Its standard 120-ton shovel attachment classifies it as a super-heavy excavator, capable of relocating hundreds of thousands of tons of material daily. Additionally, its modular attachment system enables it to perform various industrial tasks, with the hydraulic arm designed to lift immense loads. The bucket edges are fitted with solid Impervium teeth, minimizing wear from continuous contact with solid materials and extending the lifespan of its attachments.
The M-2's quadrupedal configuration compensates for its slow traversal speed by enabling it to navigate steep slopes inaccessible to wheel or track-based vehicles.
