedi, so did St. Stephen died as first martyr believing in Jezus. But yeah, fireworks are kinda against the whole "Silent Night" concept :p

Also, as to St. C3, all I'll say is,

The last time I celebrated Jul in Sweden the Danes all came over to IKEA in GBG for shopping :|

It was awful, I couldn't tell if I was drunk or everyone was speaking Danish.

P.S.

Need some Julmust to kick it off.
